Adam Sandler is the executive producer of the Drew Carey era of the Price is Right. Also he was the executive consultant of the Bob Barker era of the Price is Right.

I will never give up on Price. It's the game show I grew up with. I saw Drew's debut. He did a great job there is no doubt Drew can do the show.

I think we need to stop comparing bob and drew. He is a comedian by nature so yes it will be different. Now If Adam Sandler was the host, that would be funny!

As long as Drew learns to encourage enthusiastic contestants he'll be fine. It seemed that he almost made fun of their excitement a couple of times--something Bob NEVER did.

Also they should tell him to ask Rich to explain a product that a contestant has questions about. It was weird hearing him say, "It's something for diarrhea and stuff", for the Phillips m.o.m.. in the debut show.

I guess it would be natural, but unfair at the same time, to compare him to the iconic and legendary Bob Barker. I never watched a minute of "The Drew Carey show" but I am so glad for him!! He is obviously very excited about this opportunity! He gets to go to work doing something he loves...and get paid handsomely to do it! Who wouldn't be excited at an opportunity such as this. God bless him!

It's the audience that has make the show famous in the first place. Drew will be fine in due time like Bob Barker did in his time.

Is the contestant named Ethel the same Ethel who was a contestant on Geoff Edwards' Treasure Hunt 1981 (I remember the episode where Ethel had to do an ice cream selling for 1 round and also in that episode in another round Ethel had to do a movie sketch with actor Pierre Upthere).

I thought his first show was good considering it was his first TPIR episode. No one will be able to fill Bob Barkers shoes but Barker didn't reach Legendary Status overnight. It took a radio show and truth or consenquences. The Price Is Right top it all off for Barker. I think Drew got potential for this show but it will come with time. Meanwhile, I'll keep watching since I always been a Price is Right fan.

You're right. Bob Barker did not have immediate success, and did not become the greatest game show host overnight. It took him a few years for that, and if Drew sticks with it, I think he'll be successful.

I'll second the ok comment. I think I'll pass on watching the show for a few months to see if Drew gets settled in and better. Bob was so smooth show after show, but I'm sure it came with time.
