  • people in masks?

  • By the way - this video is a number of years old. Those now saying "hey, get a job" or "hey, you are wasting your time" need to reflect on the fact that the creative efforts of these folks a number of years ago continues to inform people today. Tens of thousands of people have watched this video and have heard their message. Regardless of whether or not you agree with their message, they did a good job to have people hear it.

  • Healthcare is a human right. Health is part of our Declaration of Independence. Health is part of our U.S. Constitution. In the United States we have universally available and cumpulsory education for children. We all pay for that. In the United States we have Social Security. We all pay for that. In the United States we have a military. We all pay for that. I am willing to work and pay for healthcare for every person in the United States.

  • I am fascinated how many people don't care about those that are less fortunate. I am an M.D. practicing for almost 26 years. I work in my office 4 days a week and opened a clinic (with 3 other MDs) and work there 2 days EVERY WEEK to give care to the indigent and those that can not afford to pay. EVERYONE IN THIS COUNTRY SHOULD BE ABLE TO RECEIVE HEALTH CARE WHETHER THEY CAN AFFORD IT OR NOT! I make far less working 4 days in my own practice as opposed to 6. I WOULD BE HAPPY TO PAY MORE TAXES

  • so they think they have a right to steal the money of others for use on their own health care?

    Its called mob theft.

If you want health care then get a job and pay for it.

  • @2204Alpha Wealthcare insurance is corporate theft AGAINST We The People (the Constitutional mob) ...END CORPORATE WEALTHCARE NOW #OCCUPYWALLSTREET

  • I guess the circus took a week off. Really, why don't they focus the energy that they used on putting that protest together to walk there happy asses over to another store to shop at. You don't have to shop there if you don't like the prices. You don't walk into a Mercedes dealership expecting Kia prices. Most of the people in the video look like they spent too much time tripping on acid at Phish shows anyways. They should have applied themselves more instead of expanding their mind.

  • Arturo Montenora Was in attendance (AP).

  • These people are all getting pissed off at one person's opinion. If these people think its so easy. Why not study about economics. You'll come the conclusion where u will agree with John Mackey. Stupid hippies. They just want free food. Is it so hard to get some lettuce, tomatoes, Carrots, olive oil, lemon juice, and make a nice healthy salad. Doesn't cost that much. Man people are stupid.

  • @Josh0473 Liking because heck yea I want free food.

  • what a bunch of dumbasses! if your so poor then maybe you should get a fuckin job or a bridge card. or just grow your own damn food. all these people are just lookin for a free dollar!

  • Sarah Norr is an idiot. How is being hypocritical?

  • Wonder what the guy with the camera was doing.

  • Non-asshole health care conservatives oppose the reform because they know that the government can't do anything right. Furthermore, "Ideally everyone should be healthy and happy" is not analogous to "health care is a fundamental right".

    Regardless, I liked the music!

  • I will now shop at whole foods more than ever now. You have the right to earn enough money to buy health care. You do not have the right to free health care.

  • The government will continue to put most of their money into warfare and you know why.

So that our country can collect power and resources which means we can get money. So lets just say we did make Free Health Care. In order for us to collect the funds to pay for everyone of our sick, we would need to go to war.

    War=money

    Money = Free health Care

For the luxuries of one, another must suffer. It is the property of balance that applies through out all things in our universe.

  • cool now im gonna do all my shopping at whole foods

  • 2:41

  • These kids are idiots. Where do they think the money for FREE health care is going to come form? YOU you idiots. Its going to come from you.

The government doesn't pull money out of their ass, they have to pull it from your pockets.

Here's a better idea. How about teaching people to learn to take care of their bodies the hard way, instead of being spoon fed medication and surgical procedures.

If people really want to be healthy, they'll find out a way ON THEIR OWN.

  • @Lacoux No they are not idiots! When this country goes to war, the money comes right out of the treasury, no problem. If there is no money, they borrow it from China, Japan, Germany, etc., or they call their good friends in the treasury department and have them print it. The wealthy pay very little taxes because they own the government and every thing else. You my friend, need to open your closed heart, and start caring about other people, because one day it could be you who is needy!

