Let's take a look at diphtheria. Diphtheria causes an inflammation of the back of the throat.. from the tonsils the organism produces a toxin which kills the cells of your body by preventing them from making proteins. It travels through the blood to your heart and kidneys. In the 1920's it was one of the leading causes of death in kids. 150,000 cases per year in the US alone.

1940's. Vaccine comes out. We see less than 2 cases per year now. Adverse reaction: MIGHT get a fever.

In Gambia, the rate of Haemophilus Influenza was about 220 cases per 100k people each year. In 2004 we introduced the Hflu vaccine to Gambia.. the rate dropped to 20 cases/100k in less than a year.

Hflu is serious stuff. It causes pneumonia and meningitis (an infection of the surface of the brain) in KIDS and ELDERLY PEOPLE. Ever since we started using it in this country thank god Hflu has basically dropped off the map. We have 1case/100k people here in the US as a result of the vaccine.

Just wanted to follow up with some examples:

# of cases of measles in the UK in 1998: 56 (92% vaccination rate)

During 1998, study trying to link MMR vaccine with autism comes out (now shown to be completely untrue)

Due to the media coverage vaccination rate dropped to 80%: 1348 cases of measles and 2 deaths.

This video has some truths in it but I find it very misleading to someone who doesn't know very much about vaccination. I'd hate for some parent to see this and not vaccinate their kids! Ask your doctor about the risks of vaccines if you are concerned. They will reassure you that they are VERY safe and are completely necessary for preventing serious diseases in many cases.

Your putting a child at serious risk for an illness if you don't vaccinate when it's recommended. The risk of an adverse reaction is MUCH smaller than the risk of contracting the disease. Would you rather a 1 out of a million chance of an adverse reaction or a 1 out of 10k risk of your child getting whooping cough and being hospitalized, and potentially dying? This stuff is real. Anti-vaccination campaigns cause enormous outbreaks that kill kids. No joke. Google it. And vaccinate.

@tdittyx2x3 my child in fact 2 of my children have already had adverse reactions to vaccine, no thanks plus it "dumbs down" your T-cells. We all had pertussis last winter and my littlest was 1 we are stronger for it and haven't had many sickness's since in fact my son got a cold and in 2 days done, while all his little friends went on for weeks~ Parents are confronted with many decisions, and at the end of the day, they must be willing to be okay with the outcome of those decisions

Wow, again, first the problem is that the imune system is supressed, next time because it's overloaded, and that within 30 seconds!

Oh, and the other guy would prefer children with polio and diphteria to children with a cold. How caring!

And now she's complaining about whompingh cough being OVERDIAGNOSED when before they complained about those diseases NOT BEING DIAGNOSED ANYMORE and "hushed up"

"Within 3 monthsof vaccination" "Polio is a manmade disease" Conspiracy theory anyone? Polio has been around for ages and killed millions. Look at the cases of polio in totally unvaccinated subdeveloped countries!

As for "atypical measles" Total numbers, please. So, how many of those who were vaccinated contracted it (this is not being told, for a good reason) in the first place? Because that would give you real figures you could compare to HALF A MILLION death of measles EACH YEAR

This is insane...vaccination has saved millions. What are you trying to accomplish is extremely dangerous. Non-vaccination is the precise reason we have not eliminated polio yet, as we have eliminated small pox.
