  • RIP Jackie, show them the beauty of your music in the next world.

  • A wonderful, larger than life character who shed light in the darkest corners, sadly missed, the voice of a Troubadour and a real Humanitarian

  • Great musician, fantastic voice and wonderful human being... Jackie we will miss you. RIP.

  • RIP, Jackie. A true giant of a man in all senses.

  • Classic.

  • A terrible loss. A great musician and master of words. Rest in peace, Mr. Fife!

  • Rest In Peace, Jackie.

  • So sad to hear that this great musician died of cancer last night. God bless him for he was a genius and a warm hearted man whose music touched many people.

  • RIP Jackie Leven (passed away last night)

  • Get well soon Jackie.

  • Criminally underrated artist. A singer songwriter just as great as Neil Young, Leonard Cohen, and Van Morrison,

  • back in the late 70's early 80's i couldn't get ONE friggin human being to share my passion for doll by doll.my cat liked it but he liked everything except suicide which freaked him out.and captain beefheart (arty bullshit),though he did try to eat the cover of trout mask replica.after the third album i would have bet that jackie was a prime candidate for rocknroll casualty-hood,right next to peter perritt.glad to see that he not only survived but is still great...pete's just lucky to be alive.

  • Brilliant,as ever!

  • Jetzt endlich remastered und in Top- Qualität auf DVD (MIG 90377) erhältlich.

  • @riku162 I know the song your'e on about. It's called Washing by hand. Can't remember which album it's on. I know there is a live version on the Haunted year [Summer] Album.

  • @bikerboygeoff Studio version is on 'Creatures of Light and Darkness'

  • "This is a song for those men - God bless 'em all"

    Just great!

  • God bless Jackie Leven

  • Excellent - the new John Marrtyn? (That is a compliment by the way!)

  • We´ll never have one like him again

  • This is exceptional, really intense, lyrically brilliant, and what a voice, he's some a long way since the days of John St.Field

  • come and play at The Bell again!

  • (walcot st, bath uk)

  • Jackie is the best. I am looking forward to the 2008 concerts. He is amazing, every time!

  • I hear him for the first time, and...wow...he's really amazing!

    Great playing, great singing!

  • My boat is so small and your sea is so immense...

  • Damn - this was shot 4 years ago today.

  • Does anyone know of any Doll By Doll footage?

  • I REALLY LOVE YOU JACKIE...ROCK ON!!!

  • Still listening to your music and waiting for the next consert in Norway..

  • Can´t explain why. This music touches my heart and brain. Beautiful and disturbing.

  • Simply AMAZING!

  • anyone got any doll by doll?

  • I got remember on mp3 but no vids

  • This man's music is brilliant and I will be seeing him live for the first time ever in Birmingham next month. I hope we won't be a 'cool' audience, but rather we will all get back slappingly drunk, hug, shake hands, exchange numbers and storm the streets to reclaim the long lost art of baying at the moon.

  • kennt vielleicht jemand den liedtext von I've been everywhere von ihm? mich würde interessieren, ob er tatsächlich herrenberg gesungen hat?

  • Habe den Text nicht parat, aber er sang EDINBURGH.

    Gruß

  • I can imagine anything more likely to bring on homesickness than listening to J. Leven and Runrig in the same gig ( Volkshaus Zürich, Mara tour 98? I beleive hes from Leven, in the Kingdom of Fife, Scotland. Me too.

  • meant to say "cant imagine" or better still, havent expierenced more homesickness than then, although Runrig at the Singen Openair 2005? was close. Die crazy Deutschen in ihren Kilts wirkten so absurd das es mir dunkt ich bin in die falschen Film.

  • Thank god for Jackie Leven. Jacke is a true story teller, a poet, he being good at telling stories, about us men. Thanks again for sharing. See you around.

  • I had no idea he could pull that kind of crowd, Every time I've seen Jackie Leven he's been playing to a few dozen people.

  • Phantastic piece of music!

  • Nice to see some new Jackie footage.thanks!

  • best thing I've seen on YouTube
