looks like somebody has decided to take the "iberius" out of "gladius iberius". it's a "spanish" short sword hence the latin word : "iberius" from which you get the "iberian peninsula" where spain is located dumb shits.
Indeed the gladius was a stabbing-thrusting weapon but that does not mean it could not slash open an opponent (target) as this video demonstrates...and quite well too. Good video I enjoyed that, its nice to see that it is not just the Katana that can be used for tameshirigir or how the hell you pronounce it.
