This is the greatest movie I ever seen. I am an atheist but I love this kind of movies. Elias Koteas, Eric Stoltz, Viggo Mortensen, Christopher Walken, Virgina Madsen and Steve Hytner are all doing wonderful acting. Especially Elias, Viggo and Steve are doing the best appearences I've seen from them.

It's not as easy to read Milton's Paradise Lost these days as it used to be, because humankind has sort of gone a bit too far on its own ideas of "diversity" at the expense of other species ... and for other more obvious reasons. But if the questions in this film compel you in any way, then try reading Milton. He's easiest to read if you do it twice, actually. The first time out loud. (Yeah, like anyone's gonna want to or be able to invest that kind of time. I know.)

Um, no, the Bible tells the truth. And the truth is, ages ago, one angel named Satan/Lucifer/Beelzebub/whatev­er decided he wanted to be God and there was a "war". I don't know if there was a battle, or if it was fought over a table, or if it lasted two seconds. But there was definitely friction and the whole story is found in the Bible. But whatever, this movie is obviously fictional, so why are we arguing about this?

satan, lucifer, and beezlebub are three totally different entities. lucifer and satan are both fallen angels. beezlebub is a demon. a totally diferent thing. this movie is about prophecy, something that hasn't happened yet. like gabriel being punished. it's in revelations. i'm not saying things are going to happen like in the movie, i highly doubt it. however, you seem to lack interpretation of both the movie and the bible. i'm not saying this to insult you.

According to christian mythology, Satan and Lucifer are the same. Lucifer which means "The Morning Star" is the name of Gods closest Angel who rebelled against heaven and was thrown out, with him he took one third of all the angels in heaven, and at the same time he lost the name "Lucifer", and became "Satan" or "The Devil" if you like that name better. Beelzebub I have no idea of though.

Demons in christianity are by some seen as fallen angels and by some as hybrids between angels and humans
