  • i have only saw our own irish people homeless no other s or blacks o the irish goverment look after them they put them in hotel would any agree

  • @racialireland then you mustnt get out much bud ...all over town is romanians beggin

  • Im a Law Student in Dublin and it shocks me how Dublin is so divided in terms of wealth. Take Claridon Street, on one side of the road we have Louis Vuitton whereas opposite you will always see the homeless. Imagine how hard it must be for them to see a customer in Louis Vuitton spending €1K-€2K on a handbag!? In a first world country it disgusts me that homlessness is even a reality in our nation. Convicted criminals have the right to food and shelter but those who need it most are forgoton

  • strung out

    junkie look at his face

  • his crazy o.0 why in the world is he drawing on the streets lol i would be to shy todo that even though am homeless i would buy a tent set it up in a park then get food from those free food placese then make friends .... and enjoy life ...

  • @Dreameatertv it helps him pass his day and how help him keep warmish and tell you what to do is go try it for a week or two in the middle of winter and lets see just how long you would last as i bet you wouldnt

not knowing when you would get something warm to eat etc

  • @alanrae1989 why does he not save the money he gets ? bread is like 30 cent lol and a pack of bread can keep you for like 3 days ;) and those cokes in dunnes are like 50 cent for a big one.... oh and he can make a campfire :) to keep warm ... and he can drink alot of tea :) surviving needs alittle brain and thinking ..

  • This guy is lovely...

  • zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  • How do you know if you give a homeless person money they won't spend it on drugs? What are they supposed to spend it on? It's not like they're going to take a run to IKEA for a wall unit or a new rug.

  • seen this lad a few wks ago down from stephens green hope hes doing well, lotsa talent...hope he gets places

  • I havent read the comments but how to i know if i give a homeless person 20c they wont spend it on drugs???

  • Everything he says is complete, he'd pass the lie detector, except the bent Fianna Fail ones.

  • great great documentry. Sound was a bit arsed esp when you guys were on the steps. Other than that, great stuff. The man sounded like a really good chap down in the luck. Since this was 2 years back, i hope he's got a bed and a job now! :) *fingers crossed*

  • Subject and content wise this is very good, Sound could be a little better and the video of the interviewer and interviewee is a bit flooded by light, But like i said, the content is great, Would never usually give money to a beggar but id give this dude some cash if i seen him, seems like a decent guy who's stuck in a bad situation, your video might make him a few quid in the end of the day so its a good job you did

  • Fair play to him! he seems so decent, he deserves alot more!

  • Good video.Hadn't seen it before

  • im a homeless girl in dublin and i really think this video is great people dont get a good look at what we really go through. i beg on the ha penny bridge to get money to spend my nights safe in an internet cafe as i am a single girl and more at risk. i would love to get talking to you

  • Excellent video. Hope he finds a way out!

  • I was a good friend of Eifee`s and he is a very nice bloke. I have`nt seen him for a while I hope he`s doing well. I`ll just say one thing about 99.9% of these guys tapping on the streets they are only doing it for drink or drugs and you might be surprised to know that Eifee and other guys would easily make £100 in a couple of hours doing that.

  • He has my prayers, I hope he finds his way. Goodluck to him, he's talented too at what he does, seen him passing there a few times just at the Molly Malone statue.

  • Gutted, if I was in dublin anymore I'd look for this lad and throw him some dough, will be on my mind next time I'm there.

  • The guy is called Paul and is an aquaintance of mine.He is on a methadone course now and doing a college course too.Good on ya Effie!!

  • I saw him a week ago or so. This is so weird... I feel so ashamed that I've walked by him without giving money now :S

  • Good video sad to see people on the street and thanks to focus for helping

  • Hey Michelle, that was brilliant. Well done, a great issue to focus on. Even just by giving him a proper voice you're going some way to helping him restore some semblance of autonomy. What a nice guy though. His graphics are always amazing. How long ago was it made? Is there any news on how he's getting on? I haven't seen him in a few weeks but I could just be missing him.

  • Alexpodria, without a permanant address, you can't have a bank account, without a bank account you can't get paid from an employer, and how do you apply for a job without an address to receive the notification of an interview?

Most jobs actually require you to show a full driving license or passport as part of the application procedure, making it impossible to even apply for work, as these documents cannot be gained without providing a permanent residency.

Michelle, your video made me cry.x

  • That was awesome!

  • Forgive all of you my ignorance, but being from a country like Brazil, I wonder... how can a person in 21st century Ireland be jobless? Coming from a country where people don't earn a minimum for survival, where minimum wages are roughly under €70 eur/month, where people don't have the opportunity to even go to school and learn to write because they are conceived with the thought that "if I have a child, I'll have one more hand to beg & bring food", I wonder... guys, HOW CAN YOU NOT FIND A JOB?

  • @alexpdoria why dont you come over and try? Many graduates with first class degrees can't even find work at the moment.

  • :D -

  • Very nice short documentary. Congratulations for the initiative.
