Thank god for neutralness! The futurama theme might have been inspired by this, but it sure is NOT the same. And the Futurama theme is epic, tho it wouldn't have existed without this.
This piece is really amazing just the music alone, but coupled with the video it makes it even more fun. Its incredible to think this was done back in the 60s before computer animation or anything. The music is truly inspiring and the theme was this wonderful happy carefree feel to it.
Do not forget that this melody (and the others from the entire ballet) was created for Maurice Bejart's modern ballet called "Messe pour le temps present" - a superb creation that was way ahead of its time. The Futurama intro was not by Fatboy Slim, it was by Christopher Tyng. Fatboy Slim had his own remix, which had nothing to do with the Futurama intro.

Actually, this track is half Michel Colombier, half Pierre Henry.
All the "pop" thing, composition and production was done by Michel Colombier.
Pierre Henry made only the electronic sounds on this tune.
He never wrote pop music at all. So please give credit to Michel Colombier too, who died a few years ago, and who was a great composer, musician (arranger for Gainsbourg, and soundtrack maker) and who played we people like Herbie Hancock.

@davidtrz: entièrement d'accord avec toi, c'est un personnage majeur de la musique de XXème siècle, surtout quand tu écoutes la musique des années 60: c'est le début des vrais studios d'enregistrements (qui avant étaient "bricolés" dans des stations radios), et l'enregistrement multipiste n'en est qu'à ses débuts (et encore je te parles des Etats-Unis, ne parlons même pas de la situation en France)... C'est simplement hallucinant.
