Haven't tried Ketel One yet, but have heard nothing but praise for it. Smirnoff and Absolut? Nah, if you want bang-for-the-buck, try Tito's, Sobieski, and Svedka. Chopin is a great top-shelf vodka, probably the finest potato vodka.

Has anyone tried Crystal Skull? I bought it mainly because of the bottle, but it was $50 for a 26 so it must taste pretty good. If not then back to SKYY!

If you are going to pay that much for vodka, then buy Jean Marc XO Vodka. It was voted the best tasting vodka out there. The Skull is more of a novelty and by the way the label is owed by Dan Ackroyd. Can you trust actors with your vodka? I mean look at their profession, their job is to deceive you into believing they are someone they are not.

Sobieski isn't "really harsh" especially for the price. Granted it isn't as smooth as Absolute but for the money it's the smoothest vodka out there.

I must admit, I tied Sobieski again and I was wrong the first time. It is a very good vodka for the price. however it does leave me with hangovers. probably because its been distilled only twice. For that rice I could recommend Viking Fjord. It is a Super Smooth potato vodka from Norway. The best part is the price. I can pick up a 750ml for only $12 and a 1.75L for $24.

Bacardi isn't bad. I was actually tempted into buying Bacardi Limon or Jaegermeister, but I decided the Superior would be better for today.

Bacardi Superior is ok only in mojitos, Besides that the only other bacardi worth drinking is Bacardi 8. If you want strait rum I recommend Mount Gay rum, (by far the best with coke and lime). If you want spiced rum go with capt. morgans private stock. Jagermeister and flavored liquors are for college kids.

Actually, I am a third-year student at Georgia State University.

I simply wanted to try Jaegermeister just because I had never tried it before and it seems as if everyone my age has partaken of it.

Im actually drinking Bacardi Superior mixed with coke right now. Hell, it's winter break and I wanted to have a good ole' time.

What are some really good tequilas, vodkas, and rums (besides the one that you've mentioned) that you would recommend?

Blancos: Patron is nice and smooth, Gran centenario is really good too.

Reposados: Cuervo Tradicional is good for the price. Gran Cen. is great.

Anejos: Cazadores is good, patron, Gran Cen.

All of these are great! dont mix any of them!

That would be a waste. The best way to drink tequila is on the rocks with a lime wedge or two in it.

What are some good drinks that I could make with Bacardi Superior that are simple?

Try this: Its a Bacardi Caipirinha.

Cut a lime into smaller pieces, place them into a rocks glass, then add like half a tablespoon of sugar, muddle them and some crushed ice then fill to the top with the bacardi. The original Caipirinha is made with a Brazilian rum known as Cachaca.

yeah, i gotta agree with you there, I tried it again recently and it totally tasted like crap. I used to like it for some reason. I think its because Ive tried many more vodkas since then and now I can Gauge where everything is. I recently switched to Potato Vodkas. Chopin is the best at $30, but for half the price I recommend: Monopolowa, Luksusowa, & Viking Fjord. All potato vodkas, all smooth and the latter three are affordable

No way. This is all about flavor, but this guy needed to give people more info.

1. Absolut is crap, it's all marketing. Abslolut consistently ranks at or near the very bottom in tastings.

2. No mention of any ultra-premiums (Stolichnaya Elit being, bar-none, the smoothest vodka i've had in 11 years tending bar)

3. Making potato-based vodka out to be something special. It's not, there are many, stop hocking your sponsor.
