  • @dmohr7 its the intro to circles, by joe

  • @LJUNGBERG3 i know

  • Wow it sounds like the police, messages in a bottle, and he looks like an alien ooooooooo

  • He should publish a book titled "how to kill people using music"

  • ma chi sò sti 2 coglioni che hanno messo non mi piace......ahahhahaha.....vergogna..

  • OMG IM TOTALLY BORROWING THOSE LICKS XXD

  • he looks young for a 55 year old

  • @dmohr7 because he's bald

  • @dmohr7 He was 49 or 50 in this vid. Still looks young though. :)

  • It's so fucking funny but so AMAZING! That the bassist just goes to the side of Satriani to get alittlebit of his fame hahah! JK Amazing video mate ;)

  • im 17 and im happy to say that Joe Satriani and all of his students like Steve Vai showed me what real music is a few years back and this will be one of the first songs my children and there children and there children's` children will listen too

  • Great song even without the bitchen solo.

  • amazing

  • Shit that main riff is absolute magic

  • i think, he jizzed his pants wile playing

  • Gotta love the bassist.

  • Joe could transfer the hair on the head of the arms, a good solution.

  • @cbnx30 Joe is so cool that he doesn't need hair. realize that

  • Joe could transfer the hair on the head of the arms, a good solution.

  • Please how do I get the sound from the beginning, around 0:36

  • @TheLordOfCoal Try to use clean tone with chorus

  • @evanderguitarist well chorus is just what I'm missing :P w thanks

  • @TheLordOfCoal

Try some software to chorus, like Amplitube 3 or Guitar Rig 4 =)

    You're welcome

  • When did Chuck Norris lose his hair and pick up a guitar?

  • Satch goes from music that you would hear in heaven to solos you would hear hell and back again

  • His best live performance DVD ever..

  • inporvision of joe makes my whole body throb hard!

  • My favorite part is from around 6:04 to 7:11

Very "outsidey" sounding solo. Reminds me some of Miles Davis.

  • @dann3th3manni3 that bit uses alot of the enigmatic scale

  • @conorthealien It's actually the half-whole octatonic scale.

  • @dann3th3manni3 Which sounds VERY similar to the egnimatic scale.

  • And he only has one kid! I hope he made some anonymous deposits at the local sperm bank.

  • 360p.. is NOT HD. lol

  • this vid makes me feel like a space cowboy

  • this makes me picture a long bridge over an ocean with the perfect sunrise

  • licks of doom

  • This is a fck'n great live show!!!

  • anyone got the tab of the beginning of this song, like from 0:40 to 1:30??

    Such a beautiful piece..!

  • Anyone knows those mystical chords he uses in his intro, at 1:08?

  • Lucifer OR Merlin !?!

  • Imagine Joe playing Guitar Hero...

  • @arup02 Joe won't bother playing that guitar hero crap..lol! dive-bombs, legato run-ins and serious guitar-ass whoopage. isn't that's all about??

  • @arup02 The only problem with that is that the guitar would burst into flames, but I like where your head's at =P

  • Probably his best recorded live.

  • classic

  • December 21st baby, I'm stoked

  • i feel bad for the other guitarist

  • @HeRaLd007 I know what you mean. Satch's rhythm parts tend to be a little tedious. I've noticed that in recent performances Satch seems to have encouraged the guy to come up front a bit more, which is pretty cool. What's the guy's name? He reminds me a lot of the "angry swearing guy" from the David Letterman show.

  • @FreedomZealot idk

he probaply is one the band members

    wiki it

  • Hmm, the two who don't like are deaf ? omg

  • howcome joe always wers a black shirt? haha, just an observation :)

  • @MagicAce09 to disguise his sweat marks maybe from rocking so god damn hard :P

  • I wish Joe Campitelli (drummer) had played this the same way he did on the album... the first time it goes into the "chorus", he does 16ths on the bass drum, and here he just did it on the toms... that's probably my favorite part of the drumming from the entire Surfing With the Alien album.

  • @fuegofreak You mean JEFF Campitelli.

  • Pitch axis!

  • @jackw879 ah the place to access all modes and scales

  • this song is great

  • first time i see LaRue really rocking and enjoying the tune..nice!!!

  • i knw to play the main riff of circles :-)

  • is the part from 0:30-1:30 from something else because thats not in the studio version of this song

  • @canadude37 just improvising

  • God Damnit cameraman! Stop switching angles and panning away during Satch's solos! I'm going to come to your house, take your camera, and film myself kicking you in the nuts...super hard!

  • Drummer is as always Jeff Campitelli ;-)

Yet another brilliant piece of music by Satch!

Words are not enough to describe his music, you gotta feel it!

  • E-e

    658755

  • Those chords are one of the mysteries of this world. They are for him to know and for everybody else to find out. (Or discover)

  • What are the chords he plays at :56 to like 1:10? I MUST KNOW!

