I have a XFX GeForce 9600 GSO Fatal1ty Graphics Card and doesnt run any latest games at all.
In the description it says that the graphics card is designed especially for windows vista, i am using windows 7, does this mean that the games will only run smoothly on windows vista and not on windows 7.? plz reply i need to know
i got the zotac ddr3 one to replace my hd 4650 all mostthe same but the gso beats it a little like starcraft2 having full battleno problem and badcompany 2 acceptable i need bigger procssor i got e2150 duel core i think need e44oo but they dnt seel any more
Seeing as how the GTX 460 is right in the sweet spot price range and they are selling like hot cakes I wonder why they haven't made a video on it yet???
whats wrong with the 9600 GSO? it's a pretty good card actually because one of my buddies has it in his gaming computer. too bad im still using an integraded intel extreme graphics chipset which really isn't good for gaming lol
@george3dmax not really i have the Nvidia Geforce Verto 9600 GSO 768MB GDDR3 558MHz Core clock 1375 Shader Clock and it runs gta iv fine when my nvidia galaxy 8400 gs couldnt and its that verto 9600 gso is alot older!!!!!!! its 2yrs older then my 8400gs i got 8400gs in 2010 and the 9600 in 2008 and it kicks ass out of the 8400 by alot!!!!!!!!!! i can run gta iv on high settins while the 8400 low settings still lags sad so this must be better
@OneHeartLessGuy Yeah retail stores sell older GPU's for ridicilous prices.
I remember in 2006 I bought a Radeon 9250 from walmart for $79. The card was very low end and came out some 2 years before then and was only worth a fraction of the price.
I was in best buy the other day and stills saw some 8400GS's for sale!
Online vendors such as newegg is usually the best place to get video cards, just make sure your computers power supply can handle the card and the slots match,
i have the same graphics card i bought of Ebay about few months ago. when i put in to the graphics card slot and then oned the computer i couldnt see on DXDIAG that my graphic card is installed i even downloaded the drivers for it but doesnt say NVIDIA 9600 GSO i dnt why SOMEONE please please help me out i would be really thankfull to you. another thing i dont know is whether i you have to plug in the 6 pin pci express connecter to power it up.
my Nvidia 9600 GSO Verto is $110 but i have no 6-pin PCI connector so im using a different graphics card :P Nvidia Geforce Galaxy 8400 GS 512MB DDR2. graphics card it has-Specifications: 550MHz Core Clock-1375 Shader Clock-1600 MHz Memory Data Rate,effective-768MB GDDR3 Memory- 192-bit Memory Interface- 38.4 GB/sec. Memory Bandwidth-26.4 billion/sec. Texture Fill Rate_
Key Features- Nvidia unified architecture microsoft directX 10 shader model 4.0 support
Yes it is XD Truly I have Three of them =D an they are loud.. But they get the Job Done. About the only problem you will ever have with it is the newest video driver It makes Every thing To big Anyway Have fun An Enjoy it if you buy one
Well your computer is not built for gaming so if you get anything over 80 bucks it will be bottle-necked to shit by your crappy best buy motherboard and shitty 1999 sempron CPU or w/e, so your best off with a used 9600 GSO or 8800 GT from ebay or amazon.
I have the standard XFX 9600GSO 1GB and it does an awesome job for what I paid for it a year ago. Runs most games on high settings at 1680X1050. I was wondering though if there is much advantage in running them in SLI since I'm considering throwing in another one since the cost has gone down so much. Will I be able to run higher AA and texture settings? Any ideas are welcomed.
Yes just be sure that the rest of the system is up to the job such as having the right board that can support sli as well a decent psu. PS clean the one got.
XD But What I'm Getting At Is If your gonna Get Another 9600GSO Video Card You will see an improvement in video... I'd say 50% better Quality.WARNING If you Have Windows Vista 64/32 bit DO NOT UPGRADE TO THE NEWEST DRIVER It make's Every over sized an out of range... Anyway gotta run
I have Three They Run Like cheetahs :P An there loud But When I start a game up They have no problem Running the video weather or not it's counter strike,COD2,COD4 ,Halo Custom Edition, Doom 3,Or any other game ..
The original 9600 gso, the one that was a relabeled 8800gs, not the newer versions, will perform like a gt240, when overclocked will surpass it. A good overclock on an original 96 sp, 192 bit bus gddr3 gso will perform close to a 8800gt. Overall on paper they have very similiar specs.
Make sure its got the 192 bit bus with gddr3 and 96 stream processors. They come in different memory configs but if you can land the one the 768 mb on the 192 bit bus you'll get more longevity out of the card. It certainly isnt the fastest card on the planet but considering the price at that its still better than the more expensive gt240 its still a viable card. Don't be fooled by the new ones with 128 bit bus or 48 stream processors.
gt240 is actually better. it's better than all the gso's. it's just a tad (5% - 10% max) less powerful than the 9600 gt. and sometimes it's more powerful. but yes it's more expensive.
Vista and Win 7 can dedicate system memory for video cards. Stay away from these gimped 9600 gso cards, go for the older ones that had ddr3, 96 stream processors, and a 192 bit bus. Grabbed one for 60 bucks at bestbuy on clearance and will stomp the new 9600gso's.
@greyfoxzero finally!!!!! sum1 who knows about 9600gsos every1 buys the crappy 768mb version, the 768mb version suck!!!!! the 384mb version is real real good!
itsok but even world of war craft has gone heavy on the graphics now that there are so many cheap high spec cards out there my old 7900gtx is strugling with fps now
This guy doesn't know anything about computers...he just reads scripts and says it...he probably is some geek that plays pokemon on his gameboy...I see this guy mess up all the time of saying stupid crap...it's an easy job bring logan back!
ha i wasnt laughing at your comp, what i meant was start laughing now at my comp because it id by far not an optimal system but gets the job done :) want to start building a quad core system but low on funds. sounds like you have a nice setup as is. my processor is a dual core 2.4 ghz 6600 and have kingston ddr2 memory as well. Soundblaster is XFI extreme gamer
if you're lucky to find a bargain. I got mine for 50$ (with mail in rebate) plus it's factory oc. I have got to say it is the best 50 bucks i have ever spent. You get the most bang for ur buck.
yeah if you overclock the core to 610 or above, are playing on a resolution below 1920x1200 (24inch wide), and have anti-aliasing disabled, your probably good to go for a framerates above 45fps
@1TheBlindLeader1 The 9600 GSO is actually a re-branded 8800 GS which can barley reach 30 FPS on HL2 at medium settings. Many online magazines and review sites such as guru3d and hardocp consider 30FPS to be the lowest possible playable FPS rate, I myself consider anything under 50 FPS to be a graphical failure. Nvidia's 7, 8, and 9 series GPUS as well as ATIs HD 3850/3870 are very old, have a failed architecture and notorious for being sub-standard even disregarding the sheer age of the cards
Even the 4850, 4870, GTS 250, GTX 260 are approaching death and obsolescence with the release of Nvidias new GTX 460 (which fills the mid-range market), and GTX 470/480; the first nvidia cards to feature GDDR5 and DX11 on a 55nm chipset architecture, which is a big step up from the 65 and 95 nanometers of the 8800 GTX and 8800 ULTRA (cards which also fail). The 9600 GSO being below the above mentioned cards in speed, memory bandwidth, ROP's, etc, I would say no it cannot play most games. =D
@TheBlitz1 Wow, what a stupid comment. You obviously know nothing about computer hardware. Cannot play most games? WTF? Hell yeah this card will still play today's games, not at the maximum settings but at a decent setting that will still produce some very amazing frame rates. It's the 9600GSO dude. I had a RADEON HD 4350 that's almost 3 times less powerful than this 9600GSO and I'm still able to play any of today's games with it.
@vangstaz u r a noob. To really put some one down when that card is limited in what it can play. the fps are so low compared to other cards running in native res. maybe you run all you games at 800x600 so that you can have all the settings on high.
@PimpinSimpson21 Noob? I can't even understand your English my friend. You obviously don't know that graphics cards are catching up to modern games.
And of course, this GSO will lose to a GTX 275. BUT you have to learn how to compare graphics card to their competitors... which YOU can't seem to do.
