@drmega0226 I switched to mac back when XP was still the latest windows and Mac had OS X Tiger. Back in those days there really was no comparison, OS X was way ahead. Vista was a complete disaster but since installing Windows 7 on my mac I have to say I have been very impressed by it. The gap has certainly closed up in my opinion. Now it just comes down to personal preference. Microsoft had been bleeding market share to Apple and couldn't afford to get Windows 7 wrong. Luckily they didn't.
@kdum8 That's true about about MIcrosoft. I'm glad they got it right this time. I appreciate the non-biased reply. Keep using what serves your needs the best.
@drmega0226 Well one has to at least try and be objective. At the end of the day I just want a computer that works well. I don't really mind who makes it. @drmega0226 No wonder, i mean look at those ad's. In like every one microsoft has to involve apple somehow. This makes the apple fanbase really angry so the have to hate and hate and hate....
so much for your film making career honey, no idiot that edits uses a pc, never the less a laptop as a main editing machine. can you say slow ass hard drive.

@Ishcoa i would never buy a laptop for editing unless it was absolutely necessary, you can't add more storage, and who wants to carry a hard drive with them. that's also not true, as the size gets larger you get more memory, hdd space, the 15 and17's are a step up with the core i5 and i7 versus c2d processores, and when you hit the 17 you get the expresscard for expansion for esata, broadband internet access on the go etc. no harm intended but the pro's that use vegas are far and few
@IflyinGa they used to have 10,000RPM SAS drives as an option but have since dropped those because of small drive space (300GB) and now offer up to 4 512GB SSD options. personally i'd go with four cheap 2TB drives in a RAID 0, and then get a RAID array for external Firewire 800 or esata for backup, or on a local server.
@KingofComputing Ok imagine a 20k RPM HDD. OR even a SSD into a non mac. Way faster. Macs have under powered CPUS, and other hardware. Can a mac run the latest 6 core cpu? Nope. What about the future 12 core, even 8 core? Nope. Can it run the newest ATI/Nvidia cards? The cards that former ATI will make? Nope. Can they run the newest Intel and AMD motherboards? Nope. That is why macs are slow. A lack of a combination of different parts. A good PC will have parts that work together.
@IflyinGa what are you talking about? macs only use parts that work togetther. and the new mac pro uses 12 cores. it has dual 6 core xeons in it, and it's one of the fastest workstations out there. it can run the newest radeon 5770 and 5870, the gtx 285, the 4870 the 3870, gt120, 8800gt, x1900xt which i have in my three year old one. it has tons of option, and upgrade cards keep becoming readily available. macs are not slow. run geekbench and tell me what you get. i get 10,500
@IflyinGa ya, 12 cores, that's the same as hp workstations, what's the matter there. this isn't a server it's a workstation. the iMac uses the 4670, 5670, or the 5750 with 1G of DDR5 so yes, it has the latest cards. i ran mine in 32 bit too, so just tell me your score. no one runs it in 64 bit only organizations with lots of them to test. it is a test of your cpu horsepower and ram speed only, the most important tests of a computer. unless you game the vga is almost pointless in benchmarking.
12 cores is still nothing try 16, or even 24 cores. And I will run 64 to get the full out of my system.
32 bit means nothing to me, 32 bit of course I will have a low score because my system is built for solely for 64 bit. And the imacs with those are Over priced.
I can build a better PC than the mac pc for a better price.
Also VGA mobo, and HD all matter in a benchmark to me because guess what. I game.
@IflyinGa the mac pro's have 24 virtual cores because of hyper threading, and i would love to see these 16 core computers out there. what processors are they using? ha? oh and i know that 64 bit is better, trust me when i run cs5 i'm glad it's 64 bit because i use all 8 cores on mine and render in AE extremely quick. that's great that you game, but for some of us we use our mac pro's solely for work. sure a mac with a 5870 will game great, but we care about rendering. i use RAID 0 for perf.
@KingofComputing Know what beats that? AMD 1055T And guess what? You can unlock cores to get the same performance, even better than the mac. And know what? Many many companies do not use macs for work, i.e server and personal use.
So good for you wasting money to work on an over priced crap I could build for cheaper with OS X not hacked.
And like I said, the macs with the high end vgas are Over Priced. Macs are outdated and always will be.
