  • It was a rare morning when I was up early enough for Good Morning Mickey, but I always watched Donald Duck Presents before school. I have extremely fond memories of the Disney Channel in the 1980s.

  • ima 90s

  • I'm a Disney Channel kid from the 90s and the early 2000s, but this was great :)

  • Its too bad its not like this now.

  • @ThePBandJLover Probably Anne Sweeney & Robert Iger (The two people responsible for turning The Disney Channel into the DUHsney Channel)

  • @tvnutboy Leave Bob Iger out of this, whether or not Disney Channel keeps on catering to the teenybopper crowd, he does not make those decisions. Sweeney, who runs Disney-ABC Television Group is the only person who makes the decisions for Disney Channel. Iger on the other hand has respect for longtime Disney fans, that's why he bought Pixar and let John Lasseter oversee all animated projects and also founded the official Disney fan club, D23.

  • i wasnt born in the 80's but i love old disney cartoons shows

and i can tell that this was the best

  • Thanks for posting this. Reminds me of my childhood!

  • @DBZKatie123 They put that crap on DC so they could have a "24 hour family channel" after they went from Premium to Basic cable. I don't have anything against Zoog Disney but the lack of classic entertainment is STUPID. The dang network and the defunct Toon Disney is now COMPLETELY not understanding Walt's original intent.

  • Used to watch Mousercise and this show before school everyday. I'm now 30. If this were still on today, I'd still watch it everyday before going to work.

  • @dabomb2045 So would I! I would even Mousercise with the kids. Great show. RIP Kellyn.

  • @Hevynly1 Who's Kellyn?

  • @mattjnor98 Kellyn was the female adult host/exercise instructor of Mousercise.

  • I used to love watching this mickey mouse intro before I go to school in the morning

  • A special shout out goes to all people born in 80's!!!

  • Comment removed

  • @ThePBandJLover Maybe it's someone from Paramount.

  • I miss Mickey shows on DC!!

  • with all the crappy reality tv shows and channels on, I hope that Disney makes a channel just for all these old shows and cartoons, i remember every sunday night watching disney movie of the week on tv, they just don't do things like this anymore

  • @lilliteningpea Disney Cinemagic is the closest thing to that. It's already in the UK, so why not bring it to the US?

  • My Mom used to sing this song Every morning to get us up for school!!! <3

  • man this make me cry with joy i miss this show

  • @ThePBandJLover Probably a Hannah Montana fanbrat.

  • @ThePBandJLover That was me. It was an accident.

  • @ThePBandJLover Seriously! I know, right?

  • this was when disney channel was the disney channel, and also, disney channel just sucks now, back when this was on, disney channel was the disney channel they had very great shows, and i'd say this, welcome to pooh corner, dumbo's circus, and mousersize were the best

  • Who sang this?

  • this is the way to get your morning going as a kid

  • Yes I was, and yes I do.

  • I loved this clip, back when Disney was Disney, instead of what the channel is now. Thank you for posting this clip, takes me right back to Saturday mornings, and weekdays when I was home sick from school. Cartoons, as well as sitcoms, were so positive back then.

  • i remember watching this in the morning... well, just the title sequence, then before the show even started i had to go to school... i never understood why whoever did the schedule for this show... PUT IT RIGHT BEFORE YOU LEAVE FOR SCHOOL!!

  • Aww and now we have the digitally filtered recordings of Good Morning, Crappy Disney Actors! Starring: Selena Gomez, Miley Cyrus, and the Jonas Brothers!

  • @Boredomismyspecialty Selena Gomez is not all that bad, although I do agree with you on Miley Cyrus and the Jonas Faggots. BTW, guess what? Mickey Mouse is back on Disney Channel in some short subjects called "Have a Laugh!". Hopefully if Anne Sweeney (who's running Disney Channel to the ground with this teenybopper crap) gets fired from Disney, "Have a Laugh!" will be a full-blown programming block featuring classic Disney cartoons in their full. Gees Disney, leave Hannah Montana for primetime!

  • @mattjnor98 ugh I dont like selena anyway Ikr primetime! Idk why cant disney channel just air their teen programs at a certain block like at nights or something and air cartoons and classic stuff right after playhouse disney(which will become Disney Junior) block like between 2-5pm instead of just repeating teen shows all day (its like I c the same ep of a show 10x) Anne Sweeney shud fall of Hollywood hills

I remember when I started watching DC after playhouse disney they aired House of Mouse..

