I met Osmond's wife once at a charity function. Someone introduced her as Deborah, we said hello, spoke briefly, and then we both moved about among the guests. I had no idea who this person was, and didn't know until sometime after. Just another party guest whom I assumed was there to purchase fine art, as I was, a portion of the proceeds going to the charity. She made no particular impression. Then again, my focus was upon the art works.

I think its cool that he was honest. Not trying to pretend, yet gave a very honest heart felt answer. He is a great example of righteous man in the church. Donny has always been a sweetheart, he was my favorite cutie for my early to mid-teen years. I don't think comparing Donny and his brothers to MJ and J5 makes sense. They really are different genres. Everyone knows what their similarities are, but they were raised very differently, and ultimately their lives as adults don't compare. Pick the one you like best, but don't put down the others. You can also love both. I do.
The Osmonds were such a good example to teenagers. And they've grown up to be decent adults. They may not be mega superstar legends but they've got morals and show that you can be famous without going whacko.

I met and worked with Donny briefly in 1996 at a Fourth of July celebration. I was just a teenager at the time. I was so impressed with him. He came into the studio and offered me some of his food (chips or something). His son came in. It seems they were planning a bicycle trip. His love for his family is so strong. Donny will never cheat on his wife. Mormons don't do that.
I agree that he was vocally at his best when he was a young teen. When his voice started to change, I think there was a shift -- even though his 1974 "Donny" album was pretty good (in context of the rest of his work). Sometime after that, I think he was still pretty good but he lost the sincere (if precocious) emotional element to his singing. I guess the late 70s was all about the show and being the performer. Eh, I like the guy. Love him. Would vote for him.
Even at 44, I still love Donny! I'm envious of Donny and Debbie - this is what true love is all about, if more people had love like they do, the world would sure be a happier place.
Donny was my first love! I still can remember the feelings I got when I was at his concerts, saw him on TV, listened to his music! I am still a fan to this day.
It refreshing to see that they both are still together after all these years. God brought them together and He has sustained them. Love to you both Donny and Debbie.
She is so beautiful and has such a sweet voice. You can see why he loves her so much. It takes a strong woman to handle all those other women (like me, lol) in love with her man. Debbie, bless your heart, you are a true beauty inside and out.

I think its cool that he was honest. Not trying to pretend, yet gave a very honest heart felt answer. He is a great example of righteous man in the church. I think Donny and Debbie are well suited. My husband and I are exactly the same, he is outgoing but I'm more reserved, and we work well as a team. Maybe the were tense because they were letting someone outside of family and friends into there sanctuary. I know I'd hate it

I get the feeling too. He almost always looks tensed and uncomfortable with Debbie on pictures and events. not the way he is with other people. and they seem to be the opposites of each other he outgoing she reserved.
Thats probably why he always work and never home.

Hmm, I've got my doubts about this marriage, in a way poor Donny,he diserved better he looks very unsure with her.I think he still stays by her because otherwise he has to pay to much for a divorce.This is very good acting!Debbie changend a lot(plastic surgery), she also better changes her voice sounds like Paris Hilton.She always looked older then Donny.Well,his sister Marie was honest and divorced her husbands.

Oh gosh,you are so wrong.Donny is just tense because he usually keeps his home life VERY private.I have seem them together at church &they are still CRAZY about each other.&, deserved better?She got him thru his dark 1980's years.She's perfect for him-he's so lucky to have her&, please Donny being tempted by Kathy?When this was filmed,Debbie had recently had her 5th child & she is back down to her usual size 4now & could give anyone 1/2 her age a run for the money& she's had NO plastic surgery.

Great interview, Kathie! Loved the tiny peek into Donny's & Debbie's private life. And hey, he's "Donny Osmond"; girls have been throwing themselves at him since he was a little kid. The temptation question is a very valid one.
I think it would be extremely offensive to have people paw me & treat me like a sex object - expecially after I was married. I think that all of the Osmonds handle that embarrassing public abuse of thier marriage vows with dignity and honor.

I would love to see a new longer interview with Donny and Debbie. There's a petition on the Bonnie Hunt site asking for just that. I really admire Debbie . She's a very strong, secure lady and they make a beautiful couple. Wish Marie could find a husband who loves and respects her as much as Donny and Debbie do each other.

Donny has always been a sweetheart, he was my favorite cutie for my early to mid-teen years. I don't think comparing Donny and his brothers to MJ and J5 makes sense. They really are different genres. Everyone knows what their similarities are, but they were raised very differently, and ultimately their lives as adults don't compare. Pick the one you like best, but don't put down the others. You can also love both. I do.

excuse me, donny has a much better career and his voice has gotten better with age. don't forget "joesph." mj is still doing the same moves from 25yrs, ago. he sounds like he got his johnson caught in his zipper. when was the last time he put out an album?? to busy playing with children. don't get me wrong back in the day - i was a big mj fan. i saw him twice in concert. he has not progressed as donny osmond has or any other singer.

I met and worked with Donny briefly in 1996 at a Fourth of July celebration. I was just a teenager at the time. I was so impressed with him. He came into the studio and offered me some of his food (chips or something). His son came in. It seems they were planning a bicycle trip. His love for his family is so strong. Donny will never cheat on his wife. Mormons don't do that.

I agree that he was vocally at his best when he was a young teen. When his voice started to change, I think there was a shift -- even though his 1974 "Donny" album was pretty good (in context of the rest of his work). Sometime after that, I think he was still pretty good but he lost the sincere (if precocious) emotional element to his singing. I guess the late 70s was all about the show and being the performer. Eh, I like the guy. Love him. Would vote for him.

Donny was my first love! I still can remember the feelings I got when I was at his concerts, saw him on TV, listened to his music! I am still a fan to this day.
It refreshing to see that they both are still together after all these years. God brought them together and He has sustained them. Love to you both Donny and Debbie.
