  • It's scientifically proven that we all have a counciousness that continues after death into another dimention, this man may be very intelligent but I you cant deny the knowledge of someone like David Icke and Alan Watts etc and all the scientists that have proved this. We incarnate in many lives, and the more you evolve the closer you become to being blissful and to a higher state of spirituality.

  • @AaronBaker12345 peer reviewed articles/evidence and citations or it didn't happen

  • Great interview

  • Amazing how religious people make the leap from "The universe is such a mystery, a magic man must have made it" to "I know what God wants, what he likes, and what he's thinking". How do they make this leap from magic man to invisible friend? A book written by bronze-age goat herders.

  • oh Boy that's awesome

  • I have the up most respect for Bertrand Russell but it is ironic how he first talks about suspending judgement and intellectual dishonesty and then he fervently denies the possibility of an afterlife.

    Just something to think about

  • @mufc4everch It is intellectual dishonesty to believe something without evidence. But to deny something which has no evidence? Do you believe in the Tooth Fairy? Do you suspend judgement or fervently deny the Tooth Fairy? Same thing with the afterlife. I deny it, there is no evidence.

  • @pdblouin33 I suppose I was being overly pedantic, but I meant that you shouldn't completly deny something without proof that it is not true. However, I suppose that line of reasoning is impractical

  • @mufc4everch He does not "fervently" deny an afterlife he believes wholeheartedly that when its over there is no evidence like a corpse to understand where humans go when life ceases. As usual humans are never satisfied with a true honest statement but must dissect and try to fabricate a new question out of thin air. I applaud his directness and honesty.

  • This guy destroys religion in less time than it takes me to have a bowel movement.

  • Give i a rest. It is a poetic way of phrasing.

  • All truth is God's truth. This is truth whether you accept it or not, whether science points to it or not and whether religion does harm or not. Many terrible things are done in the name of good things but that doesn't mean the good doesn't exist. He knows the truth about after-life now.

  • @1867TrueNorth Yes, the truth exists. In spite of your wishful thinking.

  • @imaccuish I thank God everyday that I am his. If that is wishful thinking in your eyes then so be it. As I said earlier, we will all know the truth after we're gone from this world. All the best to you.

  • Just step back and look at the earth from space. There is your evidence. The blue marble of life in the middle of the universe.

  • @1867TrueNorth

middle? I thik our spot in the universe is rather insignificant. We are a minor blip in the celestial void. I'm afraid Bertrand is right on this one.

  • My experince is Christ

  • this guy is so fucking smart and witty.

  • WHERE IS THE FULL VERSION!? (please)

  • tHAT'S NONSENSE.

  • he is so cute !!!

  • @bfoaliali He's 86 there.

  • One World Socialism

  • Some of the above comments demonstrate what happens when fools are exposed to a great mind. It isn't Joan Bakewell. This is a Canadian with a finishing-school English accent. Probably quite common in the CBC at that time. Joan Bakewell is still alive, and at that age was much thinner, but spectacularly beautiful. Wags called her the "thinking-man's fancy".

  • Russell!

    The man... the legend!

  • thank you for this video...priceless

  • imposed Rationality is nothing! any rational approach when presented to u, u process that within the domain of ur own intellect and come out with a decision whether to accept it or not. so what is imposed from outside loses its imposition once u use ur own mind. however, if someone happens to accept(with his own rationality) what has been presented to him, u can't say that he is accepting it for he doesn't have the intellectual capacity to reach an independent conclusion. actually he has it!

  • Why can't you just use the word 'you?' All this 'u' and 'ur' business is definitely a detractor.

  • It saves you characters to write down your thoughts on one comment (not two or three)... That's why it's useful...

  • so is it alright for them to have a belief in religion because they think it's true more than the fact that it is useful? if it all comes to "what a person thinks" while establishing a principle to live one's life, then any religious person should not be damned! just because if an atheist has a right to reject religion cos he merely thinks it's not "true", then a religious man has the right to accept it based on his own rationality. why abuse and curse them?

  • British Fabians, Lord Russell and Arthur Koestler, were members of MI5.

  • Any evidence or proof? Russell wasn't a Fabian, neither was Koestler, who if anything was a communist.

  • You are joking right ?

  • God only exists if you have faith

  • i don't have faith, therefore god doesn't exist

  • @DesertedBaby Well put. God only exists as a fictional being. If you do not believe in this fiction, then there is no God.

  • @DesertedBaby ahah thats it !

  • Faith only exists if you don't believe.

  • Obviously you have done little research on this man and are just another obsequious sycophant.

  • I read almost all his books and articles, if u have an argument prove it

  • Perhaps you should read Russell's two seminal Utopian Socialist works, "The Scientific Outlook" and "The Impact of Science on Society."

  • @sage11111

You think you should believe in things that are not true?

  • talk about in ur face questions..why are you not christian" i would have told fuck off bitch do i have to be....

but seriously this man i was of my idols and i dont have many

    one thing to all religious people.{ the probability of getting to be 100 years is very slim, i reckon if lucky only few people in this forum will get to the 100 mark}

you relise that you only live once and that you got lucky to be alive(1 / billion) sperm no point wasting this life you should just live it is so beautiful

  • Is that Betty Kennedy interviewing Russell?

  • @ggatined I'm not sure--I don't recall her having a British accent, but then again she could well have lost it if in fact she was originally British. I might Wiki that and get back to you if you've not yourself.

    Love the CBC!