@IflyinGa that's your opinion and you're entitled to it, and so am i, and my opinion is that macs are more stable than pc's when on their native hardware, they are more secure, and they run better software. you can't run Final Cut Studio on a PC and that's the industry standard video editing suite.
@IflyinGa Don't start critiquing me. guess what. for 90% of the world windows and linux is fine, but for us creative professionals out there that rely on software designed for the mac, we need the platform, and no. macs are not the easiest to hack. it's called unix, learn about it and it's security and then come back and talk to me, and no you can't just slap windows on a mac, you need to emulate a bios because macs have a newer EFI not an ancient BIOS. your lack of knowledge is disturbing.
@KingofComputing Apparently you have not heard. A mac was first to get hacked in 2 minutes at a tourny. At the next tourny the same guy,(after apple fixed the problem) hacked into the mac the same way.
@IflyinGa you said you can dual boot on a mac which is a pc, but they're not the same. an ibm compatible pc has a bios, which a mac doesn not. macs do not have a slow old 16 bit basic input output system, they have a new 32/64 bit Extensible Firmware Interface therefore windows will not run on it natively.
@IflyinGa yes you can't run windows on it unless you run the apple utility bootcamp first which partitions a section of the hard drive, adds a master boot record, makes it a windows partition, and has the necessary drivers for a "BIOS Mode" for windows and linux.
@IflyinGa your so stupid. EFI offers more features than BIOS, and is almost always quicker. Intel is the one that made EFI in 2005 and only apple has adopted it and gateway, but the problem is that windows and linux aren't using the technology. you can look up EFI if you want and you'll see how much better it is. it's the way of the near future, and apple see's this and wants to make their products more advanced. microsoft realized this and 64 bit versions of Vista SP1 & 7 can run on EFI mobos.
@IflyinGa well that's still a small percent of people either way. most people do it straight up one os, or they do a seperate computer for other oses. i don't like to mix different oses because if something goes wrong with the hard drive, then i loose double data.
@IflyinGa oh and take a good look at the apple scores. you'd be surprised how high they score. just because the top scores are full of linux servers and workstations doesn't mean that when it comes to normal computer that apple doesn't reign. sure, they may have 12 core AMD workstations, but trust me, put a similairly priced HP or Dell to an Apple Mac Pro and you'll be surprised how close they come.
have fun editing video on a windows based machine. you've got what options, adobe premiere pro which is the most disfunctional "professional" video editor out there, or you can pay $2599 for avid media composer which is the most unintuitive editor out there, or you can buy a mac, and get final cut express or final cut studio, have power, opencl for rendering faster, and firewire which is necessary for capturing video. personally, i'd get a desktop. you need more than 4 or 6GB of ram for editing.
@b2ball6playa2 hmm, lets see, oh ya that's right, you could just right click with the embedded right click button on every apple mouse or use a much more intuitive two finger click on the laptops, all you have to do is enable secondary click in system preferences.
You know, I think out of all of the adverts, this woman should have got the Mac. Sure, with the others it's debatable but come on; portable and good for video editing! Oh great, windows movie maker and a slab!
okay peoplethis is RIDICULOUS nobody's perfect and nothing is perfect (including OSs) but seriously people get over the Mac VS Pc (or PC vs Mac) seriously get over yourselves
@b2ball6playa2 FFF you are missing the point. I already explained it to you. The bottom like is this: she could have got a mac with the RAM she wanted below 2000 dollars.
@b2ball6playa2 You were the one who started the argument about RAM, and how the Pro doesn't have enough.
Also, a laptop is just another computer, why not upgrade the RAM. Some people (me) use a laptop for their main computing needs. People using desktops as their main computers are decreasing in number.
@b2ball6playa2 You should really pay attention and realize there is only 10 screws on the bottom plate to access your RAM, HDD, and battery. You also don't have to take it to the Apple Store, it's a very easy switch out for 240 bucks yourself. Even if it is a laptop, if you're going to do anything with graphics or video your going to need RAM and CPU power. So it would be dumb not to upgrade (if available) if you're going with a laptop as your work horse.
