  • forget the tank and use Dry Ice. it will carbonate your water with no need for agitation.

  • look, guys the best way to get homemade soda is to buy any flavored syrup you want, and mix it with carbonated water. You can get the carbo-water any where.

  • Good thing i live in sweden wher soda kosts a fortun. Otho sweden are champions in candy eating and every swed eats 65 kg a year

  • Thanks for the video. I have the system now but having a hard time getting the syrups. Where did you get your syrups at? Thanks

  • are you kidding me ! ! ! way way way to much work. i prefer to buy a 2 liter bottle of soda at the store.

  • Thanks for this video, and especially thank you for the links to everything you used! I just ordered all the parts and I am super excited to make my own sodas! Thanks again!

  • TOO much fucking work, just buy a damn soda for 99 cents gosh!

  • 9min u need a stronger bottle

  • Hello I was wondering if i could use a compressor instead of a co2 tank any help would be great ps i have my compressor at 60 psi

  • This is the weirdest video i think.

  • OMG YOU SAID YOU HAD A YEAR SUPPLY OF SODA MY LORD THATS MY LIFE I LOVE DIET SODAS

  • i have it

  • i am having small amounts of liquid in the line after filling and shaking. Is that from the co2 or am i getting water back feedibg into the tube. Its more liquid than should be there for sure. i am leaving valves open and reg is set at 45 so it shouldnt be backing up ibto the hose right.

  • Soda causes obesity, bad skin, teeth problems, and vascular issues. Basically its liquid sugar. Although this is a very neat way to make it, its probably not the best thing that you can have it even more rdily on hand and are consuming 7 bottles a day between the 2 of you. I had a friend who mostly drank soda for 5 years straight, and he ended up looking bloated, with diabetes, and very irreversable bowel issues. I will stick with my crastal light and water at home...

  • get a soda stream, save money

  • Is that your wife or your daughter in these vids? It's awesome to see women that are into prepping and everything, My gf thinks its dumb, We will see who is dumb when disaster strikes :P

  • Are you guys concerned about your health? Just wondering about that. I don't drink soda anymore I just like the way this is done. They also have a soda machine and they look pretty cool but we will never get one and if we ever drink soda it will be Rootbeer.

  • 5 gallon syrup boxes, a massive high pressured CO2 tank, safety valves, shaking for minutes... if you think that can beat the convenience of a SodaStream machine, you are nuts.

  • Cant you buy the syrup and just put seltzer in?

  • That was the first time I saw real icey fog

  • Middle finger

  • Dude you have a shirt

  • Can I use carbonated water instead of the Co2?

  • Very fun to watch. But I think ill just buy my sodas, but thanx for the fun time.

  • With the Sodastream you can put the amount of carbonation that you put bin the water. So you could put alot or a little amount in your water.

  • Can you do this with syrup for diet soda? I have diabetes. Thanks!

  • u good but u could've made this video a lot shorter.

  • Dude! You make your own Coke? YOU'RE MY HERO!

  • For ordinary use, too much work, but more important I wouldn't want to store a tank like that in my home. Perhaps if you were having a party and wanted everyone to make their own soda, that might be a fun thing to do. You have a good video here for anyone interested in this process. Good work!

  • Dude this is too much just to make soda...Are you kidding me? Im sticking to my soda stream. I make incredible drinks in 2 minutes. You have too much time on ur hands!!!

  • @Mrblaq036 The cost and dependence on the sodastream refill monopoly, among other disadvantages, makes this system far superior to sodastream.

  • So boring

  • Love the video, ever have a bottle burst on you while filling it? Find anything better to mix it in besides an old 2 litter?

  • @Fahrenheit38 What? You wanted him to use a new 2-liter bottle? Actually, 3 old 2-liter bottles would be better than 1 old 2-liter bottle - or maybe even 2 old 3-liter bottles?

  • this video boring make me sleepy... zzzzz

  • Club soda??? I might get the syrup, tho. I never knew they sold it.

  • Why not just put a piece of alka seltzer in it?

  • Comment removed

  • This is where you know when your dead ass serious about soda.

  • I was hoping you could add your own sweetner to get that good flaver it used to have.

  • LOL U nut! I am not trying to build a rocket here, I just want to know what I can buy in the store and mix with syrup to make a coke at home or work :P

  • @leonheart00 You can buy a Fizz Giz on Amazon dot com and a Fizz Giz Home Station on FizzGiz dot com. Decent demo of Fizz Giz Home Station right here N UTube.

  • Can you buy these at gas stations and restraunts?

  • Cool

  • by the size of your hands you should cut down on the soda.

