Rumor was that Diz actually drank a few Falstaffs during the broadcast of the CBS Game of the Week. Anyone know if there is any truth to this ? I remember him doing "live on the air" from the booth Falstaff commercials between innings, during which he would pour a bottle into a glass. BTW, Ole Diz & PeeWee walked directly infront of me at a CBS Game of the Week at St. Louis in Aug 1963. Big white cowboy hat and all !!!!!!
I would like to see the old Falstaff Commercials that ran during the baseball games that Dizzy Dean & Pee Wee Reese announced. They were animated. It was something like the baseball manager stood 2 feet tall and all you saw of the players were they cleats up to the knees. It was hilarious.
The first party I went to hosted by a friend who became my wife, I was able to grab a 6 of Falstaff on the way there, being a BYOB party, as most were amongst my circle of friends in San Francisco at the time. I had gotten tired of taking good beer to a party and having everyone else drink it before I could have a second bottle - thus, my contribution of Falsaff.
Fast forward a year and we start dating. What do I find in the back of her fridge? Five cans of Falstaff.
i think i remember this. weird.
