  • Hermoso video!

  • Absolutely breathtaking. Btw does anybody know the piece played in the beginning of the video? From 0:00 to 1:35

  • @ZEROflawgunner It's a badly composed piece of film music, partly "inspired" by the Swan of Saint-Saëns ("stolen" would be more appropriate), using MIDI-Samples, like these noncomposers always do...

  • I saw a calatrava, Mies, and Most importantly Louis Khan.

  • Does anyone know what those lines on the screen at 12:10 - End are called??

  • i have no waords... its amazing

  • If only the real world could be beautiful as this. This truly is amazing.

  • If only this was available in 1080p...

  • this is pretty much the best work of this kind i have ever seen

  • wow. i'm currently attending a private art school in new york. and when i see things like this. it only solidifies my passion. thank you for sharing this immensely beautiful piece with the world. i really do appreciate it.

  • I'm just about to cry, speechless and facinated, this video is the most closest definition of art, period.

  • @crilon Ihr macht doch alle Spaß, oder??????? You are kidding, right????? Please, say, that you ain't serious!

  • can't describe... simply .....uuuh.

  • Breathtakingly stunning.

  • unbelievable!

    you are amazing!

  • Beautiful, stunning, amazing, astounding, wonderful, fabulous, spectacular!

None of these words even come close to describing how magnificent this is!

This is truly a work of art. A Masterpiece.

  • respect

  • awesome!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Amazing.

  • this is what really communicates what ART is.... I envy him, I also wish know how to get into the hearts of men so..

  • I cried when I watched this for the first time, you know why? . First of all I love art in general, secondly I studied architecture and i use 3dmax. I see this video and I cannot believe the amazing beauty that it has. Its like a projection of my dreams, and to see Mies Barcelona Pavilion in this cinematographic context is heart breaking. I cannot express it with words.

Alex Roman doesnt need to speak, he just did it and now its in front of your eyes. JUST ENJOY THIS SUBLIME ART.

  • @loombaron You've said it all (-_^)

  • @loombaron I cried too!!! I could never imagine beauty could be so heart breaking. Everytime I see it I cry, its sublime in all ways.

  • I saw this on the big screen at the Linz Brucknerhaus during the opening of this year's Ars Electronica Gala - utterly, utterly stunning. The audience were captivated during the crescendo.

  • how much of this is animation?

  • @andrejavus all of it.

  • Cool, can I run this on my Commodore 64?

  • So thats what an Magnum Opus looks like.

  • hardly any animation

  • @ibar17 Why such a dick? u jelly bro?

  • @DaveLawlz Im full of jelly. This is awesome :D

  • Awesooomeee!!!

    any tutorials??

  • There is an interview with the creator in youtube. Search for "Alex Roman Mundos Digitales"

I've seen him in conferences, and for this piece he used 3dsmax, vray, after effects, etc.

  • This is just beautiful, anyone knows the song's name?.

  • @rob3rth4yd3n ask the author. he composed it.

  • Comment removed

  • No, there is no way this is CGI. I... Oh nope, wait, I see it. Barely noticeable, but it's there. That's amazing though.

  • Its so sad how much time this probably took.. and some people say its real life and they ACTUALLY dont believe it.. XD

  • Dont you wish real life could look like this? You know, so crisp and clean, it looks beautiful.

  • The wind generators spin backwards? Is that intentional?

  • Those are all actual places that do exist in the real world, but what you see is not real. Alex Roman the creator, rebuilt them on 3d studio max and added textures, lighting and rendered them in Vray. Then he post produced them in After Effects. and edited it in Premiere. He is a sick individual with sick skills and vision and foresight thats not to be fukt with. He pushed the software to the limit and created this masterpiece all by himself. This is the future of film making.

  • wow!!.... thats all i have to say

  • 9:36-9:38 scary O.o

  • Real life looks crap compared to this :D

  • louis kahn!!!

  • It's how the focus shifts like it was recorded with a real camera that really gets me, and the amazing lightning, such soft shadows of different shades.

  • ACK!!

I saw this just a day after it was released, just some minutes ago, my jaw returned to its place

  • How is this possible......its amazing

  • i wonder when will games look like this :)

and how awesome they will be :>

  • @olentattimies Not to forget mindblowing :P

I mean, if it actually looks completely REAL when you murder someone brually in a game where graphics looks EXACTLY like in real life... then things could start turning way upside down in the heads of a large amount of people!

  • @Defarakka

maybe people wont be so retarded in the future that game´s would make us go boomboom dont you think ?

  • @olentattimies I think humans will ALWAYS be retarded and weak minded that way :P

But maybe there wont be any difference from what it is for some today.

