Szenen aus der Serie "Die Scharfschützen" Episode - Das verschollene Battallion. Eien Reihe über den Offizier Richard Sharpe der von Wellington aus dem Mannschaftsstand befördert wurde.
One of the best for sure, felt bad for the lad who's dog was 'shot'..yeah it's just a show but still hehe. I wouldent spit on that colonel even if he were on fire
Many officers of this period were cowards who brought their commissions, but your average British soldier was a warrior willing to put his life on the line.
usualy I can't stand when people feel the need to put a song over tv clips. This is the exception that prooves the rule. It made sence to put that song to that clip and for once puting song to clip worked well.
Kate Rusby is an angel. I want to marry her and have her children. I will cut down any man who thinks she is less than a godess........calm down son....ahhhhh she's lovely.
It's called Recruited Collier. It's on the Sharpe album but I heard it first on the Kate Rusby & Kathryn Roberts album. There's a song on that one called Plains of Waterloo if you like this sort of thing. And I worship her so she must be a godess........sighhhhhhh :)
In the book, the last part was a large battle, not a skirmish. When Harper asks where the recruiting sargent is to be placed, Sharpe says something to the effect of:"With Kelly, O'Connor, and the O'Toole brothers."
The man was not coming back from that battle no way, no how.
oh god, I just remembered what happens to that lad's dog :S sad times

@flute4hire Not pseudo. Kate *is* a Yorkshire lass.
carollizc 1 year ago
@carollizc she still sounds like a sad folkey wherever shes from. at least shes not gone for the usual irish accent that most put on & exaggerate.