Right, I had to play the new games with my older RADEON HD 4350 at 800x600. But does the game run? YES IT DOES. Playable at the best quality? No. BUT, the game still runs though, does it noob?
@TheBlitz1 You have no idea of what I just said eh? It doesn't take a $200 graphics card to play the latest games. Why? Because I have more experience than you ever had with the lower-end, mid-end, and high-end market. I can debate about this all day but I feel as if I'm wasting my time debating against someone who isn't ready for a debate like this, correct?
@vangstaz The 9600 GSO is actually a re-branded 8800 GS which can barley reach 30 FPS on HL2 at medium settings. Many online magazines and review sites such as guru3d and hardocp consider 30FPS to be the lowest possible playable FPS rate, I myself consider anything under 50 FPS to be a graphical failure. @vangstaz dude your just saying what you can to keep this going. Im running a egforce 9800 gtx+ so its not like im using one of the newest cards out there. please stop posting your just saying it to make me come on here and waist my time dealing with your inferior thinking about video cards and gaming.
@PimpinSimpson21 Is it because you have nothing else to counter what I just posted? Learn to compare graphics cards in the same level, then talk. Bye.
@vangstaz you don't know what your talking about, the 9600 GSO is a rebranded 8800 GS and the 8800 GS is a crippled 8800 GT and the 8800 GT is not even a good card.
@TheBlitz1 8800GT is not a good card? Dude, nVidia struck GOLD with that card back in the days. It may not be a good card for you but it is one hell of a card to most people still.
@TheBlitz1 Im from the future: No one wants an HD 5970 or a GTX 480. It's 10 years old... Yeah, I bet in 2007 you craved for the 8800GT. Stop your incompetence.
@vangstaz Nobody wants an 8800 GT or 9600 GSO, they cannot play current games, even you don't use it, I have 2 9600 GSO's as well as 7800 GT's 8800 GT's 9800 GT's 9600 GT's GTX 260's, GTX 295s, etc. I've ran dual 9600 GSO's in SLI and they can't even beat a 8800 GTX and you can buy an 8800 GTX for less than 2 9600 GSO's, this is why the 9600 GSO is not a viable economic or performance option.
@TheBlitz1 No body wants to buy a RADEON HD 5970 or the GTX 480 in abother ten years, and that's a fact. And you're right, dual 9600GSO's in SLI cannot outperform an 8800GTX, BUT you see the GSO is WEAKER than the 9600GT. Dual 9600GT's will perform just about the same as an 8800GTX or better.
@vangstaz In order for a 9600 GSO to be a good card, it has to be competitive economically and performance wise with other cards in the same price range, its not. The 9600 GSO was priced between 65 to 75 dollars. You can buy a single 9800 GT or 8800 GT for 80 to 90 dollars, those cards outperform the 9600 GSO by 15 to 20 FPS average on HL2DM/CSS/DODS. This shows how the 9600 GSO (8800 GS) has a crippled architecture.
@TheBlitz1 The 9600GSO is at the same level as the RADEON HD 4670, which is indeed priced at the $65 to $75 range. Notice that the 9800GT's in the $80-$90 range have a lower clock speed and shader clock speed than the normal 9800GT's up in the $120 range. Most 9800GT's in the $80-$90 range are not even as fast as the older 8800GT's which runs just as fast as the $120 9800GT's.
@TheBlitz1 Uhh yes you can rate your own comments, red neck. Try it yourself. If you want to play racist with me then go ahead, fucking donut. Remember, I didn't start this conversation, just to let your dumbass know.
@vangstaz as if you could see your own self only commenting back to make your self feel like your winning. you can NOT rate your own comments, so no im not doing it to make my self feel good. Its really others agreeing with me to say you dont know shit and need to stop posting stupid stuff when you dont know what your saying.
@vangstaz am I sweating? no. are you stupid. I didnt say i was comparing this card to a highend card. will you stop trying to put words in my mouth. I told you what card im running right now. a 7950 gt out does the 9600. and im not saying it will not run the games but for ppl that are like me and run games at native res not that you have any room to talk all you keep doing is saying im giving my self vote up when you can only vote up any comment ONCE so even if i did rate mine 3 others did too.
@PimpinSimpson21 No, remember you said that this card will lose to other cards at the same graphics settings? You DID NOT SPECIFY if the cards were the same level or higher performing. Be more specific dude. If you mentioned a competing card, like the RADEON HD 4670, then that's fair. But you didn't mention any other card so I assume you're comparing this card to the top of the line cards of today which makes absolutely no scene whatsoever.
@PimpinSimpson21 The $70 GSO seems to have a higher memory bandwidth than it's competitor, the RADEON HD 4670 at $70 as well. GSO is at 38.4GB/s while the RADEON is only at 32GB/s. 6600MP/s on the GSO while only 6000MP/s on the RADEON. 26400MT/s on the GSO and 24000MT/s on the RADEON. 12ROP's on the GSO, 8ROP's for the RADEON. Both cards use GDDR3 memory, but the GSO runs a bit slower. But it's backed up with 38.4GB/s in memory data rate, it's still faster than the HD 4670. Not bad at all eh?
@vangstaz the 9600 gso isn't a bad card because i own one right now. i dont understand why these people are saying that it sucks, atleast i get to play my games then im fine :D
@TheBlitz1 Yeah I'm pretty sure he would still get some amazing framerates with the GSO in most games at a decent resolution. My HD 4350 did fine with Crysis Warhead at 1280x720 on medium settings. The GSO will do even better.
@TheBlitz1 hey man i played everything down from nfs shift to crysis and i am fully satisfied with my gso card i had it for 2 years and there has never been any problem with it crysis runs an looks beautiful even in 720p at high settings with 4x aa :D
@PINKisGOOOD The only reason your satisfied is because you have no point of view regarding any card other cards, ignorance in this manner displays your bias, thus your opinion is overuled by mine, a person which has used and owns every single high end nvidia card since the 6800 GT. When I used dual 8800 GT's and benchmarked them against dual 9600 GSO's in the same system with 3DMark06, the GSO's were over 6 thousand 3dmarks less, and the price of dual GSO's is only $25 less than dual 8800 GT's.
@TheBlitz1 its the 9600gso dumbfuck, its not meant to go against the 8800gt and even 2 gso vs 2 8800gt ofcourse the 8800gts will be faster. can you atleast respect the 9600gso for what it is? i love the damn card because it has played all my games and movies i don't respect you because your a retarded kid who knows shit about graphics cards. really stop talking about your precious 8800gt for once okay baby? :D
@PINKisGOOOD besides me being a dumb fuck and a retarded kid baby, the point is the 9600 GSO was never a feasible option economically or perfromance wise, due to the fact that it is only 20 dollars more for a 8800 GT, while you gain 40% more performance.
@PINKisGOOOD Actually the 9600 GT and the 9600 GSO were manufactured at the same time. And since when does the ability to play movies reflect the performance ability of a product...
@TheBlitz1 one question what did my gso do to you that made you so mad? it's only a graphics card okay i like the card you don't so get over it because people have different preference. end of story
@TheBlitz1 i disagree to that and so will others what makes you think that the gso is not a viable option with modern graphics engines? its 2010 and this card was built in early 2008 cmon get your facts straight and respect the card for what it is will ya baby? and if you did own every card from the 6800 series then you shouhldnt be talking about how bad each card is but instead talk about there pros.
can you explain why i can play crysis in 720p high settings with 4x aa with my gso then?
@PINKisGOOOD Your not giving any specific testable facts, you just say "play" when performanceis measured in Frames Per Second, the simple fact is that the 9600 GSO is a rebranded 8800 GS, it cannot achieve even 30 FPS stable at 1600x1200 with all settings at maximum on HLS/DODS/CSS without AA and AS. That means it can defintley not run CryEngine 2 at even 12FPS on ANY resolution. My GTX 295 Superclocked + Core i7 930 struggle to reach 40FPS at 1920x1200 on high settings minus AA/AS.
@TheBlitz1 dude, it's a fucking mid-range graphics card. see you're comparing my gso to your 295 now thats fucking stupid. its the 9600gso alright? its not meant to go against the newer cards fucktard you dont seem to understand. this is a midrange graphics card this is a midrange graphics card this is a midrange graphics card!!!
crysis at my settings runs at an average of 30fps if you consider that not playable then your an idiot because 30fps is truly playable. why are you so ignorant?