  • @SmileyV07 I saw your channel, and I see that you like some of those teen shows like Hannah Montana. However, I'm glad you're speaking out about how they should schedule those teen shows. As a Disney fan (and future animation student), I totally agree with what you said, and I'm glad you are defending old school Disney fans too. Thank you.

  • @mattjnor98 aww THANKS! it means alot to me what you said

I like SOME the Disney channel stuff but theyve gone a little overboard with their teen stuff I dont like everything on disney channel like sonny w/ chance or that dumb new show shake it up and couple more stuff

I love classic Disney and walt disney films

Its sad kids barely see enough of that on TV, disney channel is too much of tween-teen channel

  • Who this is what I remember Disney was like when I was a kid befor Hanna Montana Justin Bieber and all that junk Disney is puting on now

  • @87kittygirl justin bieber isnt disney.... but your right

  • Ahhh WOW! Thanks for showing this. This brings back WONDERFUL memories. I had just turned 12, the day before Disney Channel premiered. I'm still a big kid & wish Disney would get their act together. Ther'es nothing Disney about the channel today. There needs to be a Classic Disney Channel. Kids today don't know what TRUE Disney is.

  • @CadillacL

    It's not Disney anymore; it's CHEESE-ney!!

  • @thedrmat You sure said it. Ugh

  • @CadillacL well they have Disney Cinemagic in other countries (check youtube videos of it and look up wiki to know about it) if the US brings it that would be the true Disney Channel

  • They Seriously need to bring this back on the air. Granted they have good programs for kids, but how else will they know about the classic disney characters?

  • It seems so weird to see people being nostalgic about the 80's. Guess that's how our parents felt when we remembered the good old 50's and 60's.

  • 2 people who dislike this are hannah montana and miley cirus fans and hannah montana fan's to

  • @brb1006

Or one of the Jonas Bros. too!!

  • Hey Guys its Stephanie mom( i know strange me being on my daughters account lol) But anyway i remember watching this and singing along to it Every morning! seriously thnx so much for watching it my daughter maddie(8) i feel so bad for she has to watch Overrated shows about singing and cheesy and gay jokes. I love old disney , Curse new disney!

  • @SupportMileyPlease new disney is not tht bad but i prefer the old disney did yall have toondisney b4 it bcame disneyxd tht was way better then disney channel

  • This show was renamed "Mouse Tracks" in the 90's.

  • Thank you SO much for posting this! I haven't seen this since I was about 7.... I'm 32! Like Katemonster, you absolutely made my day... NO. You made my WEEK!

  • i watch this every morning at 6 am on Disney Channel Asia! :)

  • @NandaOnDeck And it's gone now. D:>

  • Thank you!!

  • I want you to know that this absolutely, positively made my day today :)

  • @Katemonster128 And comments like this make my day, too! :)

  • My childhood! I'm not gonna lie, this brought a tear or two to my eye. This, Sesame Street and the original Pooh Corner were what I woke up to.

  • @sengira I watched this, Pooh Corner, and Dumbo's Circus!

  • Flashback!! The early era of Disney Channel was the best.

  • Now in the morning. they show Have A Laugh! Which is Good Morning. Mickey! But on the brand new Disney Channel.

  • This was a bit before my time but the Disney Channel was still awesome when I was a kid in the early 90's. I really don't think it's just me being nostalgic, TV does suck more now.

  • I remember that show. That is my favorite cartoon. Donald Duck is my favorite character.

  • To me, todays Disney Channel is the best disney ever because it's everywhere and the biggest thing in the world right nos. Zack and Cody was pretty funny. That's so raven is the best show on disney. But really, the classic from Disney (1928-the 70's) are always gonna be the best. They make the Disney for the 90's to now look pathetic and shitty.

  • This was before disney became shit...

  • Intros like this make me wish my parents had gotten cable back then. ^^

  • @soseztheleadr My sister and I did until our Grandmother moved out. Darn her. Oh well... PBS was still the bomb and things got better when

    The Disney Afternoon

    came on the air.

  • Use to watch this every morning before oh saaaaay kindergarten school back in the 80's. It use to make me want pancakes realy bad in the morning. haha!

  • wow i sing this song to my kids. I havent seen or heard it in years. You cant even find the old classic disney cartoons anymore, they were great.

