  • i love this song it has a great meaning to it it is so true

  • George Jones > George Strait

  • just think of all the talent that may have been overlooked because they weren't the most glamorous or best looking. sometimes the most talented are disguised by less than great looks. thanks george for your choices.

  • Best countrysinger EVER!!!

  • Nice clear sound, well done...!

  • Reminds me of my beautiful family and .... drinking.

  • powerful my nigga

  • This song reminds me of my father.....like Mr.Jones he too discovered that at an early age he liked drinking but the choices and the help his family wanted to give him...as a stubborn man too stuck in his ways...he turned them all away....he passed away 8 years ago from all the heavy drinking....I'm pretty sure he would still be alive today if he took the help...dispite all that,Dad I still love you xoxo

  • @theeaglesfan1 an im the same dam way an cant help it..

  • i had choices just like george jones.......i just wish i could get the choice to lick his balls cause my choice would be to suck them dry.

  • @whiteboy3033

hoss... you went a little bit too far

  • Amen Brother

  • ...And that's why there is no dislikes to this video.

  • George is a great singer BUT there is only one that is HANK WILLIAMS singer song writer Thomas Haverstock

  • Choices that we make are often the source of our greatest pain.

  • awesome: NO DISLIKES!!! George is THE MAN--- I grew up drinkin with him, etc- and soberin up with him too- life is good now, from the choices I made....

  • Sad stuff when the CMA Awards in '99 asked George to cut his act to 90 seconds.

No wonder that he boycotted it and Alan Jackson interrupted his own song to sing this George Jones classic.

I can hear my grandma exclaiming, "What has this world come to?!"

  • We all have choices in this life,we just need to choose the right things!!!!!!!!!!

  • This is probably one of the best songs of all time.

  • I love this song because it is so true we live and die with the choices we have made. Thanks for posting this song sung by great country singer George Jones, I love his songs and his great voice!

  • Dedicate this song to my daddy, 11-30-1960-----4-3-06 RIP 'TEE-TIE'

    Your little boy sammy

  • What happen to the old clip of this,God I miss it.

  • My son, who is not a country music fan, was so inspired and moved by this song, he actually sent it to me, another non-country-music-lover, and inspired me too!!! Great song and artist, that George Jones. :)

  • im a big country lover and i ve recorded with my couzin and hes pretty old and me and him sung this and my mother had said it sounded really good but this song is based on reall life weve got choices dont turn them down;)

  • @gotaxial we do indeed share the same name .. my family is from Arkansas I dont any more but I did spend many years there I have always worked supported my family made a living but it cost so much in family happiness.Listen to the song GJ always made a living but hell the choices the reasons we do things when we are drunk are amazing ... I am older know but I am stil paying for the wreckage of my past but Wayne a drunkis a drunk whether he sings for a living or repairs equipment like I Do

  • Choices. We all have them, and yes, we live and die with the choices we make...

  • @ Ac130 I did change But that still leaves me with the losses that I have due to my choices, I like the song it reminds me of where I was, The losses are real I dont like having regrets or wondering what if, Thank you my friend

  • This song is a part of me .... no it is me in many ways I have lost so much because I chose to drink, now I am living and dying with the choices I have made . This song is my life TY

  • @wdeatonjr

We all make choices, some decide to change

    Kia Kaha (Stay Strong)

U No whu, Up for a game of cards Mate

  • @wdeatonjr wow if your name is TY then we have the same name... but why do people drink their life away? why not just have a few and when you feel a buzz and relaxed your good... and never drink alone allways with someone you know so when you fall, no mater what happened you could still get back up from that who you are drinkin with.

  • Hazel likes enjoy listen country music and I both. this kind of music make us feel very happy this weekend. thank you so much. we are going to get the lyrics songs and listening every day. thank you.

    We are from Costa Rica,

  • Awesome song.......still love the moment when on the CMA awards Alan Jackson payed respect to George and sang this song when the CMA didnt want George to sing the song.

  • [Heres to the real deal jones] ***** {Thumbs up for the Possum]

  • I will alwayes love George Jones ...his been an Idol for me ...God Bless This Man

  • the man has a voice like the most beautiful sad violin I have ever heard

  • This song will go down in history as one of the greatest country songs ever written and performed. This is why country is country. Anything else is only music.

  • Had this song played at my Dads funeral he loved George Jones and what a fitting song for my father since he fought the bottle to the end but was a lovely man and fiercely loyal to his family.

  • Singers and songs like this don't grow on trees, on the contrary, in 10 million singers/songs theres only 1 like this.