@TheBlitz1 wow are you some kind of graphics card christian freak to come to peoples videos and convert them to buy what you think is good? im done waistin my time with you since you dont understand what makes a good graphics card.
its like saying my 4 door sadan vs your 18 wheeler who can hold more? the 18 wheeler dumbshit the 4 door sadan is not meant to carry all that load. thats it im done waisting time. go troll elsewhere troll ima go grab a pizza and play crysis on my shitty gso ok troll?

@TheBlitz1 okay. i get your point. no graphics card is good. you see, from your OPINION no graphics card can get a solid 50 fps at 1080p, 16x aa with maximum settings in crysis. you happy now you dumbfuck?
its only YOUR opinion that 50 fps is unplayable. your lying that magazins and guru3d are saying that 30fps is unplayable
consoles play at most only 30 fps if not less so your also saying that consoles are shit because of that? and again from your opinion, EVERY SINGLE FUCKING CARD SUCKS.
@TheBlitz1 as you can see, not every single fucking graphics card in this world is built for gaming obviously you have never played with anything lower than your precious 295 because you have no fucking knowledge to how the mid end and lower end graphics card peroform. my 9600gso at 720p, high settings with 4xaa WITH 30fps IS FUCKING IMPRESSIVE FOR A FUCKING MIDRANGE GRAPHICS CARD. the hd 3870 are old cards but they were fucking fantastic back in those days alright? learn the dates too kid
@TheBlitz1 and once again there are lower end cards, mid range card high end cards, older cards, and newer cards. each and every one of them DO NOT carry the same features as others. stop trolling and get this. you consider 50fps not playable and its a failure. I CONSIDER THAT 30FPS IS PLAYABLE its only your preferences, stop telling other people to believe what you think because we are all so damn tired of you ignorant people. i asked you a question earlier butthead, why are you so ignorant?
@TheBlitz1 and remember kid, mid range cards DO NOT compete against the top of the line cards thats just fucking stupid if you do that. and also, a FACT is that NOTHING is good or bad, as long as it works, IT IS GOOD. does the 9600gso work? YES! does the 8600gt work? YES! does the MX400 work? YES IT FUCKING DOES!! they ARE NOT the best cards but THEY FUCKING WORK! THEY ARE FUCKING ALIVE!!!!!!!!!! alright? stop fucking replying back to me saying all your bullshit because you have NO POINT.
@TheBlitz1 please dont go around in circles again about your fucking 50fps and guru3d bullshit because those are only opinions you can go ask others about this 50fps failure shit because i am damn sure every god damn person will disagree with each and every one of your little opinions. 30fps is very playable and thats why consoles, AND EVEN TV SHOWS, play at 30fps....... actually tv show play at only 24fps and man it still looks good.
@TheBlitz1 My HD 4350 did over 60 in HL2 at high settings at 1440x900, and it competes against the 9400GT. I don't understand why the 9600GSO will do worst. Maybe you lied about owning all the nVidia cards down from the 6800 GT's. Oh and the 6800GT is only about 10% faster than as my HD 4350 if you didn't know.
@TheBlitz1 are you ready to what i'm going to say?. i've played half life 2 maxed out on a very old computer with a single core CPU pentium 4 1.5 GHZ and geforce 2 mx but reflections and bloom effects definently weren't visible due to the version of vertex and pixel shaders on the card. actually. actually if you're talking about resolutions like 2560 * 1600 single 8800 GS or 9600 GSO is definently not good but i'm fine with 1920 * 1080, i could play all source games on max with HD 3870.
@vangstaz If your entire argument to prove the 9600 GSO is still viable lies within 6gb memory data rate difference, you should reconsider how you spend your time.
@TheBlitz1 Don't you see? It's FASTER than its competitor. What else do you NOT understand? Geezlaweez, how difficult can it be just to understand how to compare graphics cards to their god damn competitors??????