  • @anthonycrystal33 So you are saying that we should put ourselves more into debt by borrowing money from other countries so that we can have FREE health care? Just because our government lies to us about what they do with a lot of our taxes, that doesn't justify people needing to learn to take care of themselves.

  • @Lacoux Let's see now: there is massive unemployment, GOP has voted not to extend unemployment, new jobs created pay LOW wages, people are losing their homes in record numbers, BILLIONS of $ are spent to kill other human beings in the 2 wars in the M.E., the Federal gov't has frozen wages for all gov't workers EXCEPT Congress, the Senate, & the Supreme Court. Mr. Lacoux, you must be one of the FEW who have $ & are living well! May I also say that you have NO HEART & care NOT about others!

  • @anthonycrystal33 What does that have to do with what we are talking about?

Just because you are highlighting the negative aspects of our nation which you don't like, doesn't present a solution to the health care issue in the united states.

All I am suggesting is some self discipline and learning to be less dependent on our government and more dependent on each other and ourselves for our own health.

  • @Lacoux SHAME ON YOU MR. LACOUX you ARE HEARTLESS & RUTHLESS. I hope you get sick & lose all your money so that you would then see what many of us go through!

  • @anthonycrystal33 And you tell me I need to open up my heart..... By the way I'm a woman.

  • @anthonycrystal33

I agree caring about others is a beautiful and beneficial thing to communities, but you think that most doctors and nurses who went to med school are going to "open up their hearts" ?

Are they going to work at cheap wages that government will disperse across the nation? How will those doctors and nurses ever pay for their schooling at lower wages?

I'm sure there are loving people at hospitals, but they won't tolerate being paid little when they have a family to feed.

  • @Lacoux

"most doctors and nurses who went to med school ."

Just as an off topic FYI: Nurses do not go to medical school. They go to nursing school. Medical school and nursing school are two completely different things.

  • @anthonycrystal33 Foolishness As a nurse, I provide services to people (Americans, immigrants here legally & illegally) every day who don't pay a dime. Our clinic will be closing soon. This country cannot support a "free system". The able bodied - like those jumping around in this video - come for free, too. Top 3% pay 48% of the taxes. Half of America pay no taxes! I'm a middle class taxpayer. People in my neighborhood turn down jobs to keep getting their freebies. Shameful!

  • @Lacoux John Mackey is an idiot, him and other rich CEO's just do not want to pay taxes for the working class. Capitalism is a failure, it greats inequality and a massive gap between the classes.

Yes social services are paid through taxation as it should. End the wars and give people access to health care. Conservatives like Mackey cry when they have to pay more taxes so they spew this whole "liberty" bullcrap. When I'm working 9-5 at WFM, I do not feel this "liberty."

  • This is exactly the kind of stunts Hitlers brown shirts did storm into stores and political meetings of rivals then when that didn't work they got violent

Mackey is entitled to an opinion, the people who can't tolerate opinions that they have to result to bulling tactics are the problem

  • If people have a right to free healthcare, then I think people should have free money. Bunch of Liberal losers who want to steal from other people to help lazy people is pathetic. I will keep shopping at Whole Foods.

  • what a bunch of idiots. do you really think that you are advancing your cause by acting like a bunch of socially retarded dancing monkeys? Here is an idea, lets protest the income tax (in a decidedly more dignified and honest manner) so that people who want health-care can afford it. Lets look at why they can't afford it instead of taking money from the rest of the country so that they can have it.

  • Fat dikes screaming in peoples ears, awesome.

  • It warms my heart to hear people like Mackey speak the truth. I personally would like to see conservative business owners would put "liberals not welcome" signs on their establishments. I mean why would you welcome a thief into your business? Let the Liberals have Walmart. I intend to do all my shopping at Whole Foods.

  • right wing mf's are going to get beat down emotionally and physically by the real men and women on the left. As far as missing teeth go, there are a lot more gap toothed imbred smiles among you ignorant pussy heartless bastards. Bring it on if you dare.

  • dumb

  • 1:35 seconds. um someone .tell her the gap is hiring.iam sure they have a great dental plan..hahahhaa. fe;n hippys.

