Something about this series fascinated me as a child so I bought the whole series (except for that crappy third one) as an adult. I love the electronic marching soundtrack which resembles some of one of my fave director's soundtracks, John Carpenter.

His film They Live has many similiarities if you look, too. Love it!

I remember watching "V" and "V:The Final Battle" as a high school student. I worked as a sacker at a local grocery store and I distinctly remember hearing this theme music in my head while I collected baskets on the parking lot. It was a partly cloudy day and I expected to look up at any moment to see 5 mile wide spaceships coming down out of the clouds. It was a cool & brisk fall day. Are you scared now? At the time, I know I was and yes, I had a life. Once again, something haunting to think.

@MischaVada7 That's great! I still think of this series everytime I see industrial places such as warehouses in horrid isolated places around London. I think those are very alien places to work in that dehumanize the worker and are an instrument of capitalism.

I never want to work in those sort of places again.

@MischaVada7 Doesn't this song transport you to the original series when it aired on NBC? I was only 10 when the original movie aired in 83 and I was scared to death but I instantly became a loyal Diana fan and was hooked on the show! I wish this theme song was on cd...:(

This track hits all the right buttons &reminds us that we are just one stupid, insignificant species convinced that we are the moral champions of some sort of stupid gods and superiority of OUR species. Human beings are, on the whole, primitive & destructively self-obsessed.

Oh, I'm looking forward to when we finally become post-human and realise how primitive we really are.

There's something amazing about concepts that challenge our sense of self-importance!

@irynski I'm sure someone hated what I wrote tho. But I regard humans partly as failed animals that the world should be rescued of. There's no worse species than humans... and they can hate on me but yep this track is flawless. It's intricate enough to allure musicians yet it's minimalistic enough to go with evryone. And this drum sound is just unique. When putting on the song it's more like gunshots going off. So it has all those different counteracting layers to it. I call it maxi-minimalism..

@Chaanee Apologies for taking so long to get back on this. I agree entirely with your perception of humans. Technologically, we have evolved beyond our understanding of what it is to be social animals. Worse yet, we disrespect our place in the ecosystem and have no conscience about the destruction of everything around us in order to satisfy our empty greed and fear of death. I like the term 'maxi-minimalism'. It does justice to the piece!

@irynski This gains me though. I've come from a place so horrible that people don't even start to believe me yet. In my life the only people that make sense are the ones I've found through media. I've been so close to going under - so many times in this process but now we're finally there. In Sweden (very modern/modernist) now the shift is done. Now the standard way to express yourself is via media of some sort. It's not like speaking 'about media' anymore but through. Finally I can breathe.

Always loved this song/ melody! It fit the concept of V so well.

Everything about V was superb!

27 yrs later I thing the original V still holds up well. When viewed now most programs from the early 80's seem cheesy (concerning the special effects); but V still comes across well.

V sold me on the different, real, lifesize shuttlecrafts built & seen throught the series & the red custumes were so cool!

Wow! I thought I'd never find this! The original series remains my favorite sci-fi of all time. I was ten when this came out in 83 and I still love it just as much. Nobody will ever touch Jane Badler for being the best villain of all time. The writing, the music, the acting, the aliens, the cast, all of it was fantastic. Thanks for posting this!