@b2ball6playa2 DDR3 at 1066 isn't cheap if you want 8gb plus looks like can get it closer to $200, numbers were a little outdated. Which is about what you would spend across the board. For $1,000 it does have everything I need, but I'm a power user and want more. If your an Adobe user you know how RAM hungry their programs are. But I could say $200-400 for Windows 7 ultimate 64 bit vs $30 for OSX Snow Leopard. Someone is getting YOUR money, who do you want it to be? It's all relative in the end.
@b2ball6playa2 Just remember you have to be running 64 bit Windows to be able to use more than 3 and to run anything newer than XP it takes about 956MB of RAM just to run. Also a Mac is a PC.
@b2ball6playa2 You can mix and match all you want to get the cheapest computer possible. But remember, when you buy cheap those companies are putting the cheapest components into what you're buying, most of the time. Case in point the Dell XPS systems that were built 2 years ago, mobos were burning up in large quantity. Your support for products that go bad (I hope they don't) are going to be everywhere and most likely talking to a guy in India. Lastly your "really good" RAM I found for $86.99.
@b2ball6playa2 Mac claims? Do you mean Apple claims that the Mac OSX runs faster than...what exactly? Look, I can tell you're just stuck on Windows, which is fine I still enjoy building gaming rigs and still run Windows on them. But in the end the Mac OS is amazing, Apple is a great hardware company. Spending the money for a Mac is no different than getting an Alienware because they to make solid products. I'm just trying to get you to look at the pros and in the end you get what you pay for.
@Stickmaleboy why does no one get these. they are paid to get a windows computer not a mac because they are advertising windows. if she said she wanted a mac they would be like screw you im not giving you any money.
@Stickmaleboy hmm? I got a pc from 2005 with windows xp had no problems with it . Upgraded to vista had minor problems upgraded to winodws 7 from day 1 and no problems and everything works. Its not my fualt I was smarter...
That's just your case. Please don't use personal stories in arguments like these. It's common knowledge that PCs are generally less durable than macs are. Also, they are far less susceptible to viruses.
its a ad, i mean PC user didn't get mad a Apple Ad. I'm a Mac and a PC SUCKS. They burned Vista. I mean Microsoft is doing less harm than what Apple did to them.
@K2ACP Mac ads tell everybody that PC sucks but that ad tells users that they have a cheaper option of hardware. And people stop comparing Apple with Microsoft. You can compare Apple with Dell, HP or whatever, or compare OS X with W7. But Microsoft gets nearly all its money from OS on the other hand Apple gets it from Hardware.
When buying a laptop, or any computer, you only should pay for hardware, the OS is not really related to the computer. If you want to use MAC OS, just buy any brand/model with the best value and install MAC OS on it. If you have too much money and like apple desing you can also buy a mac, and if you want, install windows on it.
@K2ACP AFAIK they are not straight out illegal (they only break the EULA) and there is pretty much zero risk, and if it just kept crashing you just did something wrong.
@madmax404 it is straight out ilegal, it mentions that if you use OS X for the manufacturing of nuclear weapons in there, all of that is illegal, one of my friends dad got arrested and put in jail for a year and tagged with a heavy fine for illegally downloading music, they do not take these things very lightly. i probably did something wrong, but i wasn't aware of it, and i'm still not. i will not try again, because the bootloader for vista got fscked up. i think it's because my laptop sucks
@K2ACP Nuclear weapons? wtf? And illegal downloading, the thing that pretty much everyone with knowledge of computers does, has nothing to do with this, because you can just buy a legit copy of MAC OS for your hackintosh if you want.
Also yes she was open to any brand, she clearly states that the mac she considered didn't have enough RAM. And anyway if she would not have liked apple she wouldnt even have checked out the macs.
@madmax404 it says that it is ilegal to run OS X on non-apple branded computers. u can upgrade to 4 gb for like $70 if you do it by yourself, big whoop
@cleveer0719 sony vegas is cool and all but if she is going in pro video editing final cut is the way to go, avid is very good to many studios use it but its cheaper to get a macbook pro and final cut studio than buying a good video editing pc+avid
@Imbosiliack And when you buy a Windows machine you get Windows Movie Maker. Free. Both are lower-end video editors with basic 'cut, crop, and transition' capabilities. No, iMovie is not this holy grail you all make it out to be. It really isn't.
