This is such a good system. Using the "Entertainment Mode" for music makes these speakers come to life and fill the room with rich, clear, precision sound. I'm afraid to turn them up all the way because the sub will probably knock the chandalier off the ceiling downstairs lol. And also, Bose is crap. So it Altec Lansing. These are the way to go

Hi, without the sub, you cannot use the system. The amp is located in the sub, not the control pod. Also, i suggest that you do not purchase a used system, as those are generally abused, and will not last you in the long run.

Hi, you can connnect the computer through the 3 3.5mm inputs, the PS3 through the optical, and get a optical to coax converter for the 360.

No, you cannot buy it seperatly, and your new control pod will not fully function on the old systems as the pods are encoded to the PID's of the sub.

RMA procedures vary from country to country. In Canada, you just have to send the control pod in of the old system, and they send you a new system. You get to keep the speakers. Without the control pod though, the old speakers are useless. You could use the drivers for other apllications, but not the entire system.

This is how PID's work: The first number is the year, and the last two is the week# that they were made on. So mine was made on the 28th week of 2007, which works out to be about august of 2007. To be exact, I later found a date on the outer box that was august 25, 2007.