  • I see the Brass Liberation Orchestra as the not-so-secret-and-silent but very noisy perpetrator behind this fabulous display of wonderfulness and musical dancing and fun protesting rich CEO Mackey's predatory position on health care in which he stands to make a lot of money by denying people the right to health and happiness. Hooray BLO!

  • ya your guys are dumb to top it off the band sucks lol out of the other people out there with the view on health care you go after mackey atleast find some one better to target with all that time you spent to practice that bull S**t you could have been working to afford health care, i work for whole foods and we all pay health care in some way.

    Losers!

  • At the core of socialism is the spoiled child - miserable, as all spoiled children are, unsatisfied, demanding, ill disciplined, despotic, and useless. Liberalism is the philosophy of sniveling brats. - P.J. O'Rourke

  • @TheCapitalistdog is that so?? last i checked, i was never spoiled a day in my life. doesn't mean that i would sit here and say that there is no room for equality...then again, what is equality anyway

socialism, capitalism, all those -isms have flaws within their philosophies...in order for there to be one that ensures equality for all, people must learn how to value themselves and others. Money has become the drive of everything and has gotten in the way of alot.

  • @AVAlon199115 what these people are promoting is socialism. It is. Socialism never works. We asa country cant equalize everything because it just isnt fair. It might be fair to poor people, but not to wealthy people. These people are wealthy because they worked hard in there life. Thats exactly what we should be promoting. We cant go around giving things to people, they need to realize that in order to make a good living. U have to work hard for a good living in this country.

  • You guys are going on one mans opinion.. My brother works at whole food and he pays $10 bi-weekly for his medical.. Everyone gets a bonus once a month at Whole Foods sometimes its about $150.. So ya'll stop hating on the man for making his own opinion on health care, cause he takes care of his employees..Also what supermarket pays $10 an hour for being a bag boy or cashier..

  • @semaj33056 $10 an hour for a cashier at Whole Foods? Surely you must be joking. My roommate in 88 was making $16 an hour as cashier at Gelson's. I'm sure WF pays way more than that!

  • your being kind of a hipacrite i'm 11 and i don't know and don't give a poop in your pants whats going on but don't go being a dipshit about it i mean your saying i'm right and your wrong, they might be forcing their views on you because they disagree with what he said your saying i'm right and THEY'RE wrong because you're YOUR CRAZY thats one thing i can agree with.

  • wow blame a grocery store for health care issues. Thats stupid. I'm sorry that some people can't afford organic food from whole foods. But thats the peoples fault.

  • @TiCkToCkMaRiO1473 i wouldn't say that. if you look closely at how the system works..there is NO WAY that EVERYONE will be able to afford organic food. The way the capitalist system works, in order for a person to become wealthy, there must be others below him or her doing the dirty work...else, he or she will forever remain that way. I'm not against hard work and all that wonderful stuff, especially if the key to success is money. But I think that's exactly where the problem is.

  • @AVAlon199115 yeah but what should be the solution. Socialism? These people are acting as if whole foods is the only place to get healthy food. Which is not true. Its just that whole foods sells top notch healthy food, and its expensive. These people are whining to the owner of whole foods because his prices are high? Its his fuckin franchise. Is it so hard for someone to go to a wal mart or meijers and just check the ingrediants for food. to see whether its healty or not. Its what i do. Lazy.

  • Healthcare is not a right. You have a right to be free, you don't have right to other people's money.

    Mackey FTW

P.S. Watch Stossel's episode on healthcare. ;Mackey is in it.

  • "I know, instead of respecting others point of view lets walk in and disrupt their business, make them loose money and blow everything out of proportion. I'm right and your wrong, so I'm going to yell it as loud as I can. Hey while were at it lets go camp some Jews and kill some Indians"

  • @madeinheaven3

woooow. you're kinda crazy... huh? camp jews and kill indians? WHaaaa?!

  • Its amazing how radical people can be without getting the whole story. Whole Foods takes good care of its employees and provides excellent health care. He also never stated that health care is not a right. If you think Big Pharma is going to heal this country its time for you to wake up from your pill popping fast food eating world. They must have seemed really ignorant to customers and employees.