  • The Walt Disney Treasures series contains all of the old cartoons. They're a limited edition series that comes out once a year, but you can still find copies of old ones on ebay or used from Amazon. They're wonderful! Like having your own Vault Disney. :) Still, it's too bad they don't make a network of it all.

  • this was the best now disney channel is crap

  • They need 2 do a disney retro channel rember how when it was late they aired them live action disney movies?

  • I agree! Disney bring us a CLASSIC Disney channel.

  • Hmm, this is one I've never heard because I didn't have cable back in the early 1980s. Nice intro, though.

Another great opening was from the "Bugs Bunny Roadrunner Show", with their: "On with the show, this is it!" number.

  • That was the first thing to start the day on The Disney Channel.

  • I still sing this song in my head every morning and must have been doing it for many years. I find it worrying, actually. I don't even like Mickey Mouse or any Disney stuff.

  • i was wondering how i'd ever hear this song again. thanks.

  • getting ready for school right now...this clip is making it seem like 1985 again

  • Turn your speakers up, ding-dong.

  • I used to watch this every morning while getting ready for school! Thanks for uploading.

  • Thanks for the memories!!! I look at these cartoons, and I can only think to myself, "how lucky were we in the 80's & early 90's?!" It makes me feel bad for today's kids...including my 7 month old son!!! Thanks again for the video!!!!!!!!

  • Agreed I was a '91 kid and I saw great shows from disney even then and it was great im 18 today Im a big movie and tv person and I still like watching the older carttoons the memories the problem is that you can hardly find them on tv anymore because spongebob and friends I mean whats happening to the world? Its just wrong

  • Yep! I do remember this! Brings back so many good memories!

  • Yeah They never be as good as this back in the day ... Also Remember Mouseterpiece Theater and Donald Duck Presents

  • *sigh* The so-called "evolution" of television really ticks me off. Maybe I'm biased as a child of the 80's, but this video right here epitomizes television at its greatest. Were it not for the advent of the DVD and the concept of collector boxsets of classic cartoons and television shows from this era, I would have hardly anything to watch anymore. For Disney channel specifically, nothing beat GMM, Pooh Corner, Dumbo's Circus, etc. in the morning before heading off to kindergarten.

  • I feel exactly the same way!

  • Do me a favor, will you, and keep your eyes peeled, Ye of Equal Mindset. After I posted my previous comment, I thought about it and I decided I'm going to make a video soon to show off my personal DVD collection of classic animation and other various odds and ends that I've amassed over the course of several years. Not a huge collection by any means, as it's still growing, but at the present, it is quite sufficient.

  • Sounds good! :)

  • Right, sjm757. I also loved Donald Duck Presents, and some show where it was like a workout show for kids and always had a Mickey Mouse costume actor doing the exercise with them at the end.

  • The workout show would have been Mousercise, my friend.

  • I just remembered that. My sister and I use to do the exercises with the show. The woman hosting it I use to have a crush on when I was little. lol. My mom and sister thought that was cute back then.

  • Yeah, the host was totally a looker.

  • When I watched this it was nearing its off-air but I remember it still when I was 4 or 5...16 years has changed too much :(

  • I used to watch this every day before school. It brings back memories.

  • Same here. Heck, I stayed up all night during the summers to watch this.

  • In the 1980's before Australia had pay tv, 6 volumes of the Disney Channel were available to rent on Walt Disney Home Video there. Each tape featured Good Morning Mickey, House at Pooh Corner, The Mouse Factory, Donald Duck Presents and Mousersize. Then it would end with Donald Duck attempting to strike a gong and it would blow up or something. Great Memories!

  • This show was the start of many mornings for me! "Good Morning Mickey" and "Donald Duck Presents" will never leave my memory. It's a shame that at this point, memories are all they can be.

  • I used to have a grudge with my mom for tapeing over an episode of this show with this cartoon all stars to the rescue special and only leaving the intro but then people started calling mighty mouse mickey and i started likeing mickey less so I let go of the grudge and say who this about the cartoon all stars special who cares that you already know about Drugs Just enjoy the cartoons stars in the special

  • GAWD I SOOO MISS THIS!!! We miss you Disney!!! Please bring back the magic!

  • Wow! I thought there was only the new Disney Channel there is a old one?

  • The current Disney Channel bears no resemblance whatsoever to what it used to be. It was once a truly terrific channel with very high quality programming for all ages.

  • Hevynly1 - My 9 year old son wrote the comment above. Thanks for replying!

