Vltor are LIARS. This was Shot 2009, Shot 2010 they showed the prototypes. "Gun will be shipped by this summer 2010" Vltor told me. May 2010: '...we have a delay.." Well, it is 1 month removed from Shot 2011 and NO Bren Ten. WTF???? BTW: I own an ORIGINAL Bren Ten. It slices and dices nicely. I have given up on Vltor ever producing product.
@codemaster94 I know, the Sonny character started out in the pilot carrying a Browning BDA in 45, looks like a Sig 220. Then he moved to the Bren Ten. When that wasn't it, he went to the Smith and Wesson 645, and finally upgraded to the 4506.
I can see that the new magazine clip, they're going to use is from the EAA Witness line which will solve magazine shortage and it's appropriate because the vitor model is supposed to be a CZ-75 copy and same with the Witness. But that model is considered a sub-class not a true copy of the original Czech model.
I can't imagine Vltor is going to make a production pistol for the general public that has a 1 1/2 lb. trigger pull. Clearly, that is way too light for self defense or anything else other than match shooting. I think he might be wrong on that one.
Well, according to some news on the Bren Ten forum, the firearms have now been supposedly delayed a couple of months but, Vltor's Bren Ten blog has taken down the pictures and the links to the distributor have been disabled. For all intention purposes, the VLTOR Bren Ten project is....."over."
@macayetano I emailed Vltor last week, and was told the Fortis/Bren Ten is still a high-priority item with them. A call to Ellett Brothers, a distributor, indicates they're still taking orders for (expected) July delivery. You'd better call, and tell them the news. Not saying you might not be right, some day, but there's nothing but speculation to support your contention.
IT is going to happen and has happend. The first shipment has been sold and its being distributed in may of 2010. I will be there with cash in hand. Around 1300 bucks MSRP.
You think he needs to learn how to add?? he can't handle a gun, he thinks the trigger pull is a pound and a half and he thought it was tubbs that carried a Bren Ten, the guy is a complete moron.
The "two tone" finish came about due to "stainless on stainless" caused galling of metal between slide and frame. So slide went to Carbon steel as a fix. They could have ""Nickled " it I guess, but they went with a blued finish. The "Miami Vice" gun WAS all Silver! This was done BY THE STUDIO because the darker gun did not show well in night filming. So the blue slide was refinsihed by a local shop in a satin "Hard Chrome" finish to make it show up better... slide is still carbon steel beneath!
These are really nice. I liked the silver Bren Tens and not the Miami Vice style ones so much but I love these guns and the cartridge. So much fun to shoot and I can't wait to get my own.
I've been following this since they started the fortis project at vltor's website. In july they announced they were dropping the fortis name because they got the naming rights for bren ten. So the fortis is now the bren ten!!
@Shittywaffles It entirely depends on the gun to me. Bren Tens, Sigs, and some 1911's look pretty badass in two-tone, but almost every other gun looks putrid.
@Riflemanm16a2 yes, the only actually "verboten" calibers are 9mm Parabellum, 5,56x45mm NATO ( the ones with the cross in the circle headstamp ) and 7,62mm NATO. That's why we're stuck with that STUPID 9mmx21 IMI caliber..
No limits on combloc ammo and rifles though! milsurp ammo like it's raining!
This was shot in 2009, it is now 2012 does Vltor ever plan on coming out with the Bren 10 or are they going to just talk about it?

The new Bren Ten is actually better then the old one.

Did he just point a gun at the cameraman and pull the trigger?
Ho-Lee Fuck.
I would NOT want to be around that guy while he handles guns, his chamber check was so careless.

It may have been "Jeff Coopers baby", but Vltor screwed the pooch on getting Gunsite to allow the Gunsite Raven to be engraved on it.
Pity

The writer demonstrates proper and safe handling technique while the champ points a weapon at him no less than 5 times! What a poser!

I'm sure the Bren Ten was attractive in the 1980s but two tone automatics are RVLTing to me.