  • 2.25 onwards is where we all wake up!

  • Magistral !

  • Yeah !!! Satriani tu es le meilleur....Tony depuis le Sénégal

  • Hi, Anyone knows who is the drummer, please? Thx

  • @malinoi jeff campitelli

  • such an AWESOME song

  • and I want that Chromeboy!!

  • Of what song is the riff in the beginning, 0-0.24?

  • @CroneRaven1810 is ICE 9 =)

  • @kasatkaeddie Aaah thanks! :D

  • @CroneRaven1810 ICE 9 on Surfing with the Alien

  • @CroneRaven1810 - Police - message in a bottle. It's similar but different and in a different key.

  • @SkylineToTheSeaAndMe sounds nothing like it :L

  • Cool song but the outro of this song is absolutely kick ass!! From 4m12 secs onward

  • i got this dvd :)

  • what are those chords at the start the eary ones i love them i have tried to see what they are but i dont know :(

  • check out his song ice 9 ;)

  • At 8:33 Gavin Hensan looks so angry and bored lol

    Brilliant song!!!

  • @NeutralLuke159 I think it's Galen Henson

  • @deathscythekim729 Opps! Thats who I men't to say lol

  • good bass tone

  • yeah the first sound you hear is from the studio version of circles then ice 9 then back to circles live..

  • Jesus can Campitelli ever hit 'dem drums... go boy go!

  • lol at 3:53 the bassist walks away like Joe just told him to get the hell away from him.

  • @LOLJakeH I think ur right lol!!!

  • Once a guitar god, always a guitar god.

  • very clean sound with a bit of either chorus or phaser and some light delay and reverb for the start

  • @XownedftwX it's just the clean channel with some chorus, delay and reverb. All basic stuff, of course delay, reverb and chorus

  • is that not essentially what i said....

  • how does he get that sound in the beginnin? awesome

  • sounds like a phaser...really clean with reverb.

  • Sounds like abit of a compressor with some reverb indeed and perhaps some chorus even..

  • Comment removed

  • yep i thought exactly the same, what a great sound he has here :)

  • I remember when Satch played in the UK in 2006, Johnny A, the support act was doing his set and Jeff was stood at the side of the stage drinking a cup of tea :)

That gig was the most magical moment of my life, my first gig too!

  • I've always felt that joe should record an album with a vocalist...maybe female. I think it would be really good.

  • i know nothing about bass guitars are they normally as long as the one used here?

  • yes

  • Satriani is the best!!! And Jeff rocks, he's one of my favorite drummers now!! :)

  • The first spacey sound is from circles sudio version, the shuffly rock bit is 'ice nine' from surfing with the alien, he plays that song at this same concert I think.

  • anyone could tell me what is the name of opening song in this video???

  • the first one is Circles lmao. Second one is Ice 9.

  • Hey at the end of that song he play one of his first songs!! The Enigmatic

  • yeah, satriani taught Kirk (with a K)

  • Comment removed

  • He is Brilliant,, The last part around 7.37minutes.. You can tell thats a lot of what Kirt Hammet does..Just my opinion..

  • Satriani tought Kirt

  • So what is your point..? There are a lot of people who took lesson from Satch...who dont play like him..

  • AWESOME

  • Satch has the most bad ass legato runs of the world!

  • @ErWintersun agreed!

  • @ErWintersun it really is. i'm taking the extremist by ear.

i got the complete song, and the legatto part is right too, but i miss some notes, i'm tring hard to listen carrefully to make it perfect but it's hard to do!

  • i so f*cking agree with you :P the3xtr3mist

  • 1:30 to 2:15 is one of the most beautiful musical pieces I've ever heard ^_^

  • you spelt extremist wrong

  • @the3xtr3mist agree

  • @the3xtr3mist i've listened to this song for years and it's still gives me goosebumps when Joe stops soloing and returns to that clean part.

  • Wonderful

  • where is this?

  • its on a dvd called Satriani live! its on Anaheim California

  • Esse careca é foda -.-

  • THE ENIGMATIC

  • dude he has no eyes

  • Definitely my favorite version of this song

  • I prefer the one from Time Machine, where there's a nice intro with drums and a cool riff, intensifying the anticipation of the main theme, which Satch starts 1:38. Take a listen, I think that version is the very best!

  • definatly agree with you, i love that whole album, and that 2 min drum solo between circles and lords of karma was intence

  • yeah the time machine version is pro bad ass

  • quando la classe non ha limiti. song tratta dal migliore live di satriani. stupenda la gem a fine song ... molto più bella della versione originale. un inchino al maestro

  • i think thats not the chrome boy. looks like the black pearl. did you notice 2 songs in this - circles and the enigmatic

  • that guitar is the js2prm

  • dude i love you for putting up all these videos! finaly a high def circles with the CHROMEBOY!!

  • Hate that intro to the vid but thank you for posting this. There's no other.
