Lieberman is what used to be called a "moderate democrat" (I say "used to" because there aren't any left). The party is still dominated by the centrist Democratic Leadership Council and contains the moderate to conservative Blue Dog Democrat group. The Dem. Fair enough; my initial post was OTT and influenced by the radical left which I acknowledge is a relatively small % of the Dem party. Clinton moved the Dems back towards the center during his presidency, but I cannot understand why the Dems continue to nominate candidates that appear to be too far to the left for mainstream america. Both Gore/Kerry were quite far left when you look at their voting records, and Obama is way over there too.
