Today I saw an ad for a Standard Poodle puppy, I have tentatively looking for one for a little while now... and today God broke my heart when his answer was a resounding, "No" and now I have to thank him for that :'( and I wonder what God has in store for me in future... but right now it hurts...
when I first heard it,I was coming from the depths of depression.it offered me the footrock I so badly needed to climb out of the abyss.thanks you so much.when I saw it today, the emotions came flooding back and I wept;from the pure relief that when you let go and let God there's only one outcome---''thank you for the things you never gave to me''
I can't believe I still love this man. But every time I hear this song by him, I still feel the pain. Wow. Why do I still love him after everything that has happened? I just don't know. :(
Just heard this on the radio a few moments ago, and fell instantly in love with it. Isn't so true tho that we won't always have the things we want from the Father not because He doesn't love us but He knows what is right for us and when it is right for us. Thank You God!
OMG, i just found the song. I love it. If God should give us everything, what in the world would happen to us. Thanks for all the things He never gave to me.
I love this song because it runs so contrary to the church's teaching of prosperity and constant blessings. God teaches us more in the midst of lack and having NOT than in the having. Whom have I in heaven but You, Lord?
My favorite song from "There I Go Again," this song made me cry. I think it is more moving if you are in the adult stage of your life and can look back on the big picture of your life coming together. There were certainly several times I didn't understand why prayers were not granted, and now that I see it was all for the best and God had something better in store for me. I hope this will not be David's last album, his voice still sounds wonderful.
After "Send Down The Rain" was scrapped, David focused on concerts at home and abroad as well as writing songs for future releases.
Then in 2002 he released "There I Go Again".
While David (and many other Christian artists who were very popular in the 80's) now have a smaller audience (most teens & pre-teens and kids favor Praise & Worship songs) David still knows how to write songs that touch the lives of people who listen to them.
David and many other Contemporary Christian Music artists were dealt a major setback in the 90's when secular record companies bought out Christian record companies.
Projects were cancelled and artists could not switch labels due to "No Compete" clauses in their contracts.
"Send Down The Rain" was supposed to be released soon after "Odyssey" (that album had 1 new song, "God's Promises", and a selection of his older works).
Excellent. This is such a beautiful song. I have played it so many times and I am at a place where this song have come alive to me. So thanks for posting it
god knows whats best for us, even though we complain that he doesnt answer our prayers, but at the end of the day we're gonna see why he said no.

"There I Go Again" is an awesome album!
While "No Other Hope" and "Help Me Stand" are probably my most favorite songs, "Things You Never Gave Me" places very high on the list.
