Take the 'big, hard stick'" as a joke. Every one learns the bad words/phrases first in a foreign language...and sometimes it's all they know. I'm happy to know that you speak Japanese well and that you surprise the Japanese people all the time as it proves that black people are not dummies we are intelligent people too. Represent us well!!!lol.
Japonese people go around the whole world with a camera as a tourist. Nobody says something bad to them. Its not true they dont see a lot of other races.
@lukaqota I was talking about the ones who don't have a chance to travel. like in farm towns but there are a lot that live in the city who still don't travel a lot. I meant them. But thanks for your comment and input! :-)
que dude how was it when you first came to Japan...like the atmosphere and other stuff ? I'm willing to learn more about Japanese culture and the lang. all what you said in the video I agree because it's the same thing in my country man
@EGYPTIANHULK777 it felt like a dream bro. lol. Was really exciting. But I was in tokyo so not a lot of people paid attention to me as much as they do in osaka. More foreigners in tokyo so. lol. come if you wanna see how it's like. Really fun here. ;-)
@sec1productions I really wanna come and actually live there, but right now I'm just studying in college so a few years down the road I'm gonna go there . ay man the girls are hot in Japan dude . I'm trying to learn how to speak Japanese . do you know Oni some kind of hip hop or rapper and Nujabes ? I heard these guys are very famous in Japan. what is the weather like in Japan btw ?
My cousin went to Japan for a visit about 5 years ago he is full blooded Mescalero Apache, He wore some traditional jewelry mostly Turquoise and silver he is about I think 6'6" I am 6'3" he said he received allot of stares and women had asked to touch his hair very long and strait he met allot of nice people and ended giving all his jewelry away as gifts to his new friends . He was there with an American Indian( For the politically correct people Native American) dance group.
I'm moving to japan soon and I'm scared of how it's gonna be. Thanks for the vid! What was the worst thing that happened to you when they treat you different?
all I know about black men, they are very good at legs and arms for sport and their body looks very charm to white and asian chicks. white chick told me that my friend looks very gorgoeus butt. I don't see any of my black friend are sexy or talent in sports. all they wear is loose jeans and walk swing arms like black people walk today.
I think you think positively. I've never been to Japan, but I have some Japanese friends who were/are exchange students. If a Japanese is running from a black guy, they think you're going to harm/rob them. Also, black people have to work harder to no be seen as stupid, aggressive, lazy, welfare mongers.
You also mentioned as expected to be "loud, obnoxious, and rude">> yea, I know people who went there and told me all they did was drink and party and didn't get to know the culture.
@bghomedawg shut the fuck up.....black people can act the way each individual feels like....we don't have to look good for people or bad for people....each black person does their own thing!
I'll tell ya something. Japanese women say they don't mind dating or getting their groove on with a black man. Hell most asian don't mind. Long term? Mehhh thats different.
Why? well they ay its cause black men don't make good husbands. HOWEVER its cause you black guys turn them inside out and their vags look like hamburgers! LOL
But srsly, it's all good. Ever been with a white girl? I was with two black girls once and we made a naked oreo har har. Of course they regretted it. The les part...
@sec1productions I'm often in Japan as well and it never ceases to amaze me how when a discussion about a Black man being in the country is almost always reduced to some one making comments or questions about "sexual prowess", etc., it just goes to show the insecurity in "others".
PS; 2008 trip was my frist trip abroad, so i realize for my next trip abroad. i think its hard being a foreigner in general sometimes no matter what country you are from or are going to. just have to take things with grain of salt ;). you find friendly and non frineldy people in every country. @koberamone1989 I'm actually dating someone right now. Don't know about it being easy but we just seemed to click. lol. Once you immerse yourself in japanese and speak it daily it becomes a lot easier. And yes I still live here. ;-)

Something else I agree with you: Japanese tend to put everyting in a "Japanese" way category. For example, if you are polite with them, they'll say "oh you have the Japanese way". Or if you take off your shoes, they'll say you have the japanese way. It's as you said, and I agree with you: different cultures and different people have politeness and manners that are just like the Japanese. But the Japanese don't know that, because they have not many encounters with others.