  • Yes. people can be very radical without getting the whole story. Or by getting and spreading misinformation. on BOTH sides.

idk if whole foods has good health care or not. But i can tell you (as a WF shopper) that i was surprised to see a WF employee come to the non-profit clinic for low income people i worked at.

Also, Big Pharma is already running the health care system. Dont you realize that? Between them and the insurance companies, our health care system has been ruined.

  • The funny thing about this video is that the protesters are clearly making fools of themselves because they read the WSJ version of the article that was published, which we all know is no where near similar to the original article posted on the whole foods website under Mackey's blog. This article in WSJ is just a "soundbite"- if they would have done their research they would see the foolishness in the protest, My question is Is having a car and a laptop also an intrinsic right in this country?

  • @janielombardi18 excellent point

  • what a bunch of losers... how was this not illegal?

  • You don't get it. "Conservatives" are not winning the health care debate. First, these tea-partyers are not conservatives, second, they are in the fold of health-care corporations who are a barrier to decent affordable health care in America. Government control of health insurance insurance companies, to treat them as a public utility rather than an unregulated corporation, is the way to get to near universal health care, Which is a desirable goal, if you care about national security.

  • nice. time to hit the Fed next. they are enslaving you more then Mackey could ever do..on a side point is it wrong to steal food from a corporation if you or your kids are starving??

  • John Mackey is my personal hero (Hippie turned Libertarian) and I believe he has the right to free speech as much as anyone else!

I wish they would hear his lectures about conscious capitalism. He makes one dollar a year, donates his stock portfolio to charity, a vegan who boycotts producers who treat animals unethically. He built the company from the ground up and has a right to stay CEO. WholeFoods was the first stock I bought with my first job because I admire his philosophy of philanthropy

  • Lol that was awesome.

All you guys being negative, its easy yto insult behind the saftey of your computers. At least they had the balls to stand up for what they think is fair. Its called freedom of speech.

  • what they did was illegal so it is not called freedom of speech.

  • what crime did they commit? i don't think they even inconvenience anyone, whole foods is a public place but is own privately, they were putting on a show if customers did not want to see it they were shopping, the protesters were not stopping that, it was very entertaining and educational

  • It is illegal to be in the store if they were in the parking lot it would have been fine. It is also not that educational these people are not the brightest people on the planet. You can tell by how wrong this girl is in general.

  • Again, what is illegal about being in the store, they can always say they are shopping and some of them had baskets, you do not have to buy anything to be shoppers you can say you were looking around for something they don't have. Also I did not say it was edcuational, it was entertaining

  • It is illegal to protest inside an establishment. Your logic is wrong just because they have an excuse does not make it legal. I mean i can get caught with heroin and say it is not mine. This does not make it legal.

  • Ahhh! The refreshing sounds of youth. I remember those times well...Big heart, no brains...then the responsibilities of maturity come upon you; kids, careers, mortgage, college savings plans, retirement...where does anyone get off believing that you have a "right' to most anything? Do these punks even bathe?

  • @jcbottensek So, what do you suggest? Do you think that just because one is dependent on the greedy system in order to survive, one should give in? *Especially* because we have responsibility for our own future and that of our children, we should make sure that they live in a better world. Feeding the machine might pay the bills but not solve the problems.

  • Blehhh. Health care is not a right. Rights come from a mutual agreement between 2 or more parties for mutual coverage. That's how rights came into existence. E.g., Like Hobbes said, life in nature is "nasty, brutish and short." So man made agreements not to kill one another, whence came the concept of rights.

People tend to say "I have a right to X" when they really mean 'it would be beneficial to have X". Yes, it would be beneficial that everyone have health care, but it's not a right.

  • It doesn't matter how anyone *feels*. Rights aren't based on feelings. Just because you *feel* like you deserve free health care doesn't mean it's right to force others to serve you or to pay for that service.

  • get off the drugs and start a business of your own idiots. i know it'll be difficult because you've been graduated with degrees in womyn's/gay/lesb/transgaylesb/genderbender/bi/tri studies but it's better than getting high and acting like spoiled crybabies. as for me, i'm gonna eat a pile of foie gras, steam a couple dozen lobsters, idle my suv, go inside to smoke a pack of cigarettes and luxuriate on a dozen fur coats.

