  • To the moron bellow me. This is a huge deal. It's indicative to risk taking mindset/culture. They got lucky this time...maybe not the next. If you worked in the industry you'll know this a reportable incident. Don't berate people if you know nothing about the subject!

  • Wow, this girl cries too much "This plane seems brand new" STFU accidents happen lady its not THAT big of deal. People who are newbs to flying need to shut up.

  • My friend was a ground person guiding a 747 from china to park and he gave the stop signal the plane kept rolling and took off a winglet. he said the pilot got off with a chinese off. and never came back.......

  • this is an a330 only look the winglet and the other plane

  • Failed!!!

  • Could i just mention that the ground crew should only be used as a guide and the final decision is always with the Captain!

  • To airlines, a winglet isn't so costly, to us, it could break our bank.

  • thats what happens when airports get too busy, not enough carefullness and they try packing the planes in so tightly together that this happens

  • who the fuck gived to those assholes a pilot license??!?!?!?!

  • @5IrFaN5 ur dumb why do you think it is the pilots fault? The captain is trusting the ground crew to safely bring the aircraft into the gate

  • what are the registrations involved?

  • The A330's are delivered with the winglets...they have never been "retro fitted" with winglets or "put on" in the last two years.....

  • that would happen on nwa... haha

  • No big deal... not an ideal situation, but the plane doesn't need winglets to fly. Their only function is to spoil the air vortex that the wing tip creates and reduces the turbulant air in the aircrafts wake which therefore increases the efficiency of the aircraft and makes crowded air space more user friendly.

  • FAIL. Fired. Move over.

  • You guys got three super bowls with Brett favre. Can u get a super bowl with Aaron rodgers. Especialy coming off an 8-8 season

  • which aircraft winglet that is actually broken??

  • Hey, I was there when you collided. I was interviewed by the news crew, I told them what happened. And were you the one lady that was on the news explaining the whole thing? When this happened. It's so wierd, I was there when you collided and you taped it. Awsome, anyway 5/5 rating! :)

  • i'm the guy that said "that was pretty bad also." the "expensive mistake" commentary was from the lady sitting next to me, who apparently worked for northwest...

    cheers!

  • "That was a very expensive mistake!"

LOL....talk about the understatement of the year! ;)

  • did u guys notice the 747 that was parked right by u??

  • the A330's are holding hands

  • Looks like it's the same height as the other A330. Should be a A330.

  • An A320 has the raked wingtip not the wingLET like this aircraft. completely different.

    RD

  • winglets are in the process for the a320 very soon though!!

  • They have the fences already, they are never putting 330 style winglets on 320

  • wrong...

they are actually developing a blended winglet for the a320 ... look up winglet a320 on google images...

  • Well damn haha. Thanks for correcting me. But, still partially correct i guess, 330 styles arent going on there. :p

  • lol...sorry ...didn't mean to sound like an arrogant know it all...I just found out about it too.. :P

  • haha, I didn't mean to either. Well, I learned something new today haha

  • The guy that parked this plane was fired. He had only been employed for a few months. Felt terrible for him. )-:

  • well it was definatley the a330 because you are at the "international" terminal as they call it. They had the 747 and a330's there.

  • "this plane seems brand new".....does it.....is it....like you could tell...yaaa you betcha.....vikings suck.....GO PACKERS

  • You can tell!

  • hey buddy, i bet the pacckers lose tonight. AP will run all over u cheese heads

  • ...actually I lived in Hastings MN for 10 years up until 2 years ago, been to more Vikings games than you ever will, I was trying to stir shit up, it worked. By the way Vikings rule Packers drool, even though even though Tarpaper Jackson can't complete a pass.

  • definatley not minnesota nice

  • uhhh...aaron rogers sucks.....packs are not in the play offs and the vikings are....

  • no there not....GO BEARS...vikings 0-4 in super bowls (CHOKE)

  • oooo you made it to the playoffs you also lost the playoffs when you come up with 3 superbowl wins like the packers then you can start talking smack.

  • close...vikings suck...but no go packers...GO BEARS!!!

  • okay guys, instead of making a fool of myself, let's say it was an A330. i did fly on an A320 though, but it must have been on another leg of the trip :P

i was sitting next to a lady who worked for northwest, and she was saying they recently fitted said winglets (past two years or so) on their A3xx fleet.

where can i find info about this 'incident' using the collidee's callsign? it should be in some public FAA database, right?

  • @f00fy

i guess you flew "in", because on means you are the pilot, right?

  • @MrBowie08 needless to say, the bosses weren't too happy!

  • I don't know why there was an a320 saftey card cause thats and a330 you can tell because it has bigger winglets and larger wings the one next to it is also a a330. If you were going to Paris,Honolulu,Amsterdam,or London it deffinetely was an a330.

  • I don't think thats an A320, I think it's an A330, but thanks for sharing!

  • the other plane might have been, but the plane i was sitting in had an A320 safety card.

  • Hm, how many rows of seats were there in your plane (sorry i'm not trying to be a know it all, they just both look like A330's!) Thanks

  • @f00fy no, thats an a330. im 100% sure of it because an a330 has upward winglets, an a320 has arrow tips. if it had an a320 safety card and they didnt inform you and it didnt say it on the safety instruction video, (which it should have) then that would be a elegable complaint to make.

  • @trollydodger good points. i updated the video description a couple of years ago to indicate that it was indeed an A330...

  • @f00fy oh, i didn't see that, hah :)

  • @f00fy

it is a a330, the wings are too long for a a320 and the winglets are upwards, the a330 has a small arrow up and down.

the safety card is likely to be a a320's because the emergency procedure is exactly the same, the difference is the a330 has more seats and doors.