@ahanix1988 it's a shitload better than movie maker, imovie is free on every mac. i don't see any free dvd maker or wysiwyg webmaker or a descent photo manager on any pc. and what you do get, you have to download
@K2ACP iMovie is shit, Windows Movie Maker is free on most PC's, Windows also has (holy crap) Windows DVD Maker, only cocksucking faggots use a WYSIWYG web maker, only pros need a "photo manager" (the rest of us just use folders which are easy to use on a Windows interfect). You act like downloading an application is so damn difficult.
@ahanix1988 how is imovie shit? it's WAAAAY better than wmm. it's the best FREE one there. where the hell do you get windows dvd maker? i have no clue where to find it. the WYSIWYG web maker in iLife is pretty good and it's free, i would much rather use that than notepad and making it out of HTML and CSS. i'm not a pro, and i quite frankly need a photo manager. the photo gallery thing is just an image viewer plus, iPhoto has a lot the effects the average guy would use
@K2ACP I had to use iMovie in school. Shit crashed constantly. You could not believe the student rage at 'iMovie has unexpectedly quit' we would all see daily. DVD Maker is bundled with Vista/7 Home Premium and higher. Windows Picture and Fax Viewer and MSPAINT have all the features an average guy would use (crop, rotate, resize, etc).
@ahanix1988 with free MSNM you get movie maker i believe. they do tend to crash. and loose all your data. but you dont mind, because you have a mac xD
@thenamewastaken1 well good luck with that sunshine both my parewnts have ibooks or pros and both of them needed to repair parts after a few month, and apple guarantee is shite
what for 2k youu can get a quad with more thean 3ghz with turbo, a 5670 and 4-8gigs of ram, and possibly even a touch screen... and 1333ram not some other crap
Since HP released their Envy17 lines of PC, all Macbooks fail to impress compared to it. All Envy17 have an ATI Radeon 5850 1GB GDDR 5 with Eyefinity and can be equipped with Core i7 720qm which is a quadcore Clarksfield CPU much better than Macbook dualcore Arrandale CPU IMO. And it is under 2000 euro far better and cheaper than any Macbook in Europe, Oh BTW it is also a unibody magnesium casing > Macbook aluminium casing. Peace!
I wondered where all the Apple salesmen congregated at after business hours... Apparently they're still hard at working trying to convert everyone on youtube to get a Mac.
@nifedj Nowhere in my comment did I say you were a fanboy. I said that there is no evidence that supports the claims you were making. If your Apple machine is faster than your Windows machine, that doesnt mean that Apple is better. It simply means you have a crappy PC.
And how exactly is a Mac more efficient? Ive seen both Macs and PC do the same task, and neither is faster.
@FoodMoTron3k The fanboy comment was on your other comment, joking that people commenting who liked Macs were Apple salesmen.
Forget comparing machines - try the same machine. OS X boots quite a lot faster than Win 7 on the same computer through Boot Camp. Apple designs its computers, hardware and software, as one product - this allows the OS to make better use of resources.
@nifedj Yes, because apparently a lot of Mac users here act like salesmen.
If your Apple machine isnt booting faster with Win7, then you must be a anomaly, because according to most Apple fanatics, Windows 7 is 30% faster on a Mac.
I use an hp, and I say: use whatever the hell you want to use.

KingofComputing 1 year ago
@KingofComputing
I game.
IflyinGa 1 year ago
@IflyinGa the mac pro's have 24 virtual cores because of hyper threading, and i would love to see these 16 core computers out there. what processors are they using? ha? oh and i know that 64 bit is better, trust me when i run cs5 i'm glad it's 64 bit because i use all 8 cores on mine and render in AE extremely quick. that's great that you game, but for some of us we use our mac pro's solely for work. sure a mac with a 5870 will game great, but we care about rendering. i use RAID 0 for perf.
KingofComputing 1 year ago
@KingofComputing Know what beats that? AMD 1055T And guess what? You can unlock cores to get the same performance, even better than the mac. And know what? Many many companies do not use macs for work, i.e server and personal use.
So good for you wasting money to work on an over priced crap I could build for cheaper with OS X not hacked.
And like I said, the macs with the high end vgas are Over Priced. Macs are outdated and always will be.
Software sucks too.