  • Oh how cute! I wish he was able to watch the Disney channel as it was, then! He would have really loved it, just like the rest of us did! :)

  • AMAZING!!! I haven't seen this since I was 6 years old or so. I'm 31 now and can't believe I remembered most of the words. Do you have full episodes? I want a copy! :)

  • To the best of my knowledge I don't, however, I have some old boxes of videos in storage that I plan to go through in the next month or so. If I find anything within, I will be sure to post it. It was a great show!

  • why dont they show good stuff like this?!!

  • I grew up watching the Disney channel when it was good. I was born in 76 and I loved Good Morning Mickey. I watched it every morning before I caught the bus to go to elementary school.

  • I remember it in French "Bon Week End Mr Mickey !"

  • Thanks 4 this video man. I use to have a tape about almost all disney cartoons that mom tape me when I was very little and I missed that tape. : )

  • This was the ultimate reason to get outta bed, back then!!

  • Does anyone know what short the last clip at around 1:11 with mickey and minnie is from? I've been trying to remember the name of that cartoon for years now so I can find it.

  • That would be "The Nifty Nineties" released in 1941.

    Merry Christmas!

  • Thank you very much, and Merry Christmas to you too.

  • This makes me miss being a child.

  • Thank you so much for this!! WOO HOO!

Let's all relieve the glory days. :-)

  • I remember this and "Duck Presents"

    Good times.

Though it is rather odd... I was born 89', yet I could quote this theme with 100% accuracy. I wonder how that happened?

  • omg thank you for posting this!

  • Wow. I wasn't even born back then. I do remember "Mickey's Mouse Tracks."

  • Mickey's Mouse Tracks and Quack Attack belong to the early 90s, when The Disney Channel started changing its image, to adjust it "to more modern times",... and took a turn to the crappy and superficial!!

  • WOW Thank you so much for posting this. I instantly got chills when I heard the opening trumpet! It took me back when things were simple and life made sense. When I would wake up with a big bowl of Fruity Pebbles and watch these great cartoons. Jeez...I haven't been awake that early since the '88 Olympics..

  • Thank you! Youtube rocks! I feel young again!

  • I loved the classic Disney shows they exposed kids to when I was a kid; now it's all Hannah Montana, Suite Life, and all these shows that seem to have nothing to do with Disney. You could take any of those 'crappy'(in my opinion) sitcoms and air them on ANY network and not care. Mickey, Donald, Chip and Dale... those were characters that ONCE YOU SAW THEM, you KNEW they were Disney. I hope classic Disney comes back OUTISDE of DVD's.

  • amen to that. none of the shows today have anything to do with disney.

  • This was my favorite thing to wake up to when I was younger. You can't help but feel good after listening to something that chipper.

I'm eternally grateful that you posted it!

  • i l o v e it they are still broadcasting this in disney channel asia!

  • i rember this i only got to watch it when i got a free preview

  • Oh gees!!! I smell nostalgia!!! I'm...31 and this is what I watched as a kid, along with Sesame Street, Mr. Rogers Neighborhood, and Fraggle Rock!!! I even memorized the last part of this song!

  • I havent seen this in years i miss this

  • I loved this show! Along With Mickey's Mouse Tracks & Quack attack.

  • I used to feel bad when they did the Donald Duck shaking his head opening sequence.

  • "If you remember this, then you're a child of the 80's! Back when the Disney Channel used to be amazing"

    AGREED!!!

  • I agree also, and yes I definately remember this. I was hoping there was a clip because for the longest time I couldn't find anything online that proved that there was a show called " good morning, mickey" I thought I had dreamt it until now. Thanks for posting this

  • "We can hear the hobos say....Hooray!"

  • best. kids tv theme lyric... ever!

  • Which I guess means somebody actually gave them spare change.

  • Anyone remember the show You and Me Kid?

  • I do! There's only a tiny clip of it on YouTube. I've been hoping someone will upload more.

  • makes me feel young..lol.

  • they should make a seperate channel!

i mean late at night, they use to give boy meets world, and when i was little they gave that mickey mouse club thing :]

next thing i knew they took it off :'[

    disney went kinda whack :/

  • this was when disney channel wasnt poser like it is now HANNAH MONTANA is not real disney XP it sux balls

  • Oh how I love this! Disney should create a seperate channel where they play the old Disney cartoons... I mean come on! They have the money!