  • Uhhh... Mackey just announced he's a global warming denier in the New Yorker a week or so ago.

Time for a new flash mob!

  • Comment removed

  • I find it hard to believe that anyone in this group actually read what Mackey wrote regarding healthcare reform in the WSJ. Are they saying that all healthcare should be free? Is that what they mean by healthcare being a right? I thought Mackey laid out some ideas that would provide "freedom" in choices, he didn't seem anti anything, with the possible exception of another unsustainable government misrun program. What are they protesting, someones idea? He's just one person giving his views

  • wow. you guys invaded a store. called the owner a swine. and then as soon as you were done people were still there shopping, and the next day, and the next day, spending millions a year on mackey. ha! what success. you must feel a real sense of pride because at least people will remember those one people who invaded whole foods for a lame song and dance. but i doubt they will really remember the very vague reason you bored robots even did this.

  • mannnnnnnnnnnnn it seen like fun job who da fuck u guys work for what stupid people first of all u guys need to take ur time to read jonh macke stament before u do all this shit and for the girl w/ that green shirt go visit a dentis BIG TIME !!!!!!!

  • Seriously these protesters are just too careless

have they even thought about what they're doing? Protesting like this in a supermarket and barely getting any views on your video is pretty weak and petty.

But most importantly they're jeopardizing all the employees jobs who rely on the income coming from the many customers that shop at this particular market.

If you really want to protest why not just do it in front of Mackey's office instead of a grocery market.

  • because their audience are their fellow shoppers. Mackey knows what he said, he doesn't need to be told again and interrupting his patron's experience to tell them what a lame CEO he is, is in some ways more effective.

  • WHOLE foods and HEALTH care are rights ONLY for people who can afford them. For example, homeless people have NO rights to Whole Foods and Healthcare. They are worthless human beings that should die a quick death.

  • You sounds like a snobby idiot that has no idea what really goes on outside your comfort zone huh?

  • you sound*

  • I love whole foods, wholesome food, losers

  • Thank you privileged white people for once again coming to our rescue. As if WFM is the biggest and most formidable opponent in the health care reform movement. Weak. Use your trust funds to go to school, get a job, and make actual change instead of protesting a grocery store.

  • whats with the 1 inch gap in the hairy chicks teeth??

  • wow..a tone deaf horn section..these people need to get jobs..quit whining..get a life..stop making a career out of these lame protests..its just a way to avoid contributing something to society..

  • get a job you fascist vegan pussies

  • Coercing other human beings is your right?

  • I guess this people don't have a Job lol

  • This is leftist garbage. The hippies are mad because, Mackey's not a Communist. Liberalism is a mental disorder.

  • how is healthcare a right?

  • this chicks got a rat trap in her mouth

  • I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!! Everyone deserves healthcare! How can anyone be against it, ESPECIALLY most of the people in this country that cannot AFFORD IT. Come on people, GET ON BOARD! IT'S IN YOUR INTEREST!!!!!! Don't let the republicans FOOL YOU!!!!!!!!!

  • How lame....

  • Take away Mackey's money, and according to him, he's a human with no healthcare rights

  • I worked at whole foods for many years and I will have to say that I don't agree with what John Mackey said. I don't necessarily think this is the best protest ever, but hey, they're showing how they feel. I would agree that the company has nice healthcare, but I feel that to say that people don't have the right to healthcare is crossing the line.

  • Fuck. I can't believe I was ever a liberal. These people aren't debating. No rational argument was made. Sure, they had fun. And, like, totally, y'know, raised awareness. Um, and like, spoke truth to power, whooooo! I'm sure it made them FEEL like they'd done something. But, their own comparison to conservatives is idiotic: conservatives protested in public forums. These asses trespassed on private property and disrupted a business.

  • why dont you interview the employees at whole foods?

they would tell you this: watch?v=iEXITaCHGnw

  • im from germany and we dont have whole foods here, but i would too.

  • Clearly, these people care more about acting like asses in public and creating a scene than actually spreading a message. Look at their idiotic grins as they dance and sing their vague and unintelligible lyrics intended to slander Mackey.

