Please help me with this, we gain c-14 and lose c-14, Dr. Willard Libby, the founder of the carbon-14 dating method said something about equilibrium should have been reached in 30,000 years yet we havent reached it yet? Is this not important to carbon dating?

@ovechkin100 If a scientific theory is proved false it is given a new hypothesis to explain it. This hypothesis will undergo replicable experiments to prove it's authenticity. If the experiment does not go as according to the hypothesis, a new hypothesis is formed. However if the hypothesis is sound and more experiments are performed successful, this adds credibility to the hypothesis. To disprove most high scientific theories you would need a huge gathering of counter-evidence.

@IoEstasCedonta It depends on where the carbon in the shellac came from. It would only be accurate if the shellac got it's carbon directly from the atmosphere. Any other carbon source would have it's carbon 14 isotope already depleted significantly. So if it was made from geological hydrocarbons (oil or gas) it would have much lower amounts of C14 as the carbon in oil is not from the atmosphere.

Carbon dating may well work, but you haven't produced the tiniest shred of information to back this up.
Why don't you a) explain how you believe dinosaur bones can be accurately dated;
b) explain why other research shows that collagen samples (not shelac) from dinosaur bones produced C14 values suggesting that the samples were, on average, about 25,000 years old?
Instead of attacking straw men and sneering at people try to address the science.

@CobinRain Evolution was pretty much confirmed before they even discovered DNA and then it was a slam dunk. Every aspect of Science that encounters Evolution fits in like a jigsaw puzzle. Cosmology, Geology, Plate Tectonics, and Biology (of course). There's the story of a Biologist who was looking for one of the sea to land transitional fossils and using Plate Tectonics to work out where the continents were at the time decided it must be in Greenland. So he went there and PRESTO, there it was!

The DNA code makes proteins using triplets of base pairs, each triplet produces an amino acid in an assembly line. At the end of each process there's a triplet that means STOP. In the Great Apes, somewhere in the Vitamin C and Uric acid processes one single base pair has changed and now that triplet is the STOP code so it stops before finishing the job. So we're related.

Ironically one of the best write ups on this stuff was done by a Microbiologist who's also a devout Christian, named Graeme Finlay. He knows that Evolution is a fact and clearly shows how they know that. Ironically he's able to marry that up to classical Christianity.

But we know that carbon dating does work, physicists aren't stupid, and the problem must lie in the fact that creationists aren't that astute. @ovechkin100 If a scientific theory is proved false it is given a new hypothesis to explain it. This hypothesis will undergo replicable experiments to prove it's authenticity. If the experiment does not go as according to the hypothesis, a new hypothesis is formed. However if the hypothesis is sound and more experiments are performed successful, this adds credibility to the hypothesis. To disprove most high scientific theories you would need a huge gathering of counter-evidence.

Carbon dating has a problem.
It constantly incorrectly dates things we know the date of.
Same with radiometric dating.
New rock formed at Mt.St. Helens date wildly different and vary from 500,000 to millions of years old.
Mt St Helens erupted May 18, 1980.
Unfortunately we can't use these methods any more as they have been proven to be unreliable.

@IoEstasCedonta It depends on where the carbon in the shellac came from. It would only be accurate if the shellac got it's carbon directly from the atmosphere. Any other carbon source would have it's carbon 14 isotope already depleted significantly. So if it was made from geological hydrocarbons (oil or gas) it would have much lower amounts of C14 as the carbon in oil is not from the atmosphere.

Why don't you a) explain how you believe dinosaur bones can be accurately dated;
b) explain why other research shows that collagen samples (not shelac) from dinosaur bones produced C14 values suggesting that the samples were, on average, about 25,000 years old?
Instead of attacking straw men and sneering at people try to address the science.

@CobinRain Evolution was pretty much confirmed before they even discovered DNA and then it was a slam dunk. Every aspect of Science that encounters Evolution fits in like a jigsaw puzzle. Cosmology, Geology, Plate Tectonics, and Biology (of course). There's the story of a Biologist who was looking for one of the sea to land transitional fossils and using Plate Tectonics to work out where the continents were at the time decided it must be in Greenland. So he went there and PRESTO, there it was!

The DNA code makes proteins using triplets of base pairs, each triplet produces an amino acid in an assembly line. At the end of each process there's a triplet that means STOP. In the Great Apes, somewhere in the Vitamin C and Uric acid processes one single base pair has changed and now that triplet is the STOP code so it stops before finishing the job. So we're related.

Also for my creationists brethren (yes I am a creationist christian) the fact that andromada exists and we are able to see it refutes any belief that carbon dating is somehow inaccurate would be like saying that the sun does not exist (not that they are diecrtly analogus but both concepts are well established mathematical/phsical concepts).

I am not going to try to explain carbon-14, but trust me it works, 2nd While yes the abrahamic religons are based around similar ideals as otther religons, see horus vs. jesus christ. this doesn't nessessarily mean that the abrahamic religons plagurized, the story of noahs flood is the biblical explaination for this effect. It was already there when (most likely) moses of eygpt (or minos or whatever religon/language) wrote it.

Rather, all the mass in the Universe was compressed to a singular point, like the center of a black hole, let's say, and within this single point, quantum physics works its magic, and causes it to explode in the big bang. What are evolutionists? I don't think I've ever met one. Met a few evolutionary biologists and a lot of people who have accepted the truth of evolution based on overwhelming evidence. But no evolutionists. Besides, creationism attacks several scientific disciplines. Why focus on one like the majority of the scientific world hasn't already accepted evolution? To all those christians who say atheism is a belief, I would just like to remind you that belief involves a leap of faith, religous folk believe in various gods, and non religous folks dont. Fear and insecurity of not being correct does not enter into the observed physical universe, we see the Andromeda galaxy 200000 light years away, and assume its been there for more than 6000 years. A doctrine based on an old book is a funny way of trying to argue against those that dont accept your beliefs.

Except that God WAS created, in ~600BCE, by the author Second Isaiah, who wrote the monotheistic Abrahamic god into existence in response to the loss of Judea, along with rewriting a significant portion of the Torah so it no longer as closely resembled polytheism.
Read the Enuma Elish, where the Abrahamic gods and myths are plagiarized from.