  • They have Toon Disney........but I guess is not enough XD.....I miss the old disney channel ;/ I kinda remember this 83

  • Too bad Disney is all about Hanna Montana and High School Musical nowadays...

  • *sigh*

I guess good old fashioned Disney doesn't sell anymore. They're better off renaming the network "The Hannah Montana Channel."

    God I feel old.

  • Don't feel old. Just feel that you have far superior taste! :)

  • wow!!! to be young again...

  • I don't really remember this, but I remember the one after it with Donald Duck.

  • This is the 2nd version of the opening from 1985.

  • what's version 1 like?

  • 1st version has clips of Mickey, Donald & Goofy in their mobile home, Pluto whistling & a factory horn blowing. That's my recall of the first opening.

  • sounds good.

  • I used to watch this every single morning before school, and after school it was always, "Donald Duck Presents!"

  • Oh god my mom will DEFINATLY remember this. I wasn't born during the 80's but boy this seems good. Alot better than all this new DC crap they bring on during the day. I mean you NEVER see Donald Duck or Micky Mouse, ect on DC at all! What is Disney without it's famous creations! I wish I were an 80's child. DC is too modern now for me. Certainly my mother agrees. Thanks for uploading this!

  • Aww, man! Memories, memories, memories! I remembered watching this show during the summers of '85 and '86 at my baby-sitter's house during summer vacation! Thanks so much! I too was an '80's child. I agree that they need to have a Disney channel which only airs such classics as Mousercise, Donald Duck Presents, and of course, this.

  • i remember id see this when i used to wake up really early befor school, probably 85-86 also mousercise im 28 how about you?

  • omg, i used to do the same thing!! Mousercise was cool for like 10 minutes, then I got bored. Unless the played disco duck!!

  • This started in 1983 and I wasan't born till 1988 so I never saw this show, but I saw "Mickey Mouse Tracks" and "Donald's Quack Attack"!

  • ya know, its funny when i saw it cu i totally forgot about it and when i heard the intro right now i remembered every word. thanx

  • eveyone write to disneychannel for a oldschool vauit disneychannel

  • I remember this one! Wasn't this programme later known as "Mouse Tracks" in the 1990's?

  • Most welcome everyone! Maybe one day our prayers will be answered with a Vault Disney Channel!

  • Wow! I pride myself on being a Disney Channel expert, but I have to admit I'd forgotten all about this show. Thanks so much for posting. What a classic!

  • I do remember this! I used to watch it when I was a kid! (yes, I'm a child of the 80's) Also, I do really miss classic Disney. A vintage Disney channel would be awesome, and I think a lot of people would be willing to pay for it.

  • Who are the singers?

  • vote for a old school disney everone

  • I just posted the closing credits to the show. The sequence of clips is identical to those used in this portion of the alternate version of the intro. If anyone could find the complete alternate intro that would be great!

  • Very cool! Just as I remembered. Thanks for the video response! :D

  • Thank you for posting this!

  • Yes, very sad that the Disney Channel is now a loud, obnoxious tween/thug/hiphop channel and somewhat of a joke. It used to be great . Do you have any clips of MousterPiece Theater with George Plimpton ?

  • I think most people miss the original Disney Channel. I've always been voting for a Vault Disney Channel! I do believe I have one Mousterpiece Theatre (which I will upload), but it will be some time before I can locate addtional clips from my other old VHS's and upload them.

  • Back then the "Disney Channel" was seen on premium TV and now still seen on basic cable, Do you know that "Disney Channel" is no longer airing classic Disney programming, and now its a tween-oriented channel, we gonna ask the people at Disney/ABC cable networks group to create a 24/7 vintage Disney channel that airs classic Disney programs and movies, its like Cartoon Network created "Boomerang" and Nickelodeon came up with "Nicktoons", do you miss past Disney??

  • *cries* I MISS IT! I want a vitange disney channel horribly. I'd be the happiest person in the world if they made one. With shows like the Mickey Mouse Club and The Gummi Bears and Dumbos Circus, and of course the old mickey mouse cartoons....I miss them....

  • Wow...I've been looking for this forever and it's finally up on here! This was one of my favorites growing up. Do you remember the alternate version of this intro which featured other clips? If I remember correctly, it started with the sun rising. That one I believe was used more often compared to this one actually. If anyone has that I'd love to see it again!

  • I do remember it! It also had the clip from Motor Mania with Goofy lowering the top of his hat like the top of a convertible if I recall correctly. Very happy I could help you find this clip, though! :D
