does anyone find that the tilt is extremley slow? somebody i know has it and it takes forever for everyhting to load on there. i want the tilt...but i dont want a phone that is that slow
It is slower than some other WM phones, even the older htc apache type phone. Has to do with the processor and its lack of proper graphics drivers - uses software acceleration instead of hardware acceleration. SHAME ON HTC FOR REFUSING TO FIX IT.
I have the tilt and it runs just fine. They probably just have to many programs running at once. the processor is split into a 400mhz arm11 that handles the op sys and a 274mhz arm9 that handles communication. it's very fast if you know what your doing, just like a desktop they can be cluttered with bs and slowed down.
my tilt relly fast... but then again... i cook my own roms so i can take any program off that i dont need and i have access to alot of coustomizeables...
i have a tilt, its great, i like the physical keyboard a lot better, and it has some great freeware. not quite up their with the app store, but i still love the fact that i can get some cool stuff for free. its also a great business phone, but thats not what i use it for. the camera also has a panorama setting that stitches photos together, and thats like my favorite thing ever! go for the tilt!

I got mine off ebay too. it doesnt have to be unlocked, if u got a AT&T/cingular sim card just put the card in and it works. if its another sim card like tmobile then u need to unlock it
if u look where it says 3g/e, click on that not the one w. the bars on it. then u will see something pop up & click on the wireless manager which will bring u to a screen that has 9 boxes. click on the one w/ the antenna thats for ur wireless use.