  • @Jx1x3 for real i mean i like soda and all but 6 or 7 a DAY!

  • Very nice, if i could afford all the apparatus for making soft drinks i would certainly consider doing it myself.

  • awesome, thanks for sharing!

  • wats the point in making drinks wen you can buy em ur just wasting money on all the equipment

  • @zOpTiiCz Because some people, myself included, like the independence of being about to create at home what you previously had to buy, and that is, anything that is carbonated. With this type of system, once you get the pieces in place, you have many options for the raw materials to make great carbonated drinks at a fraction of what you would otherwise pay, and you can make them on the spot. Ran out of syrup? Carbonate Kool-Aid. Ran out of Kool-Aid? Carbonate...[fill in the blank].

  • I see death in each and every one of those cups. People need to become much more health conscious because it is scary how many unhealthy people there are, especially here in North America.

  • gee i think ill just buy my soda

  • For the SAFETY of your family please buy an Oxygen Detector or move the bottle into an external shed or similar. If that bottle leaks it will displace the Oxygen in your home meaning less for you to breath. Reduced O2 levels are difficult to realize as you simply become drowsy and can pass out and possibly suffocate.

    Enjoyed the video!

  • Seeing the 'failures' will prevent others from doing the same. We don't like soda because of all the sugar. We use 100% juice rather than the syrup with the seltzer for a healthy alternative, very refreshing. Glad to see cheap way of making the bubbly part. Thanks.

  • great job waiting for u 2 put the syrup and co2 in it

  • muda fucka i just drank a 3 liter rc cola while you made a 2 liter one and it was only a buck

  • That pretty smart haha!

  • who goes through all this trouble so they can drink something that is bad for you.....lol

  • Mannn that was awsome great job..

    Byrdmann!!!!!!!

  • thought this was gonna be good then at 11:37 oh y gotta be kidding

  • bad thing its to warm not that cold

  • I found the lids at fizzgiz.com to work really good

  • .... It will keep collapsing indicating that CO2 has dissolved. Keep repeating untill the bottle is not collapsing any more. Then you know it has saturated enough to stop. There is no need to shake while the filling tube is attached. A tubless valve is much cheaper.

  • Hi Survival. Thank you again for the video.

I meant a tubless car tire valve with a chuck. I used it and it worked just fine. The technique I used was to fill 2/3 of the bottle with chilling cold water, puting crushed ice inside works even better, expell all air by squeezing the bottle, close the cap, and then fill it with the gas. Shake it for a few seconds and the gas will dissolve and the bottle will collapse or soften again. Fill it again with gas and shake. It will keep collapsing indicat

  • Great work dude. Thank you for sharing. But I dont understand why the valve stem didnt work. It should be able to deliver a lot of co2. It inflates a tire in seconds. Can you explain? I ve seen some other guys using a tire valve and it seems to be working just fine.

  • @TheWonzy2009 @TheWonzy2009 It was harder to shake to bottles while trying to press down with a bike inflator nozzle.

  • @TheWonzy2009 Good flick! It does work. gigaJack just didn't have much luck with his home-made apparatus. Clear Fizz Giz plug-valves work too. My guess is his didn't work because he couldn't get a good seal. He had the right idea, but built it poorly. Shaking a bottle with a dispenser+hose attached is clumsy and problematic. There's no need to leave dispenser and hose attached while shaking. Disconnect it, shake and reconnect. Search for this flick here in youtube ==> 7UMAL3X70ZY

  • Americans are cheap even when it comes to their health.

  • thanks for the video, very informative.

do you know what the (real) shelf life is for the syrup, unopened and opened?

  • @csiebert2 We only have 3 boxes so far and they are still good opened after 4 months.

  • Umm long enough video lmao! That could've been shown in like five minutes.

  • couldn't you just hold the bottle upside down when you connect the co2 hose? like have the bubbles come in through the water instead of filling the empty part of the bottle with air and shaking it?

  • where can I find that pepsi adapter

  • @tbyserrow In the comment there is a link for Carbonator Cap.

  • @TheSurvivalSummary wait, pepsi is made out of serope and co2?

  • none of them r guys

  • pop is a buck on sale whats the point of spending all this money? I don't plan on drinking pop when SHTF I store some of that stuff you add to water for diffrent tastes and what not but still planing on drinking pop to out their for me.

  • jezzus just buy the freaking soda already made

  • why don't you just get a large carbonator that has a nozzle that sticks out? My uncle in israel has one in his bomb shelter and all you have to do is hold your glass under the nozzle and it shoots co2 into the glass.