I think a smarter option would be to stand outside the store and hand out pamphlets on what they're trying to say. You know, something that might actually be useful and intelligent.

Acting like asses just alienates you even further from intelligent people.

  • Of course, you couldn't just present your opinion reasonably, because then people would see how full of shit you really are. Like when you lie to the camera and say "well basically, this is what he's saying" only to put words in his mouth.

  • I never read those pamphlets. What they did would have gotten my attention a lot more than a pamphlet.

  • And yet you'd still have no idea what they were going on about, so it's still just making noise for no reason.

  • Obviously, guys go to berkeley for the education and not these womyn. Echh!

Disturbing peace on private property? Hello.

  • You can't even understand the lyrics.

and who even know in that store who "Macky" is.

  • Question: Do any of these idiots know anyone who actually works at Whole Foods and what they think of their health plan? I do and he says it's a very good plan. My guess is these bozos don't know anyone who works ANYWHERE! Get a life, losers!!!

  • you could park a buick in the gap between that chick's teeth.

  • She must be good in bed!

  • It's a free country, and people should protest if they want to. However, to protest when you clearly don't know what Mackey was talking about is ignorant.

  • Yawn. Social Security is a ponzi scheme. It's already been proven that within the next two years, the federal government will be negative in money received for SS. It's a big scam but people don't care because they think it's ok to lay more and more debt on their childrens children. It's disgusting.

  • Brilliant.

  • This is a wonderful way to protest and, of course, it doesn't in any way mean that these people don't know what Mackey wrote and what they're protesting about. It's a fun and peaceful (not yelling, mind you!) way to protest. Health care should be free for all. The people who are against it will be in favor of it if they ever lose their job and health benefits AND get terribly sick.

  • I'm in your camp when it comes to healthcare, but this kind of instant-reflex ignorance is damaging, considering the guy's done more than most other companies to promote positive health for his consumers and employees. Now y'all just look like the uninformed masses at the tea parties because you didn't take the time or have the patience to have a civilized discourse. Read his follow-up? The guy's a good guy, and smart at that. Ignorant, ad hominem attacks are not productive in the least.

  • You people are idiots. Mackey and Whole Foods have done more for the health of this country than most folks you'll ever meet. Pick another topic to dance to you jack asses.

  • a great example of why tone deaf yayhoos like these guys run cheesy protests and not Fortune 500 companies that offer great health benefits...

  • I suspect few to none of the protesters have even read Mackey's editorial piece. they're out there because, hey, it's the hip thing to do. They probably haven't read the bills before congress, either, which would outlaw the excellent type of health insurance Mackey provides his employees.

  • The amazing thing about this is that Mr. Mackey has been quoted out of context. My husband has worked for Whole Foods for 14 years and, get this -- we get 100% FREE healthcare. Is it free? Yes and no. He works for his heathcare by working at Wholefoods.

  • mishka626 - Your healthcare may be 'free' from work, but if Whole Foods didn't have to provide healthcare, they would have more money for wages, or retirement contributions, or paid vacations... One of the reasons why working conditions are so much better in Europe than here is because they don't need to make these kind of choices.

  • wow, great job. thanks to everyone who did this

  • Comment removed

  • NubZealot Profitting from healthcare is a felony in other free societies in the Western Industrialized Nations... Single Payer is cheaper and has more choices than the current status quo of for-profit insurance

  • I am an employee of Whole Foods, and that $50 bucks I pay a month for insurance is for my Wife and Daughter. If I were single, it'd be free, PAID FOR BY WHOLE FOODS. And anyone who think's John is just out to get rich should know that his top 10 executives make more than he does, and that the $1 that the CEO of Ford said he was gonna pay himself this next year was inspired ny the $1 that John Mackey already said he was paying himself this year..

  • NubZealot that high deductible ain't free, it's unconscionable...I hope you and your family never get sick

  • Good job, people.

    Thanks for taking a stand!

  • What a bunch hairy armpit liberal losers!

  • America is a free country, and liberals are not all losers, it's applys to conservatives as well, and you are narrow minded.