IflyinGa 1 year ago
@IflyinGa that's your opinion and you're entitled to it, and so am i, and my opinion is that macs are more stable than pc's when on their native hardware, they are more secure, and they run better software. you can't run Final Cut Studio on a PC and that's the industry standard video editing suite.
KingofComputing 1 year ago
@KingofComputing Not my opinion over 90% of the worlds' opinion.
My computer is more stable, and it is on unnative hardware. Macs are the easiest to hack. And I could.
Called dual boot. Plus I can run it on a mac which is a PC.
Your lack of terms are disturbing.
IflyinGa 1 year ago
@IflyinGa Don't start critiquing me. guess what. for 90% of the world windows and linux is fine, but for us creative professionals out there that rely on software designed for the mac, we need the platform, and no. macs are not the easiest to hack. it's called unix, learn about it and it's security and then come back and talk to me, and no you can't just slap windows on a mac, you need to emulate a bios because macs have a newer EFI not an ancient BIOS. your lack of knowledge is disturbing.
KingofComputing 1 year ago
@KingofComputing Apparently you have not heard. A mac was first to get hacked in 2 minutes at a tourny. At the next tourny the same guy,(after apple fixed the problem) hacked into the mac the same way.
And did I say emulate Windows on a mac?
Your lack of reading comprehension is disturbing.
IflyinGa 1 year ago
@IflyinGa you said you can dual boot on a mac which is a pc, but they're not the same. an ibm compatible pc has a bios, which a mac doesn not. macs do not have a slow old 16 bit basic input output system, they have a new 32/64 bit Extensible Firmware Interface therefore windows will not run on it natively.
KingofComputing 1 year ago
@KingofComputing I said I can dual boot on a non mac. "And I could.
Called dual boot"
Very different from what you think I said.
All I need is an apple motherboard which I can get.
IflyinGa 1 year ago
@IflyinGa YOU CAN"T DUAL BOOT ON A NON MAC WITH AN APPLE MOTHERBOARD!! THEY LACK A BIOS!!!
KingofComputing 1 year ago
@KingofComputing CAPS MAKE YOU COOL SO MUCH DUDE!!!!
So, I cannot dual boot with a mac motherboard? From an Imac, which can run Windows, according to the apple site.
Plus I can run OS X on a non mac, and Win7, and any other OS. But why would I win OS X sucks.
IflyinGa 1 year ago
@IflyinGa yes you can't run windows on it unless you run the apple utility bootcamp first which partitions a section of the hard drive, adds a master boot record, makes it a windows partition, and has the necessary drivers for a "BIOS Mode" for windows and linux.
KingofComputing 1 year ago
@KingofComputing Another reason why apple fails, need boot camp to dual boot.
Fail apple is fail/
IflyinGa 1 year ago
@IflyinGa your so stupid. EFI offers more features than BIOS, and is almost always quicker. Intel is the one that made EFI in 2005 and only apple has adopted it and gateway, but the problem is that windows and linux aren't using the technology. you can look up EFI if you want and you'll see how much better it is. it's the way of the near future, and apple see's this and wants to make their products more advanced. microsoft realized this and 64 bit versions of Vista SP1 & 7 can run on EFI mobos.
KingofComputing 1 year ago
@KingofComputing
Like I said, run all three OSes on one computer, problem solved.
Don't have to do much if you know what you are doing.
And people who run more than one OS use a combo of Linux and Win more.
IflyinGa 1 year ago
@IflyinGa well that's still a small percent of people either way. most people do it straight up one os, or they do a seperate computer for other oses. i don't like to mix different oses because if something goes wrong with the hard drive, then i loose double data.
KingofComputing 1 year ago
@IflyinGa oh and take a good look at the apple scores. you'd be surprised how high they score. just because the top scores are full of linux servers and workstations doesn't mean that when it comes to normal computer that apple doesn't reign. sure, they may have 12 core AMD workstations, but trust me, put a similairly priced HP or Dell to an Apple Mac Pro and you'll be surprised how close they come.
KingofComputing 1 year ago
@IflyinGa um no, if you read what i said they have 512gb Solid State Drives which are much faster than mechanical drives.