yes it would in flight simulator... you can overclock it for maximum power... plus it has free a benchmark software which you can test your gpu.... also remember a good cpu... good luck
you could buy the cheap 9500 gt as an alternative, no more issues about the power supply, it's midrange, and you could crank Crysis to high settings, and it run smoothly, try it on Ultra high but with just a minor setback, a pause but still it runs smooth on most areas.. just have at least 2g of ddram
well 9500 gt has a 1g video card.. it sure do.. it is already direct x 10.0.. it's a budget card, but a decent one, I had this on my other PC, and yep! it's still powerful, do some research and still it's good
Mongol id recommend the 9600 GT 512mb GDDR3, you an check amazon, i know there is multiple used 9600 GT verto's on there for the same price as this card (sub $80).
The 256 bit memory bus and GDDR3 is what you want, those specifications should define mid range cards, the core, shader, and memory clock are dynamic and supplementary.
ive got this card running on dual 17" LCD monitors and it runs perfectly fine. My comp is a dell Optiplex 745 dual core with 4gb memory and a soundblaster sound card (start laughing now) but it runs FSX almost maxed, and Fallout 3 maxed perfectly fine. (only use one monitor for Fallout 3) and cant forget Oblivion :)
yeah maybe but im runing a dual core 2.8ghz overclocked @ 3.1ghz 2gb of ddr2 800mhz of kingston hyperx ram a 320gb wd black ed hard drive coolermaster tx3 cpu cooler blueray drive the 9600gso soundblaster se 7.1 sound card iv got 2 more gig of ram to put in when my new gigabyte mobo comes am3 ready
WoW or counter strike on a small monitor? I have a 9600GSO and it plays Far Cry 2 and Crysis at 1920x1200 with almost all settings at high and 16x AF.
It's a different version tho: 192 bit, 384Mb GDDR3
I liked watching this

