I think Yuna is a largely misunderstood character, she harbours all the pain and suffering she ecounters but maintains her cheery outward appearence.

Obviously that all adds up till you get to the point where she just can't help but burst into tears and Tidus...well probably took advantage of her a bit there, although there was obviously romantic interest between them.

I think Tidus felt the need to be there to support Yuna and play hero. Not necessarily in the sense of "feeling sorry for her" or being obligated to take care of her, but he had the need to protect her. Under different circumstances, I think he would've been more inclined to choose Rikku, who he clearly also had feelings for, from his dream and the actual option to tell Rikku so.

It is said during the game that Yuna maintains a brave face and Tidus says he was the only one really laughing. Yuna lives in the shadow of death, most of her cheerfulness is forced. She doesn't want others to worry about her. Having her faith shaken is the last straw and brings her to tears.

I see Tidus as a brother figure for Rikku, I think their personalities are too similar for a relationship.

Gippal is more flirtatious (sp?) and slightly cheeky, which I think suits Rikku better. Rikku is after all, younger than Yuna and Tidus and while Tidus is cheerful and positive, he's a bit too serious for her in my opinion. She needs the whole young immature love thing ^_^

It's the opposite for me, I see Gippal and Rikku as having more of a sibling relationship. He seems like he was Brother's jerk friend who always picked on her when they were younger. And Rikku's also pretty serious, when you think about it. She's seen a lot of death, it's amazing she manages to put on a smile like she does.

you need to be "nice" to her, like, use Potions on her during battles and cast buffs on her and don't let her die, petrify or attack her.

you can do these to the other characters to lower their scores with Tidus, and it doesn't change the main storyline at all
