  • Check out my Live Room and Danceclass uploads. They are the band that played on the Crocodile Shoes album and one of them, Tony McAnaney (aka Sticks in 'Spender'), wrote this title track. And as for Jimmy Nail (Bradford) he was a neighbour of mine in a cul-de=sac on Fairways Estate in Newcastle. My best memory of him is around 1972 when he was like a big pipe cleaner with Bolan style corkscrew hair. At the time Bolan was a massive influence on our little estate just like many others.

  • @ShortestFuse lol mine to

  • Remember listening too this track when i was a kid in my mums car, check british band kulu's debut video change of heart on youtube, there album no rider is on i tunes great listen

  • I grew up with this like everyone else and for some reason, for the past 10-15 years thinking it was shit without listening to it in all that time.

It's absolutely awesome though, the music is epic and Nail's voice is awesome.

    Years wasted!

  • hahaha! amazing!

  • I was a bit older than 5... maybe '6' : D

Nice to hear the older songs, they always last a lot longer than most of today's offerings... hey having said that, today's stuff will hold plenty of its own memories in 20 years :)

  • I love it how we all have the same experiences about this song. We were all 4-5 and our dads played it haha. It reminds me of when my dad used to take me to work with him and driving in the car with him when he used to spend time with me. Now he always works :( (Harry Chapin, Cats in the Cradle springs to mind)

  • one word ,,,, CLASS

  • Lol Jimmy Nail is singin so high in this song! I like it when Jim plays Oz in auf wiedersehen pet

  • Who the hell cares what the text is about! It's just a great song with a great tune behind it! Some people seem to be taking things way too serious!!! Back off!

  • Mr martyboy1984.

You seem to have 'Aint No Doubt' & Crocodile Shoes mixed up.

You my friend are a certain......

    LoL @ U!

  • This song is about someone who's hit rock bottom and all he has is the clothes on his back and the shoes on his feet!

Its nothing to do with Croc Skin or Hide's.

The term 'Crocodile Shoes' is with regards to having no tear ducts.

No matter what the world throws at him, nothing will make him cry!

  • you are a fucking idiot. that is absolutely the wrongest interpretation anyone could have taken from the song. it has nothing to do with not being able to cry, he's crying because of "how much love he has" for a woman who doesn't love him back. You sir, are a cretin.

  • and the songs id nothing to do with crocodiles or crocodile clothing

  • if you love this song why make it out to be bad with all the deadcrocs and belts

  • this song reminds me of my grandad rip

  • This song is dedicated to 2009Schnappi..