KingofComputing 1 year ago
have fun editing video on a windows based machine. you've got what options, adobe premiere pro which is the most disfunctional "professional" video editor out there, or you can pay $2599 for avid media composer which is the most unintuitive editor out there, or you can buy a mac, and get final cut express or final cut studio, have power, opencl for rendering faster, and firewire which is necessary for capturing video. personally, i'd get a desktop. you need more than 4 or 6GB of ram for editing.
KingofComputing 1 year ago
@KingofComputing yep, ill get a mac to edit video... wait how do i rightclick?!?!?!?! GAUURHGHGHD
b2ball6playa2 1 year ago
@b2ball6playa2 hmm, lets see, oh ya that's right, you could just right click with the embedded right click button on every apple mouse or use a much more intuitive two finger click on the laptops, all you have to do is enable secondary click in system preferences.

@Stickmaleboy
Ok, ill buy a pc and upgrade the ram
b2ball6playa2 1 year ago
@b2ball6playa2 It's like I am arguing with a wall.

@Stickmaleboy and spend more money when buying the ram
b2ball6playa2 1 year ago
@b2ball6playa2 FFF you are missing the point. I already explained it to you. The bottom like is this: she could have got a mac with the RAM she wanted below 2000 dollars.
Stickmaleboy 1 year ago
@Stickmaleboy But that was the only mac with the right price and it only had 2 gb of ram...
b2ball6playa2 1 year ago
@b2ball6playa2 Then she could have upgraded the RAM (but no through Apple) and still have kept the price below 2000 dollars.

b2ball6playa2 1 year ago
@b2ball6playa2 Open the screws my god.
Stickmaleboy 1 year ago
@Stickmaleboy one more thing, this is a laptop, why the fuck would you care about upgrading ram on a laptop?
b2ball6playa2 1 year ago
@b2ball6playa2 You were the one who started the argument about RAM, and how the Pro doesn't have enough.
Also, a laptop is just another computer, why not upgrade the RAM. Some people (me) use a laptop for their main computing needs. People using desktops as their main computers are decreasing in number.
Stickmaleboy 1 year ago
@b2ball6playa2 You should really pay attention and realize there is only 10 screws on the bottom plate to access your RAM, HDD, and battery. You also don't have to take it to the Apple Store, it's a very easy switch out for 240 bucks yourself. Even if it is a laptop, if you're going to do anything with graphics or video your going to need RAM and CPU power. So it would be dumb not to upgrade (if available) if you're going with a laptop as your work horse.
fulleride05 1 year ago
@fulleride05 I built my computer, but why the heck would you upgrade your 1000+ mac, it should have everything you need on it...
240 bucks for ram? youve gotta be kidding me...
b2ball6playa2 1 year ago
@b2ball6playa2 DDR3 at 1066 isn't cheap if you want 8gb plus looks like can get it closer to $200, numbers were a little outdated. Which is about what you would spend across the board. For $1,000 it does have everything I need, but I'm a power user and want more. If your an Adobe user you know how RAM hungry their programs are. But I could say $200-400 for Windows 7 ultimate 64 bit vs $30 for OSX Snow Leopard. Someone is getting YOUR money, who do you want it to be? It's all relative in the end.
fulleride05 1 year ago
@fulleride05 I'll stick to my PC with 6 gigs for 160 bucks
b2ball6playa2 1 year ago
@b2ball6playa2 Just remember you have to be running 64 bit Windows to be able to use more than 3 and to run anything newer than XP it takes about 956MB of RAM just to run. Also a Mac is a PC.
fulleride05 1 year ago
@fulleride05 Ok so i found 64 bit windows...
100 dollars
parts for computer... 359 dollars
the extra really good 6 gigs of ram... 160
how much in total = 620 dollars
mac = 1000+
hmm which one?
b2ball6playa2 1 year ago
@b2ball6playa2 You still have a piece of shit OS.