  • As a WFM employee (six years)...I have FREE health insurance, that fits my health needs and requirements. Regardless of what John "said," he doesn't affect YOU-he has "freedom of speech" and was responding to President Obama's request for "alternative ideas." Controversial, yes-as he is-most of the time! The constitution allows him to be!

  • MightyTiny1 Of course Mackey's op-ed affects ME, that is why he made them public in the first place. We are responding to Mackey's "ideas". If he did not want a response he should not have publicized his vile words. The Constitution allows ALL of us free speech, not just the elitie in prestigious publications. The people have spoken, and will continue to do so.

  • Your protest in the Oakland store didn't make people stop shopping at the store, you just disrupted the peace. If you intend to actually "make a difference" take your protests to John's office...John isn't the president, therefore he isn't the one to make the final decisions on this matter! What's the point, really?!

  • MightyTiny1 I wasn't there, however this response to John Mackey is on Youtube and going around the world. He most likely has seen many responses to his objectionable words by now. The point is to allow our voices to be heard regarding public option and Single Payer Universal Healthcare for all, and to not to be bullied by teabaggers or anyone else into silence.

  • You're publicizing your vile words. Spare us would you.

  • jen1733 Human rights is for ALL , not just those that deem themselves worthy of healthcare

  • "Health care is a service that we all need, but just like food and shelter it is best provided through voluntary and mutually beneficial market exchanges. A careful reading of both the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution will not reveal any intrinsic right to health care, food or shelter. That's because there isn't any. This "right" has never existed in America"

you should re-read the op ed piece.

  • You people have no life! You people look foolish and no wonder this country is the laughing stock to the rest of the world. People like you who know nothing and just think its wrong that a ceo cant speack his mind. What No 1st amendment for him! Just dumb people dont understand what he said. Pull your heads out of your ass and smell the roses this country is fucked with or without governmet health care!

  • calupax every word you just said was nonsensical dribble, but I defend your right to say it

  • calupax they are not saying Mackey cannot say stuff, they are disagreeing with Mackey who declares in a public venue that humans have no rights to healthcare. Who does Mackey (and you) think he is , a god that we shall bow down to without rebuttal ? No, he is human like the rest of us, and we humans shall rise up and DEFEND our human rights.

  • No I think all people should have human rights. I just think you people complaining this boycott wholefoods is wrong. You guys got so upset by what he said but yet he is not the source of the problem. Go flash mob the real problem in health care. THE Heatlh care systems them sleves oh wait you people are to chicken shit rather cause a problem to a store and its empolyees. You guys forget you are also putting employees in your crosshairs why? They are human to and have rights to just work!

  • calupax Mackey's words are the source of our problem with his hypocrital attitudes and practices

  • He did not say that humans have no right to healthcare!!!! You really can't read can you?

  • jen1733 oh , Mackey said people have a human right to healthcare??? my bad

  • I totally agree with calupax! Also, it is obvious these protesters have no brains. They aren't hurting John Mackey by protesting in Whole Foods stores. If there business goes down, they are affecting the employees. John Mackey only takes in a salary of $1.00 a year.

  • jen1733 Protestors are helping employees of Trader Joe's , and farmers' markets

  • ONCE AGAIN. I said you are hurting employees of Whole Foods who have nothing to do with what John Mackey said. What don't you understand?!

  • jen1733 John Mackey is hurting his employees and everyone else with his attitudes and policies, so customers react to his bad behavior by boycotting his company. John Mackey chose his words, we choose our stores. What don't you understand?

  • What I don't understand is how you can be such an idiot! YOU STUPID PROTESTERS ARE HURTING THE EMPLOYEES, NOT JOHN MACKEY!!!! Whole Foods takes care of their employees and you would know that if you weren't so ignorant.

  • jen1733 Nobody is hurting the employees except John Mackey.

  • I really feel sorry for anybody that knows you. THE END

  • jen1733 dear , I wish you well and the best healthcare plan in the world, Single Payer Universal Healthcare for all.