  • @Defarakka

in the future there are better medicines to prevent people from being retards, atleast hopefully :/

  • @olentattimies Yeah, hopefully :/

  • @Defarakka I believe people that have this kind of problem have this kind of problem with or without it, with a movie or just an idea, no need for a realistic game to be retarded.

  • @IronwillNeo Well, I didnt exactly want to put up some kind of debate here, but if you imagine a game, that looks exactly like what you just saw in that video. when you play it (or maybe even better looking if ever possible). It could be kind of hard for even normal people to seperate whats on screen from real images. I'm not only talking about those easily mindfucked who play GTA and then go around killing folks. Anyway, my comment came kinda out of nowhere, so no need for a debate :P

  • @olentattimies Im sure gameplay will have turned into ..this...just watching.

  • wow...kinda leaves you speechless. personally i think it looks better then real life, its so crisp and refined.

  • I had to log on just to say how wonderful this is. Not just beautiful, but it has a unbelievable great mood of peace, progress and greatness of the human mind, on a society not far fetched. Thank you very much. Feeling great.

  • ..........So, this is LIFE.......

  • James Cameron probably envies the hell outta whoever made this.

  • Breathtaking. Words can't describe how beautiful and imaginative this is...

  • absolutely stunning... I can't even believe that was all CGI. I wish I had you as a resource for my films haha. Job very well done.

  • Камера на 1:10, похоже, советская -- ГОМЗ написано (сейчас ЛОМО)

  • Impossible. This cannot be CG. It has too much depth.

  • @TwoScrewsLoose I believe this is CGI, but really, I dont blame you for not believing that. XD

  • 7:55 - 12:29 Epic.

  • sure...this is CGI yeah...*sarcasm*

  • @Qwertyjones12345 You don't think it is? Why?

  • @wilrk I was joking...I was saying that because it looks pretty realistic.

  • After watching this I am extremely moved. How much of this was CGI?

  • @TheKyleMcVay All of it.

  • @TheKyleMcVay the whole thing

  • @TheKyleMcVay 100%

  • aahh!!!! its the matrix 1.0!!!

  • 2050, the standard for games will be this. I would like to see a render of a war zone, just to see if this guy can do a chaotic environment instead of a peaceful one.

  • yes

  • AWESOME render! It is so realistic!

  • i want to go there so bad!

  • Best CGi I have ever seen! I mean, at first I thought somebody was just using an intense bad ass camera. Then crazy @#$% started to happen like books flying and water bubbles. This is REALLY well done!

  • holy crap i just had an eyegasm.....that was undescribeable

  • @DragonAge2k I don't see it claiming to be real anywhere. The first thing said, after the author, in the description is "CGI" which stands for computer-generated imagery". The credits also say "CG".

  • @DragonAge2k Charles Schulz is a cartoonist, this is a computer animated video.

  • Amazing, he did the CGI, editing and the music!

Can't wait to see what he will do in the future!

  • Add some virtual reality glasses with the ability to show the view from where each of your eyes was supposed to be, effectively making this appear to be true 3D, and... are you SURE we're not in the Matrix right now?

  • Next time render this in 4K resolution

  • Looks like captured in camera.

  • Quote from Alex: "It was ALL rendered on an i7 920 and a QX6850 -very low budget :("

  • All that's CGI?! MIND = NUKED.

  • Think it would be easier to just build all the things in this movie and shoot them. ;) This is truly fantastic!

  • Thumbs up even if you know that this is all fake and you CANT JUST REALIZE IT!!!!

Marvelous work, i simply admire him!

  • is there really a computer that can render this awesome piece of art?

  • awesome

  • must have started rendering this in 1948

  • amazing, realy nice =)

  • This probably took 5 years to design and 15 years to render.

  • ok so how much of this is filmed ?

  • @victorklemm None apparently.

  • incredible!!!

  • I wish, that when I die, that would be heaven...so peaceful, silent, beautiful.....

  • So....you mean to tell me that $50,000,000.69 that I didn't win in the lottery because I didn't take the ticket to the booth was spent into making this video? ..... Well spent! I can now die happily! ^_^

  • Got shown this in my lecture, was mind blown.

  • This guy needs to make a realistic Zelda game / movie!

  • This is really, really awesome. But rendering in real time, I preffer this: watch?v=M6ziWcpPsHQ

  • This is so real, it's unreal... Or something like that.

I wonder how long it took to render each frame of this, and on what sort of computer?

  • My eyes are sore form this beauty, and there's smoke coming out of my laptop. Mona Lisa hides.

  • My eyes hurt how beautiful this is!!!