  • Not Betty Kennedy. Someone on another video site seemed to imply that it was Joan Bakewell. But she was BBC not CBC. Its a mystery!! Maybe I'll ask everybody on Twitter.

  • Comment removed

  • Such a high level of intelligence it is almost frightening.

  • Really? And i always thought its just COMMON SENSE & simple logic.. at least for me it was since childhood...

  • i cant believe you would consider this simple logic as "high level". USE YOUR BRAIN! think buddy think...

  • I cant believe that you assume that I am referring to this very small sound bite as the catalyst for my comment. I suggest you go and read perhaps around a subject. Rather than plumb the depths of a long convoluted dogmatic tradition thats foundation was built on simple religious manipulation. Kind regards,

Number of views of "10 questions that every Christian must answer": 5,094,246

    Is there hope?

    Nope.

  • Of course because it is giants like Bertrand that inspire and change society. Without people like this we would not be allowed to make videos analysis and criticising religion and its effects. Have hope! Kind and warm regards,

  • My wife is related to Russell, but I never got the chance to ever meet him. Watch his talks with Woodrow Wyatt - Excellent stuff.

  • I must say the interviewer has put up very excellent questions.

  • And another thing: wouldn't he have made an excellent doctor Who?

  • @illbetilbake he does have great hair.

  • I love his style, too. 'Well, it's all nonsense. Next question.'

  • He's bold. afterlife? a nonsense, he said..yes, it's heartbreaking, but I accept this bitter truth. Russell, I love the name.

  • @pensamisempre : brightest atheist of all time

  • pensamisempre

Yup he was a great man, Mentally Healthy aka atheist but he share his name with a Christ-psychotic. CHARLES TAZE RUSSELL the founder of the Bible Student movement of 1876 that would become the Jehovah's witnesses

The deluded pestering LEGAL schizophrenics that go to homes IMPOSING their anachronistic deluded IDIOCIES on everyone

The problem in America are those Schizophrenia-Epileptic theotards that are NOT committed to the asylums they belong CORRUPTING the minds of children

  • Their is enough evidence to show that theists are delusional and quite often mentally challenged. We know where religion comes from in the brain and yet why is nothing being dont to cure this illness, i think its because of the number of patients their would be if it was declared the mental instability that it is. Thanks cal

  • 01101100d

Yup, can you imagine placing 80 % of the American population in mental health clinics since that percentage of the population believe there was a sky zombie that resurrected to save with his blood for the sin committed by a mudman & ribwoman when they accepted fruit from talking snake not realizing we could given them entheogens in a lab to produce the same effect ?

LOL it'd be very difficult to classify Christian deluded beliefs Christ-psychosis as a Disorder with such percentage

  • I love your description of what the crazy religious belief is about, never thought of zombie god before but thats true in terms of what they believe with the resurrection of god/ jesus, whenever they make up their minds which one its meant to be lol. Im arguing with 3 theists atm and they are so rude, i try to be polite, but as soon as you show them why god is impossible, they get so nasty, then think they stand for love and peace lol, theyre crazy beyond belief m8. thanks

  • 01101100d

Hi friend, here is one of my videos backed up with facts & plenty of evidence to show people of faith are no different than schizophrenics. I have a lots of ammunition in all of my videos enjoy.

  • Bertrand Russell... my man!

  • What a retarded final question.

Man, i always hate it when believers think that there are no atheists in foxholes. I always figured that combat foxholes would CREATE atheists. In that hell and horror how could you continue believing in a loving god. When the enemy is advancing, the atheists are shooting back and not praying to Jesus.

If there are no atheists in foxholes, then YOU'LL NEVER FIND A DEAD CHRISTIAN/BELIEVER IN A FOXHOLE THAT DIDN'T PRAY FOR HIS LIFE.

  • it's a pity that the questioner isn't really up to the task....thanks for posting...great to have the man on you tube

    I can recommend Russell's autobiography....unputdownable!

  • Further evidence that Darwin WAS right!

  • "A belief is just a thought you keep thinking" - Bertie's philosophy sounds a tad dated now but I remember reading him as a teenager with a sense of liberation with his advice to question everything, believe nothing. Religion is no more than a means for the cunning to manipulate the gullible. Corrupt priesthoods - and are there any other kind - of whatever hue are responsible for most of the misery in the world.

  • MY karma just ran over your dogma!

    YES!

    Great clip!

Shall we all move on from our ignorant past and strive for a healthier inclusive equality minded/souled future for all?

    I SAY - HELL YA!!

    lol

    Watch - religulous

  • Such a great thinker/mathematician.

  • What a gem. There aren't nearly enough high-quality clips of Russell online. Thanks so much for uploading this! :-)

  • LOL savage ages Bronze age beliefs of a bunch of desert dwelling barbarians. Switch to Buddhism, it's not a religion but a philosophy of life!!! Christian Dogma is a KFC cheapen dumbed down version of Buddhism.

  • Yeah I'll go along with that. The mainabusers of the Christian code of ethics seem to be the Chruch leadership... not at the samml-time Pedofile Priests but all the theft and genoicde perpetrated by the Vatican and in the name of Jesus by Cardinals and Bishops... Auto De Fes and witchhunts and Inquistions and Pograms and Crusades and Stonings, hangings, torture - I'm glad it's on it's last legs and look forward to other monstrous institutions being marginalized too.

  • Yes, but the chances are, another mad religion will spring up from the ashes - It's always happened before. There have been almost a million gods over the centuries.
