A very nice open, ringing flatpicked tune. Very clear melody pops out over the arpegios, which is a nice touch. Plus, It does not look as hard to learn as I Wish! :)

This is the first time I've heard of the "Tall Fiddler" tuning. I never thought of dropping the A string down to a G. I like how minimal this piece is. I've been composing my own fingerstyle arrangements for a little over a year now and I've learned that less is truly more. I tend to over-stuff my compositions with needless noodling. It really is all about the melody.

@crescentridge - it was the rounded corners that had me thinking otherwise. The one thing I noticed was how silent the picking was. Unless you EQ'd it out, that pick makes virtually no noise on the strings when you pick.

Adam I know what a great player you are and love every bit of your work and skills here as usual...But one thing I mostly am impressed in this video is quality of recording sound....Did the hour spent with sound engineers mastering your CD helped I wonder.... Any tips from youtuber how to get close to your sound here??? Would love to hear. Of course I know i won't be able ever to play like you do so no tricks there!

@gfilip Here's the secret...I did a podcast on this, but have not lauched the podcast.

1) Practice the piece sufficiently now the technical stuff...

2) I use an H4, so I have 2 inputs

3) I used to use 2 mics...now I use one line in stright from the guitar and one mic

4) Split the signal into 2 mono tracks using "audacity" or other free software

5) blend the two in Garage Band, reverb, eq, compression (and fixes if needed - I took a few squeaks out)