LOOONNGG Comment i know but i had to say it.
Like i said ive never been to japan and these are just my views, take it or leave it. Cheers!
Because I know im not any of the typical stereotypes based from my ethnicities, i can easily brush these off, i take no offence and my day goes on. What my point is, most of the people that make the videos are Caucasian, let's be honest. For me what it seems like is that they are finally feeling what it feels like to be a minority in america, a place where they dont face these issues. Its like a culture shock to them. The few videos ive seen on this subject from non-whites..........
I've even had kids walk faster as soon as they saw me walking down the street they were on, constantly looking over their shoulder at me. Keep in mind Im about 5'5" 136 lbs, tiny guy. Now im not going off on some "BLAME 'THE MAN'!" rant but these are all white people that do these things. Let me say this first, I've never been to Japan so my comment is pretty much based off of alot of videos on this topic. Whenever I hear about these problems that foreigners face in Japan (stares, surprise that they can do the obvious, etc.), I can't help but think that its almost like being a minority in America. Personally, I'm of mixed ethnicities (black, white, brazilian, and palestinian), however alot of people will catagorize me as black ( even though my skin is brown lol) -comment cont..->
I just subscribe to your videos and I have to say I am impress with your talking skills. Which is a big thing, since I am surrounded by people who aren't classy. I mean people do go to school for a reason, right? Anyway keep up your videos becasue it seems rare to see a black person insight in anything involving Japan.
You seem really down to earth and humble, I'm really glad as an American to have someone like you representing us; most of the people I know who want to go to Japan are anime or video game obsessed people who may come off a bit too forward, haha
i guess it's everywhere, people say stupid things about someone. But if they know the person better, they won't talk bad anymore about that person. ( or the person have bad friends xD)
dude i m in a rush to get to work but i stumbled on to ur video here and i gotta say awsome of ya to stick in there and was not intimidated by the japanese calture or how they treat ppl from the outside.
i my self been at it for 2 months studying higarana and katakana by my self with the help of 3 iphone apps =) and im done with both i guess its wierd for an arab that is born in sweden to learn japanese hehehe .
anyways i just wanted to tell you my openion of ur video its great thank you
I AGREE IM AMERICAN BUT YOU WOULD NEVER GUESS DONT LOOK IT AND IDK IM MIXED BYE THE WAY WHITE AND BLACK I PERSONALY THINK WE ARE ALL ONE NO I KNOW WE ARE ALL ONE UT WE LIVE DIVIDED I HOPE TO VISIT JAPAN ONE DAY THANKYOU FOR THE VIDEO AND YOUR MACHURENESS =)
We have had enough of this issue from looking through the history of American century
If we can never get over this visible minority complex issue,If we can not stop and think for a moment that Japanese cognitive function differ greatly from that of typical north american and failed to mutual respect each other...then we placed ourself into the viciou cycle of never ending mental prison of misunderstanding and hatrism. - Japanese voice
Why are you so caught up with the idea that many Japanese are actually "racist"
have you actually met them face to face..that they were cursing you, did they segregated you in any ways similar to that 60's American segregation history ?
What then do you propopse us to do in such a way to make you reconsider your thought on racism in Japan ? should we just go and pleaeses everyone who are not Japanese ? Does anybody care to explain with profound evidence why you guys think we are racist ?
ok, idnt even mean it like that! japan is a thoroughly homogenous country! u said it yourself, white people are rare, for someone who is black or hispanic-like me-is even more rare! i lived in shanghai, i understand its a different country-but i was stared at like u wouldnt believe. enuff to make a man go crazy.
i agree, but as african-american it must be twice as hard,no offence but, i mean if ur a minority here then i can only imagine how it must be to be a minority of a minority, a double minority or so to speak.
Thanks for your video!! Yes that's part of thing when you're in Japan.. You have to realize Japan is 98% Japanese so that's part of life you have to deal with when you're in my country. Also, please remember that Japan did not have mass immigration similar to America, Canada or Britain. Yes we do have immigration going for hundreds of years from other Asian countries although it's not mass immigration.
I live in Japan with a Japanese family in Yokosuka, which is a city that has a lot of Americans. The Japanese mother that I live with said she feels no difference and thinks of me as a son. Since they live in a town with many Americans, it was easier for them to accept me.
There are no racism laws in Japan. Racism is part of their culture. Its all about how you look not what you know. I am married to a Japanese for 16 years and have live here in Japan for more than 11 years. Japanese are very slow at opening their minds, to expanding their horizons in the land of the rising sun. We are like Rock Stars is a good way to look at it.

Why can we not coexist together in peace ?

Does anybody care to explain with profound evidence why you guys think we are racist ?

i agree, but as african-american it must be twice as hard,no offence but, i mean if ur a minority here then i can only imagine how it must be to be a minority of a minority, a double minority or so to speak.
arivas713 1 year ago 2
@arivas713 Thats utterly ridiculous, white people are a minority in Africa. America isn't the only continent in the world mate.

I felt the same thing when I used to live in Montana :) It's not bad being a foreigner in other countries because I can feel special about myself :P