PlRATEBAY 1 year ago
@PlRATEBAY Now that's an OS I would like to use. My cousin had it on a laptop he brought back from China sparked some curiosity.
fulleride05 1 year ago
@b2ball6playa2 You can mix and match all you want to get the cheapest computer possible. But remember, when you buy cheap those companies are putting the cheapest components into what you're buying, most of the time. Case in point the Dell XPS systems that were built 2 years ago, mobos were burning up in large quantity. Your support for products that go bad (I hope they don't) are going to be everywhere and most likely talking to a guy in India. Lastly your "really good" RAM I found for $86.99.
fulleride05 1 year ago
@fulleride05 It's funny because mac claims it just runs faster
b2ball6playa2 1 year ago
@b2ball6playa2 Mac claims? Do you mean Apple claims that the Mac OSX runs faster than...what exactly? Look, I can tell you're just stuck on Windows, which is fine I still enjoy building gaming rigs and still run Windows on them. But in the end the Mac OS is amazing, Apple is a great hardware company. Spending the money for a Mac is no different than getting an Alienware because they to make solid products. I'm just trying to get you to look at the pros and in the end you get what you pay for.
fulleride05 1 year ago
@fulleride05 I'm not stuck with windows, im actually upgrading to windows 7 this year and i cant wait...

@K2ACP Mac ads tell everybody that PC sucks but that ad tells users that they have a cheaper option of hardware. And people stop comparing Apple with Microsoft. You can compare Apple with Dell, HP or whatever, or compare OS X with W7. But Microsoft gets nearly all its money from OS on the other hand Apple gets it from Hardware.

mandowarrior123 1 year ago
When buying a laptop, or any computer, you only should pay for hardware, the OS is not really related to the computer. If you want to use MAC OS, just buy any brand/model with the best value and install MAC OS on it. If you have too much money and like apple desing you can also buy a mac, and if you want, install windows on it.

@K2ACP AFAIK they are not straight out illegal (they only break the EULA) and there is pretty much zero risk, and if it just kept crashing you just did something wrong.
madmax404 1 year ago
@madmax404 it is straight out ilegal, it mentions that if you use OS X for the manufacturing of nuclear weapons in there, all of that is illegal, one of my friends dad got arrested and put in jail for a year and tagged with a heavy fine for illegally downloading music, they do not take these things very lightly. i probably did something wrong, but i wasn't aware of it, and i'm still not. i will not try again, because the bootloader for vista got fscked up. i think it's because my laptop sucks
K2ACP 1 year ago
@K2ACP Nuclear weapons? wtf? And illegal downloading, the thing that pretty much everyone with knowledge of computers does, has nothing to do with this, because you can just buy a legit copy of MAC OS for your hackintosh if you want.

@Imbosiliack And when you buy a Windows machine you get Windows Movie Maker. Free. Both are lower-end video editors with basic 'cut, crop, and transition' capabilities. No, iMovie is not this holy grail you all make it out to be. It really isn't.
ahanix1988 1 year ago
@ahanix1988 it's a shitload better than movie maker, imovie is free on every mac. i don't see any free dvd maker or wysiwyg webmaker or a descent photo manager on any pc. and what you do get, you have to download
K2ACP 1 year ago
@K2ACP iMovie is shit, Windows Movie Maker is free on most PC's, Windows also has (holy crap) Windows DVD Maker, only cocksucking faggots use a WYSIWYG web maker, only pros need a "photo manager" (the rest of us just use folders which are easy to use on a Windows interfect). You act like downloading an application is so damn difficult.
ahanix1988 1 year ago

@FoodMoTron3k You replied to a post I made two pages of comment ago, and you try to imply that I'm a fanboy?
nifedj 1 year ago
@nifedj Nowhere in my comment did I say you were a fanboy. I said that there is no evidence that supports the claims you were making. If your Apple machine is faster than your Windows machine, that doesnt mean that Apple is better. It simply means you have a crappy PC.
And how exactly is a Mac more efficient? Ive seen both Macs and PC do the same task, and neither is faster.
FoodMoTron3k 1 year ago
@FoodMoTron3k The fanboy comment was on your other comment, joking that people commenting who liked Macs were Apple salesmen.
Forget comparing machines - try the same machine. OS X boots quite a lot faster than Win 7 on the same computer through Boot Camp. Apple designs its computers, hardware and software, as one product - this allows the OS to make better use of resources.
nifedj 1 year ago
@nifedj Yes, because apparently a lot of Mac users here act like salesmen.
If your Apple machine isnt booting faster with Win7, then you must be a anomaly, because according to most Apple fanatics, Windows 7 is 30% faster on a Mac.
Apple does not design the hardware.
