Lived in Lexington 1988. Then, 1997-2000. We were there when the tornados hit Jackson, Lexington. Quick visit in 2005. None of my relatives there told me about this-DAAANG!
yes i've seen the rain, but in my 43 yrs of life never like this, but ppl older than me r sayin the same. my 4 yr old grandson loves this video tho, music too, n this is the 5th time in a row he's made me replay it
People can say what they want about the BRWDA, but if they and the TVA hadn't built the 7 dams and lakes back in the '60s, Henderson County would have been in deep shit this time. All of the lakes were spilling over Sunday, May 2, afternoon except for Cedar Lake.
@not2vu We went out Sunday afternoon and took photos of Pin Oak, Redbud, Dogwood and Brown's Creek Lake. Brown's Creek was overflowing out of the parking lot/ boat ramp. People were bowfishing at the Pin Oak and Dogwwod spillways, where huge carp and buffalo were feeding. The road below Redbud Dam was overflowing. Shoot me an email and I'll send you some photos.
I wonder if the smell was strong? we just had 23 days of rain and places that are not normally full of water were awash, and the smell was very nice, like wet hay and rich earth. yours Earl