  • Really, really amazing video.

However, if he spent so much time working on the details, why would he make the wind turbines go the wrong direction? 7:37

They always go clockvise if seen head on.

  • @Magnavoxix the.wind.blowing.from.behind?

  • @bkdamir watch?v=LQxp6QTjgJg&feature=related

For aerodynamical reasons, the thickest part of the blade/wing will always be the leading edge - just like on aeroplane wings (the concept is the same).

Back in the infancy of wind turbines, some were designed for the wind coming from behind windsofchange(dot)dk/WOC-tvind(dot)php . Today, though, all large turbines meet the wind "face on". And yes, I am an engineering student that tends to overanalyze art :-)

  • MORE REALISTIC THAN AVATAR?!?!?!?!

  • Wow, why did it have to end?!

  • if i could meet alex roman i would thank him for giving the world this art piece and i would do it with tears in my eyes

  • avatar my ass ! this is amazing !...i could write an 500 words long comment now about how mutch i love this ;-) but i think there are enough comments here that allready do that so im just gonna say "I LOVE IT !" °__^

  • the only unrealistic part of this video....is the fact that there is nothing that is so beautiful in nature that is found in this video....

  • Wow it's from the best videoes i'v ever seen Amazing

I feel like I have benn refreshed !!! You made a fabled video

    you are really artist

I loved Architecture more and more...

  • @kkamuyy can i download just this song from somewhere?

  • @8VAMOSRafa8

it's (kind of) a remix of "gattaca"s soundtrack.

  • Amazing, Alex !!! Congratulations!!!

  • @reisudo well i think im in my 6 or 7 month

  • Wow, such talent! How long did it take to create this video?

  • @reisudo actually its really good but at the same time its wa whole lot of work n if u dont keep up with it then that work will get u at the end and it goes by real fast

  • After seeing the books fly i asked myself...wow wait a sec... IS THIS A CGI!!!???

    Amazing!!!!

    This is Art!!!!!

Thank you, you made me realise why im studying architecture!!!!

  • @ni123kos como dije anteriormente yo no lo hice lo hizo Alex Roman

  • @kkamuyy Entonces, ¿qué hiciste?

  • Out of this freaking world.Aboslutely ingenious camera shots and realism.

  • i bet the guys has a realllyyyyy nice computer

probably like 12 cores.... 3.5-4 MHz, 15 gb of ram...

  • I think it has a distinct CGI feel - certain times, more than others.

    Impressive nonetheless.

  • im attending full sail right now n every time i see this im like i want to be this good this is great stuff right here n yes this is totally 100% CGI

  • So everything in the video is actually animated; no use of actual footage from things like real buildings pasted in???

  • 9:20 to 9:55 is modelled on the Milwaukee Art Museum.

  • WTF 7491 views? This deserves more!!!!

  • This is CGI??? I don't believe yet :\

  • Witch! Witch! Burn him! No but really...absolutely amazing..

  • I'm so afraid that it's going to turn out we've all been duped

But for now I believe and I'm in love

  • This is very good.

  • Who wants to kidnap this guy and have him make a video game for us.

  • @Orangebike666 i'll get the tazer

  • @Orangebike666 LOL, if a game were to have this kind of graphics your computer would fry just by attempting to start it. and what would the size be of the game, 1TB?

  • @XxXxXUnlimitedXxXxX you must be stupid. You know grand theft auto 4? Those models are about 250 kb each, 500 kb including texture. (For the vehicles) So depending on what the developer did to keep size down, it would probably be more like 100 gigs max

  • @Gurgle528sevrules1 Thats why GTA 4 is about 15GB.

  • @Orangebike666 Good luck affording the hardware needed to run that game.

  • @eugenerichard lol ... or the bigger problem ... accessibility.

  • wait... EVERYTHING here is computer generated???

I just can't imagine it is possible to animate THIS realistic... REALLY?

Or did he compose Images? It's just so unbelievable^^

  • @valiverra most of the scenes are shot in Spain (Barcelona, Bilbao, Valencia) so I think that the video is composed of computer generated and real scenes.

  • @mreaj nope this is 100% CG my friend =)

take a look on the original vimeo channel of Alex Roman (making of) and read the text under the clip ;)

  • @homoheide actually he said that the airplane, the photographer and the swans were not CGI, but everything else is

  • Comment removed

  • Just amazing!

  • thanks for posting! My sad little computer struggles with it, but I hope to buy it on DVD and watch on a large TV sometime soon.

  • @DownWithThe4eleven How does your computer struggle with it...it is just a videofile, you are not realtime rendering it out or anything. Same watching any YT film.