My 9600gso blew itself up... Not the fatality one, but still.
Never got to use it either. But it was loud as hell. Never heard such a loud fan.

I have a XFX GeForce 9600 GSO Fatal1ty Graphics Card and doesnt run any latest games at all.
In the description it says that the graphics card is designed especially for windows vista, i am using windows 7, does this mean that the games will only run smoothly on windows vista and not on windows 7.? plz reply i need to know
hotspeed1 6 months ago
@hotspeed1 no it doesn't work like that, this card is way outdated that's why it can't run new games as good, you need an upgrade

whats wrong with the 9600 GSO? it's a pretty good card actually because one of my buddies has it in his gaming computer. too bad im still using an integraded intel extreme graphics chipset which really isn't good for gaming lol

@LeavesonTrees341 As long as the graphics card gets you from A to B then it's good. Plus most people don't play games all day.

OneHeartLessGuy 1 year ago
@OneHeartLessGuy The 8400GS came out in 2007 and was literally the slowest 8 series card you could buy.
The 9600GSO (G92) came out in 2008 and was a renamed 8800GS.
The 9600GSO and 8800GS have 96 stream processors while the 8400GT has 8 stream processors, so yeah the 9600 is quite a bit better than the 8400.
Protoking 1 year ago
@Protoking well at bestbuy it was new i guess i bought it for $79 at march at bestbuy
OneHeartLessGuy 1 year ago
@OneHeartLessGuy Yeah retail stores sell older GPU's for ridicilous prices.
I remember in 2006 I bought a Radeon 9250 from walmart for $79. The card was very low end and came out some 2 years before then and was only worth a fraction of the price.
I was in best buy the other day and stills saw some 8400GS's for sale!
Online vendors such as newegg is usually the best place to get video cards, just make sure your computers power supply can handle the card and the slots match,

