These horns were invented by Cerveny, and the Cerveny company is still in business and makes these horns. They come in four types- Eb alto, Bb baritone, Bb euphonium and bass. These are the horns that are often mistaken for Saxhorns, and vice-versa. The Saxhorns are often mistakenly referred to as a family of tubas. THESE are the family of tubas. Saxhorns are valved bugles.
@rooboru Both instruments are made in USSR, "Leningrad" brand. These ones are older than me and I think there's not many left at all, but you can still find some. "Leningrad" brand still exists, it's in St. Petersburg, Russia. They make new instruments, but I don't know if their sound qualities didn't change...

what key is the tenorhorn in ?
ultimategamer267 6 months ago
@ultimategamer267 Eb. It's called an Alto Horn in the U.S. Sometimes just referred to as an Eb horn, or Horn in Eb to avoid confusion.

What's the difference between this and the Wagner tuba?
valadyr2 1 year ago
@valadyr2
the Wagner tuba belongs to the (French) Horn family and has a significant smaller mouthpiece. But you're right it looks very similar.