  • Teabaggers, fascists, "libertarians", John Mackey... they are all the same. They are all for "corporate personhood" and think "free market" overrides WE THE PEOPLE of the Constitution of the United States of America, that is why corporate USA lobbied to shut out Single Payer advocates out of Congressional health reform hearings. We HAVE to change campaign donation laws in this country to effect real CHANGE (no more Obama style compromises)

  • this is a great way to express public opinion in a non-violent and intelligent way bc it gets the point across while having fun. pspdevaccount what your saying doesnt make sense. if your going to attack someone or something at least state your reasons.

  • So here is the deal, I don't personally agree or disagree with what JM said in the OP ED piece but I disagree with what you did at the Oakland Whole Foods. I really don't think ALL the employees agree with what he wrote - it was just HIS opinion. He makes $1 per year and when you go into any store, it doesn't personally attack him,it personally attacks the employees whom again, doesn't necessarily agree or disagree with his opinions. You should fly to Austin and protest at his office.

  • karaelectric with all your "rules" no American would be able to protest peacefully until pigs fly

  • You wasted your time dancing around Whole Foods. How often in your daily life do you truly fight for change or share your opinions in a constructive light? John Mackey is just a CEO with an OPINION, not to mention one that supports health care, it may be different than yours, but its just that, an idea. Small ideas, even dumb ideas will eventually lead to better ones that will fix the current system, but I suppose your too busy being foolish to actually write your congress person...

  • Brilliant!!!! I love it!!! As someone who can't get insurance THANK YOU!!!!!!!

  • The people in this video are ignorant tools. I am seriously dissapointed and embarrassed by this fragment of humanity. For real, this is like THE gayest thing I have ever seen.

  • And you show your ignorance by using the word "gay" as an insult.

  • Still though, you gotta admit this is gayer than the Castro on Pride weekend, these people couldn't even pass for idiots.

  • That one chick Sarah should spend her time pushing for free dental work for hippies... I think she could benefit.

  • Don't you guys have jobs?

  • I wish these idiots would realize they aren't hurting John Mackey. He gave up his pay to charity. He only takes a $1 a year. They are hurting the hard working employees the work for Whole Foods. Not to mention what they are saying isn't even true.

  • Mackey hurts millions of people who can't get insurance with his article.

  • What a completely pointless and self aggrandizing "protest" designed only to make the participants feel better while having no danger of actually elecitting any change or momentum what so ever. Flash mobs are great public art/activity. Possibly they could be an effective tool for protest... somehow. But I didn't see it here.

  • Soooo gay. Why don't you go protest something important? Not 'oh-my-god the owner of this store doesn't agree with Obama's health care plan'

If I'd been at whole foods when this happened I'd have chucked a tall can at one of you stupid hipsters.

  • Maybe if the liberals would get their heads out of their asses and start listening to the truth instead of what the news shovels down their throats they would know that WFM and John Mackey is not against healthcare. JM wants individuals to start taking responsibility for their OWN healthcare. Free Welfare Healthcare goes unused by a majority of uninsured Americans. BTW, ALL WFM team members get paid healthcare through WFM. Research your facts a bit more!

  • this video sucks, stupid totally stupid.

  • Hey Macarena ! next version???!!!

  • The whole thing is just so amusing, especially watching those security guards not knowing what the hell to do. I mean, in a city like Oakland, they're probably only trained to spot the shoplifers or a potential robbery at a checkstand or something. But really, this flashmob isn't breaking any laws. So here are the security guys pacing back and forth like they're supposed to do something but they don't know what.

  • Hey Gappy, see a dentist!

  • Evidently you are so overwhelmed by her convincing arguments that you've had to resort to playground insults?

  • These people really are uneducated dumb people who don't think about what they are doing to the employees who work there. They are trying to make a living. THINK PEOPLE!

  • Looks like the employees want to join in to me and knowing Oakland I am pretty sure they do.

  • I rarely shop at Whole Foods because it is out of the way for me but I will be making a few extra trips there to support Mackey and Whole Foods.

Socialism FAILS everywhere (and socialism is what liberals want). Even Germany is starting to wake up to that fact. They overwhelming voted in favor a much more conservative candidate on 9/27.

Keep speaking loudly conservatives. Health care reform is needed but NOT with anything near the amount the government control that Dems want.