TheMichiganNinja 1 year ago

The original 9600 gso, the one that was a relabeled 8800gs, not the newer versions, will perform like a gt240, when overclocked will surpass it. A good overclock on an original 96 sp, 192 bit bus gddr3 gso will perform close to a 8800gt. Overall on paper they have very similiar specs.
greyfoxzero 2 years ago
It's not the best card in the world, but for the price, its a deal
xxnecroxx2oo4 2 years ago
Make sure its got the 192 bit bus with gddr3 and 96 stream processors. They come in different memory configs but if you can land the one the 768 mb on the 192 bit bus you'll get more longevity out of the card. It certainly isnt the fastest card on the planet but considering the price at that its still better than the more expensive gt240 its still a viable card. Don't be fooled by the new ones with 128 bit bus or 48 stream processors.
greyfoxzero 2 years ago
gt240 is actually better. it's better than all the gso's. it's just a tad (5% - 10% max) less powerful than the 9600 gt. and sometimes it's more powerful. but yes it's more expensive.
rayright15 2 years ago
Vista and Win 7 can dedicate system memory for video cards. Stay away from these gimped 9600 gso cards, go for the older ones that had ddr3, 96 stream processors, and a 192 bit bus. Grabbed one for 60 bucks at bestbuy on clearance and will stomp the new 9600gso's.

1TheBlindLeader1 1 year ago
@1TheBlindLeader1 The 9600 GSO is actually a re-branded 8800 GS which can barley reach 30 FPS on HL2 at medium settings. Many online magazines and review sites such as guru3d and hardocp consider 30FPS to be the lowest possible playable FPS rate, I myself consider anything under 50 FPS to be a graphical failure. Nvidia's 7, 8, and 9 series GPUS as well as ATIs HD 3850/3870 are very old, have a failed architecture and notorious for being sub-standard even disregarding the sheer age of the cards
TheBlitz1 1 year ago
TheBlitz1 1 year ago
@TheBlitz1 to bad ati is raping nvidia right now!!!

@ldragonheart Except in that 460 market. ATI doesn't have an offering at that price point with similar performance (yet).
94XJ 1 year ago
@TheBlitz1 Wow, what a stupid comment. You obviously know nothing about computer hardware. Cannot play most games? WTF? Hell yeah this card will still play today's games, not at the maximum settings but at a decent setting that will still produce some very amazing frame rates. It's the 9600GSO dude. I had a RADEON HD 4350 that's almost 3 times less powerful than this 9600GSO and I'm still able to play any of today's games with it.
vangstaz 1 year ago
@vangstaz u r a noob. To really put some one down when that card is limited in what it can play. the fps are so low compared to other cards running in native res. maybe you run all you games at 800x600 so that you can have all the settings on high.
PimpinSimpson21 1 year ago

Why? TheBlitz1 1 year ago 2
@TheBlitz1 8800GT is not a good card? Dude, nVidia struck GOLD with that card back in the days. It may not be a good card for you but it is one hell of a card to most people still.
vangstaz 1 year ago
@vangstaz Nobody want's a 8800 GT, its 3 years old. Nobody wants a 9600 GSO either.
TheBlitz1 1 year ago
@TheBlitz1 Im from the future: No one wants an HD 5970 or a GTX 480. It's 10 years old... Yeah, I bet in 2007 you craved for the 8800GT. Stop your incompetence.
vangstaz 1 year ago
@vangstaz Nobody wants an 8800 GT or 9600 GSO, they cannot play current games, even you don't use it, I have 2 9600 GSO's as well as 7800 GT's 8800 GT's 9800 GT's 9600 GT's GTX 260's, GTX 295s, etc. I've ran dual 9600 GSO's in SLI and they can't even beat a 8800 GTX and you can buy an 8800 GTX for less than 2 9600 GSO's, this is why the 9600 GSO is not a viable economic or performance option.
TheBlitz1 1 year ago 2
@TheBlitz1 No body wants to buy a RADEON HD 5970 or the GTX 480 in abother ten years, and that's a fact. And you're right, dual 9600GSO's in SLI cannot outperform an 8800GTX, BUT you see the GSO is WEAKER than the 9600GT. Dual 9600GT's will perform just about the same as an 8800GTX or better.
vangstaz 1 year ago
@vangstaz In order for a 9600 GSO to be a good card, it has to be competitive economically and performance wise with other cards in the same price range, its not. The 9600 GSO was priced between 65 to 75 dollars. You can buy a single 9800 GT or 8800 GT for 80 to 90 dollars, those cards outperform the 9600 GSO by 15 to 20 FPS average on HL2DM/CSS/DODS. This shows how the 9600 GSO (8800 GS) has a crippled architecture.
TheBlitz1 1 year ago 2
@TheBlitz1 The 9600GSO is at the same level as the RADEON HD 4670, which is indeed priced at the $65 to $75 range. Notice that the 9800GT's in the $80-$90 range have a lower clock speed and shader clock speed than the normal 9800GT's up in the $120 range. Most 9800GT's in the $80-$90 range are not even as fast as the older 8800GT's which runs just as fast as the $120 9800GT's.