  • This is one of the BEST songs of his CAREER-Don't give that rocking chair a second thought George ! ! ! ! ! Johnny gone and your left to carry on-- ! ! ! !

  • Greate song brings me back to when I was a child and Daddy and Mommy were still here. Thanks nothing like the old tunes.

  • A great country singer. However George Strait will always be the king of country.

  • @WrestlingStateChamp2 before there was even a George Strait there was George Jones, he was the king of country before and, figuratively speaking, the throne was passed down to Strait...they're both amazing artists, with amazing songs with great meanings! Love them both!

  • this song makes me wanna cry

  • GJ is 1000000000000001 times better than ANY country singer alive or dead. Hank a close second. The guy IS the REAL deal.

  • I hope to be as great as george one day. I've always looked up to him in singing! And it is one of the best songs about life.

  • need anything else be said this is life if anyone with a proplem would here this thay dont need to blame except the one in the mirror

  • i think many people can understand this song to a certain extent....but i dont think you can truly understand this song unless you are a true addict. i am an addict and always will be one. even at times when i manage to quit the temptation is always there and i always go back. when i hear this song i damn near cry. i have been to prison i am unemployed i cant find work i steal to get money. there are things i want to do with my life but it seems nothing ever works out for me. the sad thing is

  • @rastaman24211 that as i type this i am getting ready to do my fix to get me going for the day. but i completely undertand what he says. i turned loved ones away to try to steer me right. every day i think about what i could do go back and do different with my life. i would have joined the army straight out of high school. and i relate to losing at life. every time i try to rise above the choices i have made in my life i fail. i am a little depressed today because my recent attempt to get money

  • @rastaman24211 to go to college failed last night and now i am right back to square one.

  • great singer george jones and willie nelson are my heroes babsanfredrik in sweden

  • i don't care about what some people say...country music and artist like him make you think about the real meaning of life!

  • George's voice is pure as liquid silver.

  • I bet that lever action rifle is 130 years old or maybe his from his youth. It looks old as dirt.

  • I LOVE THIS SONG IT IS SOOOO TRUE!!!!!! :)

  • LOVE IT!!!!!!!!! :) SOOOOOO TRUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • there are no words

  • americanpride42 the hell with cma they arent even country anymore gac is where its at they still know what country is alan jackson is gonna " fill george's shoes"

  • @XC851XC No one will fill George Jones's shoes not even Allen Jackson so shut up

  • love you jones'ie come back to ireland please.....

  • I've loved this song since 1999, and I still do to this day. I wish there were more songs like it.

  • I don't care if people like country or not..Can't deny that the best songs about life are in the country genre and this song is a perfect example of such.

  • @QuassDebonair fuck people who dont like country they are just people with no morals and blame country for being racist, just so they can make money off their own hate and judgmental eyes of lies to make themselves fell better when they do what is wrong .

  • @666Angelfuck i dont much like country but george jones is an amazing artist

  • @juneausucks you would be surprised what kind of artist you can find from the past,George Jones is simply one of them. people talk about being good, not to be racist well whats more racist than calling country music something its not so you can push forward music like r&b and rap that is true racism, country will never as it was so Liston to guys like johnny cash,Waylon Jennings and much much more.

  • @QuassDebonair Hi, I know your comment is very old, but I just wanted to point out something. There are nice songs about life in almost every genre of music. Maybe you feel more receptive or enjoy it more when it's country (I do too), but I've heard really nice songs about life, with really nice lyrics, in other genres too. It's all about what kind of music you like. If you're more for country, then of course for you "the best" songs about life are in the country genre.

  • @QuassDebonair And this is said by someone who cried after listening, first to Bobby Bare's "daddy what if", and then Bobby Bare Junior's "daddy what if" with his daughter (feel free to look for them here on YouTube). The reason I was touched is because on a live show (back in the 70s), Bare said something like: "he will probably sue me when he gets older"... well, he didn't, but also he sang the same song with his daughter.

  • @QuassDebonair Real country music not the crap Nashville is putting out now.

  • @6stringgunslinger Zac Brown Band is fucking awesome. The end.

  • amen brother!!!!

  • Great Song By The Geatest Vocalist In Country Music History

  • @WOODYSKYM Right on. NOBODY can touch the Possum!!

  • I remember when the CMA screwed George out of the "Single of the Year" award for this song. Then again, they decided to not give recognition to any Opry members aside from Allan Jackson.

  • Thanks for the songs Mr. George. Long may your music live and cant wait for more music to come.

  • Love ya possum, Keep us drunk's alive....

  • i love this song

  • its impossible not to love this song
