I agree with you on the media’s poor portrayal of Laramie. The Stereo types are over emphasized and the people are undervalued. No one knows this better than I do. I was born and raised here when there used to be a Hospital on the corner of 11th and Grand before it was a precinct for the UW Police and then demolished. The town has grown geographically and humanely.
Its citizens are old school and do not have a clear view of the world outside Albany counties borders but they are moving forward. The best part is, Laramie is becoming more diverse and accepting. I cannot speak for other communities of 38,000 but if you ever find yourself in dire straits. You will be hard pressed to find a town with of larger hearts that can come together and are willing to give of themselves tirelessly in aid and support for their neighbors.

As I aged, I hated the close mindedness, as I matured, I appreciated their generosity, as I look back, Laramie is a place I love.

I lived in Laramie for a few while I attended school , miss the cold weather, wind , snow, we don't have that here in Los Angeles :(