@PimpinSimpson21 No, I'm just saying, you CANNOT compare a mid-range card to a high-end card. Do you see a problem in that?
And plus, how can this video have over 100 views in less than 30minutes, and thumbs up you 4 time in less than 10 minutes? Sweating now??
vangstaz 1 year ago
@vangstaz am I sweating? no. are you stupid. I didnt say i was comparing this card to a highend card. will you stop trying to put words in my mouth. I told you what card im running right now. a 7950 gt out does the 9600. and im not saying it will not run the games but for ppl that are like me and run games at native res not that you have any room to talk all you keep doing is saying im giving my self vote up when you can only vote up any comment ONCE so even if i did rate mine 3 others did too.
PimpinSimpson21 1 year ago
@PimpinSimpson21 No, remember you said that this card will lose to other cards at the same graphics settings? You DID NOT SPECIFY if the cards were the same level or higher performing. Be more specific dude. If you mentioned a competing card, like the RADEON HD 4670, then that's fair. But you didn't mention any other card so I assume you're comparing this card to the top of the line cards of today which makes absolutely no scene whatsoever.

PimpinSimpson21 1 year ago
@PimpinSimpson21 Your 100% right sir
TheBlitz1 1 year ago

@TheBlitz1 Yeah I'm pretty sure he would still get some amazing framerates with the GSO in most games at a decent resolution. My HD 4350 did fine with Crysis Warhead at 1280x720 on medium settings. The GSO will do even better.
vangstaz 1 year ago
@TheBlitz1 hey man i played everything down from nfs shift to crysis and i am fully satisfied with my gso card i had it for 2 years and there has never been any problem with it crysis runs an looks beautiful even in 720p at high settings with 4x aa :D
PINKisGOOOD 1 year ago
@PINKisGOOOD The only reason your satisfied is because you have no point of view regarding any card other cards, ignorance in this manner displays your bias, thus your opinion is overuled by mine, a person which has used and owns every single high end nvidia card since the 6800 GT. When I used dual 8800 GT's and benchmarked them against dual 9600 GSO's in the same system with 3DMark06, the GSO's were over 6 thousand 3dmarks less, and the price of dual GSO's is only $25 less than dual 8800 GT's.
TheBlitz1 1 year ago
@TheBlitz1 its the 9600gso dumbfuck, its not meant to go against the 8800gt and even 2 gso vs 2 8800gt ofcourse the 8800gts will be faster. can you atleast respect the 9600gso for what it is? i love the damn card because it has played all my games and movies i don't respect you because your a retarded kid who knows shit about graphics cards. really stop talking about your precious 8800gt for once okay baby? :D
PINKisGOOOD 1 year ago
@PINKisGOOOD besides me being a dumb fuck and a retarded kid baby, the point is the 9600 GSO was never a feasible option economically or perfromance wise, due to the fact that it is only 20 dollars more for a 8800 GT, while you gain 40% more performance.

@PINKisGOOOD I'm not mad, I'm just informing you that the 9600 GSO was never a viable option for use with any modern graphics engines.
TheBlitz1 1 year ago
@TheBlitz1 i disagree to that and so will others what makes you think that the gso is not a viable option with modern graphics engines? its 2010 and this card was built in early 2008 cmon get your facts straight and respect the card for what it is will ya baby? and if you did own every card from the 6800 series then you shouhldnt be talking about how bad each card is but instead talk about there pros.
can you explain why i can play crysis in 720p high settings with 4x aa with my gso then?
PINKisGOOOD 1 year ago
TheBlitz1 1 year ago
@TheBlitz1 dude, it's a fucking mid-range graphics card. see you're comparing my gso to your 295 now thats fucking stupid. its the 9600gso alright? its not meant to go against the newer cards fucktard you dont seem to understand. this is a midrange graphics card this is a midrange graphics card this is a midrange graphics card!!!
crysis at my settings runs at an average of 30fps if you consider that not playable then your an idiot because 30fps is truly playable. why are you so ignorant?

This shows how the 9600 GSO (8800 GS) has a crippled architecture.

PINKisGOOOD 1 year ago
@PINKisGOOOD The 9600 GSO is a re-branded 8800 GS which can barley reach 30 FPS on HL2 at medium settings.
@TheBlitz1 okay. i get your point. no graphics card is good. you see, from your OPINION no graphics card can get a solid 50 fps at 1080p, 16x aa with maximum settings in crysis. you happy now you dumbfuck?
its only YOUR opinion that 50 fps is unplayable. your lying that magazins and guru3d are saying that 30fps is unplayable
consoles play at most only 30 fps if not less so your also saying that consoles are shit because of that? and again from your opinion, EVERY SINGLE FUCKING CARD SUCKS.
PINKisGOOOD 1 year ago
@TheBlitz1 as you can see, not every single fucking graphics card in this world is built for gaming obviously you have never played with anything lower than your precious 295 because you have no fucking knowledge to how the mid end and lower end graphics card peroform. my 9600gso at 720p, high settings with 4xaa WITH 30fps IS FUCKING IMPRESSIVE FOR A FUCKING MIDRANGE GRAPHICS CARD. the hd 3870 are old cards but they were fucking fantastic back in those days alright? learn the dates too kid
PINKisGOOOD 1 year ago
@TheBlitz1 and once again there are lower end cards, mid range card high end cards, older cards, and newer cards. each and every one of them DO NOT carry the same features as others. stop trolling and get this. you consider 50fps not playable and its a failure. I CONSIDER THAT 30FPS IS PLAYABLE its only your preferences, stop telling other people to believe what you think because we are all so damn tired of you ignorant people. i asked you a question earlier butthead, why are you so ignorant?
PINKisGOOOD 1 year ago
PINKisGOOOD 1 year ago

