Normally, I'm wary of sequels and spin-off shows and what not, and part of me wants to be worried. But I want SO much to see more of this world, and more of these characters, and I want SO much for them to do it right. This gives me hope. It sounds like they're aiming for the sky with the sequel, which is good, because what kills most sequels is laziness. And as long as they maintain the tone of the movie, the show could be an enjoyable addition to the franchise.
Alright, My friend said they probably wouldn't make a HTTYD 2, but i told him on how long the period for like Cars and Cars 2 was, AND IM FREAKING OUT! I dont care if the world ends i want that damn movie and series!!!!
I love the fact that they're committed to keeping the dark, epic feel of the movie for its upcoming installments. I think Pixar is just as amazing as Dreamworks, but the advantage I believe the latter has is their versatility in storytelling. They don't confine themselves to a specific staple in their stories, which allowed them to go darker with How to Train Your Dragon. This has to be one of my all-time favorite movies, and I look forward to a successful sequel and a TV series that naturally
I would absolutely LOVE an HtTYD sequel, if I knew they wouldn't screw it up. but I have a feeling they won't. and a series would be nice, so long as they're serious about it being darker and stuff. that would be great
@demolitionsexpert396 True..though I sometimes wonder how could they possibly create such amazing scenes like "Forbidden Friendship" in the sequel (you know where Toothless starts to trust Hiccup more and where they interract with eachother entirely without any words spoken)...ofcourse I have confidence on these great film makers, but I hope the sequel has those really touching and heartwarming moments, that's its not just all about the action.
@echi2567 me too. i loved this movie. they have one of the directors from the first so that's good. And i heard the other director is going to produce it. HTTYD was dreamworks animation best picture by far
@echi2567 They will. The people who actually made the first a masterpiece will be leaving it to the typical Dreamworks directors. But hopefully they will learn a little

For once, I actually trust DreamWorks in this. I mean, what better yet than a continuation of a great movie? Hope they don't ruin it. :3

• One of the original directors signs on for the sequel,
• Dark and serious tones for the series,
• Everyone involved terrified about it and therefore probably going to handle it with care and do their utmost to make it the best....
What incredible HOPE this interview gives me for the future of this franchise!! ^_^

If the series DOES happen to come out, I'm hoping some of the episodes plots would be relative to the other books.
And if it DOES air on CN then I bet it's gonna replace BEN 10, cause you know like they said "Dark moments".