  • FOR THE WATER AND TURNING IT INTO CO2 WATER, JUST GO BUY SOME CARBONATED WATER!!!! ITS LIKE 1$ FOR A 2 LITER AT WALL MART!!

  • I've got a similar setup and its great... you can carbonate almost anything you want, it doesn't have to be sugary soda, people! He said he would eventually make homemade and it can be dry or whatever. Soda Stream is very expensive and even more so than this deal. Pay attention, 20# tank filled for about $25 not $30 for a small fill. finally, Soda Stream releases a much smaller amount of pressure and you can only carbonate water, nothing else... Hello! To each their own.

  • alright this is how u do it...walk or drive to your nearest grocery, go to the mexican knock off brands, and get a big ass bottle for a dollar...like 2 gallons right there, 3 dollars for 6 gallons, and easier too

  • More Cost effective then Soda Stream? Your start up cost is 300 bucks and the start up package I got with Soda stream included the Machine, Co2 tank, waters, 12 1 liter flavor amounts, ice cube trays and the bottle for 99 bucks. So that leaves me with 200 bucks to go buy flavors and extra bottles and a few 130L Co2 tanks. Plus Soda stream doesn't have High Fructose corn syrup in their mixes. Also why buy a big giant box like that anyways? That's a lot of High Fructose corn syrup to go through.

  • Plus why would anyone want to have a big co2 tank in their home anyways? Most people say that it doesn't carbonate the water right but they aren't using the machine properly. Personally I'd rather have those bottles then those big boxes of flavors sitting around. Plus you don't have to order your Co2 tanks from Soda stream or even the flavors. Sorry but the start up cost with Soda stream is cheaper.

  • Could you try taking like a 20 oz bottle of fanta sprite or coke and take the label off and glue it on so every time you pump an oz of syrup into your soda water you can tell how much sugar and calories you intake with 20 oz of soda. :) haha

  • I wanted to get some bag in the box set ups but people told me the syrup would go bad before we used it all up .

  • Why have soda? Soda makes you fat.

  • @minecraftcreeper2 We have been drinking soda ever since we where children (30-37 years) we are not fat.

  • @minecraftcreeper2 You might want to look into something called diet soda. I've been drinking it all my life and I'm 5 ft, 110 lbs.

  • @siszam

You're weight doesn't matter. The more you drink the worse your body functions. The older you get the more you feel it.

  • @heavenonearth777 Since the subject of fat was brought up by you and I was responding to your comment then weight does matter. You said, "Soda makes you fat." Then you tell me weight doesn't matter. It mattered enough for you to make a false claim that soda makes people fat. Don't say one thing then change tactics when you're proven wrong. Soda isn't good for you. I didn't say it was but it does not make you fatter than other foods if you control your intake and type of soda.

  • @heavenonearth777 Futhermore, I would like to see studies that prove that soda makes your "body functions" worse. I'm 45 and in perfect health. I realize there may be long term problems with artificial sweeteners, etc. I've seen no scientific studies that show soda is worse than alcohol. Many people drink alcohol. My nephew was killed by a drunk driver. No one drinks soda and smashes people with cars. There are risks to everything but many things are more deadly than drinking soda. Lighten up.

  • Very good video

  • try the syrup on waffles or pancakes sometime mwuhahaha

  • @C0VVB3LL it would be to strong of a flavor to do that but maybe the kids would like it

  • Interesting.

  • Not knocking you but the soda stream does agitate the water , the nossle goes down into the bottle and every time you pump it in it stirs the bottle just like blowing into your straw in your drink when you where a kid .

  • @idaru2 Good to know. I got that info from another video on YouTube. That wasn't the only reason we choose to build our own. I didn't like the cost for the co2 tanks and I wanted to have a lot of co2 on hand. We would have wanted to purchase extra space tanks but at $30 each it was too costly for us. We bought out 20lb tank for $100 and refills are $20 every 1.5-2 years.

  • nice system

  • soda is bad for you

  • @tk4227 yes but it tastes good

  • Its not very good for you, but man I love my coke :P I've got all these Ideas in my head now! Cherry Coke mmmm or some crazy combinations like peanut butter coke, Licorice coke! Heck you could even make some really cool alcoholic mixes!!!

I think I may have to try this! thx.

  • I used to think refined sugar was bad only for your teeth. Refined Sugar is what feeds cancer and a host of other problems. It causes systemic yeast which cause all sorts of problems. Cut sugar out completely for 1-6 mons - you'll FEEL the difference. I know that's VERY difficult (I've done it and I love sugar) but please try to pick better alternatives, I've done a lot of health research and am amazed at all the things sugar contributors to, you might as well smoke!