Oh and the 6800GT is only about 10% faster than as my HD 4350 if you didn't know.
vangstaz 1 year ago
@TheBlitz1 are you ready to what i'm going to say?. i've played half life 2 maxed out on a very old computer with a single core CPU pentium 4 1.5 GHZ and geforce 2 mx but reflections and bloom effects definently weren't visible due to the version of vertex and pixel shaders on the card. actually. actually if you're talking about resolutions like 2560 * 1600 single 8800 GS or 9600 GSO is definently not good but i'm fine with 1920 * 1080, i could play all source games on max with HD 3870.
george3dmax 1 year ago
@george3dmax I now own a dx 11 HD 5870 from asus with voltage tweak plus therlmaltake 750 watt and optimal CPU, MOBO, RAM for that card.
george3dmax 1 year ago
@vangstaz If your entire argument to prove the 9600 GSO is still viable lies within 6gb memory data rate difference, you should reconsider how you spend your time.
TheBlitz1 1 year ago
@TheBlitz1 Don't you see? It's FASTER than its competitor. What else do you NOT understand? Geezlaweez, how difficult can it be just to understand how to compare graphics cards to their god damn competitors??????

@PimpinSimpson21 Keep it up, no wonder you're not replying xD.
It was 4, and now it's 7. What can it be next? You lose the debate my friend.

@TheBlitz1 Not all of them...the first GSOs used a G92 with the 96 SP where as this is a G94 with only 48 SP.

Shit, I remember playing combat flight simulator 1 with the 5800, back when that was a high end card.

yes it would in flight simulator... you can overclock it for maximum power... plus it has free a benchmark software which you can test your gpu.... also remember a good cpu... good luck

What games will this card run?
mongol63 2 years ago
you could buy the cheap 9500 gt as an alternative, no more issues about the power supply, it's midrange, and you could crank Crysis to high settings, and it run smoothly, try it on Ultra high but with just a minor setback, a pause but still it runs smooth on most areas.. just have at least 2g of ddram
ObserverAlpha 2 years ago
Can you run Empire Total War, Darkest of days smoothly on high?
mongol63 2 years ago
well 9500 gt has a 1g video card.. it sure do.. it is already direct x 10.0.. it's a budget card, but a decent one, I had this on my other PC, and yep! it's still powerful, do some research and still it's good
ObserverAlpha 2 years ago
no.
TheBlitz1 2 years ago
No what?
mongol63 2 years ago
no it cant run those smoothly on high
TheBlitz1 2 years ago
Mongol id recommend the 9600 GT 512mb GDDR3, you an check amazon, i know there is multiple used 9600 GT verto's on there for the same price as this card (sub $80).
The 256 bit memory bus and GDDR3 is what you want, those specifications should define mid range cards, the core, shader, and memory clock are dynamic and supplementary.
TheBlitz1 2 years ago
lol thats a good one, run crysis high on a 9500 GT. My brother has it and he can barely run crysis on 800x640.

iv got a 17 inch lcd on this and it still taxes that card...

ive got this card running on dual 17" LCD monitors and it runs perfectly fine. My comp is a dell Optiplex 745 dual core with 4gb memory and a soundblaster sound card (start laughing now) but it runs FSX almost maxed, and Fallout 3 maxed perfectly fine. (only use one monitor for Fallout 3) and cant forget Oblivion :)
ryanbrown321 2 years ago
yeah maybe but im runing a dual core 2.8ghz overclocked @ 3.1ghz 2gb of ddr2 800mhz of kingston hyperx ram a 320gb wd black ed hard drive coolermaster tx3 cpu cooler blueray drive the 9600gso soundblaster se 7.1 sound card iv got 2 more gig of ram to put in when my new gigabyte mobo comes am3 ready

ATi redon 4650 1 GB DDR2 VS XFX 9500 GT 1GB DDR2 ?which one is better?

WoW or counter strike on a small monitor? I have a 9600GSO and it plays Far Cry 2 and Crysis at 1920x1200 with almost all settings at high and 16x AF.
It's a different version tho: 192 bit, 384Mb GDDR3