  • how come you don't just put the syrup in there and then carbonate it?

  • @bmeyer44 We would have to have a bottle for each person in the family with their flavor of liking. Each person likes their mixture of syrup to soda a bit different. Wife likes a lighter coke, I like the standard coke mixture.

  • @TheSurvivalSummary Have you tried doing this with fruit juice? mmmmmmmm

  • Been thinking about something like that for my wife, she likes soda water. So it would be pretty easy the way you have done it. Thanks for sharing.

  • Nice set up . better then running to the store and buying it all the time. Was wondering how much are you saving per bottle compared to just buying a bottle?

  • Thanks for the inof but I would just buy the kool aid. 2 bucks in powder.

  • I wish I knew you were trying to do this before the video. I used to install soda and beer fountains in stores/places to eat. Stores with large self serve fountains have what is known as a "carbonator". The syrup, water and carbonating gas are all send through tubes in a tank with refrigeration tubes running all around its perimeter thus keeping it all very cold. Notice how small machines have ice above the fountain area? It relies on that ice to keep it all cold. PM me for more details.

  • Can you re-carbonate flat soda this way? i.e. We buy Diet Pepsi 2 Liter bottles and in 2 days they are half full, half flat, and fully disgusting, so we throw it out... Would squeezing out the air, putting on one of these tops and hitting it with your C02 contraption re-carbonate? I am presuming it would.

  • @NETWizzJbirk You mean like this... (search for Rk0jpQ5sDKg on YouTube). And the answer is: Yes, if you have a Fizz Giz.

  • high fructose corn syrup = fatty liver syndrome

  • @steelhorses2004 Have that cell phone near you? Do you drive a car? Do you wear a oxygen mask outside? If not you are breathing in carcenogens.

  • why do you drink that poison?

  • I have a soda stream. I like it. The longer you hold down the carbonator button, the more co2 it puts in. You also get several liter bottles out of one tank of co2.

  • yeah soda rots your teeth. your best bet is tea's and crystal light gatorade, soda is bad for you

  • @boulespuantes I have been drinking soda my whole life (37 years). I have never had a single cavity or any mouth problems. I brush once a day if that. I must have super teeth ;-)

  • @TheSurvivalSummary I see, everyone is different. I used to drink tons of soda but I switched to arnold palmer....I feel so much better. But you guys keep doing what makes you happy

  • soda is shit for you, just drink water!

  • just kinda seems like more work than it is worth. Soda is pretty cheap to start with and I'm guessing by the end of it all you don't save that much money. Spilling the syrup has to be a nightmare to clean up. I enjoyed watching the video though!

  • one of the best videos I have ever seen on youtube, thank you so much

  • Weaned the family off of fizzy soda. Now we drink our AquaRain water and very diluted Crystal Light.

  • Is our wife swedish, and if not is that why you moved?

  • looks like fun thanks for showing

  • Sweet!

  • no offense man but this is the main cause to diabetes and to obese.

  • you must like soda

  • you must really like soda

  • Why would you need anything more than water in a survival situation? Plus, it's much more healthy.

  • @imRyRy Because you need more than just water. Salt, and electrolytes are important too. Plus anything that helps fight taste fatigue, but I think this would fall more under that category of 'comfort foods', especially if you have kids. Survival situations are stressful and it is kind of nice to have some comfort foods to help combat that too. Almost to the similar reason that some folks put coffee in their emergency supplies.

  • @wolfen26 The only things I drink are water and natural juices. If we needed more than water, how did humans survive before soda? If you drink good water, with added sea salt, you're drinking the best thing you can for your body. Soda is not beneficial to your body, it messes with your metabolism.

  • @wolfen26 SPOILER ALERT: Salts are Electrolytes! Electrolytes are just the scientific/medical name for Salts!

  • @minecraftcreeper2 Thanks for correcting me on that. My goof.

  • @imRyRy Who cares? I want soda, dont watch the video.

  • @nuclearthreat545 "Don't watch the video"? You're telling me to not watch a video from a channel I'm subscribed to (for good reason, I like survivalist stuff) because I shared my point of view? Or perhaps was it your love for soda that got you angry?

  • @imRyRy Remember the teddy bear or stuffed animal you had as a kid or one of your parents making a food that made you feel comforted? This is the same thing if you were in a survival at home situation. How many others know how to make pop at home?

  • @woodlandcammo27 That's called an addiction. Are you saying before pop was invented kids couldn't be comforted? Humans naturally don't need artificially high-sugar foods, but when you eat them constantly your body craves them.

  • we got the same glasses
