However Acura only exist in North America while across the Globe an Acura is literally a rebadged Honda. Nevertheless Honda is a great brand but they simply are not cut out to make "luxury cars". Acura has always been the underdog.

I came in for warranty work on my 10 yr old Acura and they gave me one of these as a loaner car, boy I was carving roads like crazy and the audio system was gaga to my ears.
every time I see this car I'm blown away. I love this car. Hopefully I could afford this car before I die because I only see old men or drug dealers driving this.

ok, took the car out this weekend for an upstate road trip, my god, i don't care what it looks like (even though i love the styling anyway after it has grown on me) this car is just amazing!! the SH-AWD system is by far the best out there. the car redefines the word "ADVANCE"! power,performance, precision, this car is the best car for the money!
The TL stands out on the road, it's unique, it's fast, loaded with tech, and it's a blast to drive. I got the chrome package so the grill would stand out even more! Why would I spend my money on the same safe looking car as everyone else?

there is a company by the name of "ron jon" that makes an aftermarket grille to replace that god-awful beak. it dosen't make it drop dead gorgeous, but at least it's a huge improvement.
I don't like the new Acura designs. The "beak" is pretty ugly, but at least Acura is using the style for all their cars adding a theme to their brand.

just bought this with tech package in vanilla white color..get looks everywhere i go. Styling, handling, performance is amazing...entering the highway going 30..hit that throttle..i hit 80 in just a second or 2. the suspension is very tight and sporty..feels like im driving a coupe. I love my tl....huge jump from my previous 1999 acura tl
I like my 2010 TL SHAWD but after trading in my 2007 TL navi there are certain things i miss. The touchscreen navi seemed better, intuitive bluetooth dialing, and the LED side markers. I miss those alot. ;( The grill beak is a bit odd. 2007 had DUAL HID's and the 2010 only has single so hitting high beam makes the car look cheap. The 07 also seemed to have more OOMPH and way better MPG. I'm only getting 22 mixed MPG where I was getting 27-28 before.
But, the front grill is ghastly. Acura put a similar grill on most of their other models. What were they thinking? I want to like the new TL. But, I can't get used to the slab-sided view from the side and the fugly front-end. I'm sure it's a great car to drive. But I just don't care for the overall way it looks, especially from the side. I can't really explain it. But I will say this. Acura went from one of the best designs they've ever had to one that is a disappointment..
I really prefer the outgoing model over this one. It was visually striking both in and out. And ven though this one has more power the outgoing model got better acceleration and fuel economy. What was honda thinking?
The front grill is a TOTAL ZERO!!! It reminds me of the family Queen truckster wagon from the movie "National Lampoon's Vacation", and the rear looks exactly like the front--MAS TRISTE!!!!!

@divne8beast Just wanted to correct you. Infiniti in 2009 became a global brand they are open in 18 countries across europe and are also sold in Asia and South America. Japan is the only country where the G37 sedan EX and M are rebadged Nissans, nevertheless these cars belong to the Nissan premium factory which japan chose to call it, they where going to name it Infiniti in japan but customers where already loyal to the Fuga(M) Skyline(G37) Skyline SUV (EX) as branded Nissans.

i can understand how some people hate the style, i personally like it, i hate bland, conservative cars like the 3 series and especially the c class, at least this car stands out, i think if your paying heaps for a luxury car you want it to stand out, at least this car does exactly that.

The exterior is very busy, the front is nothing more then repetitive, triangular angles drench the car at every corner, sure I guess thats Acuras design but its becoming nothing more then just another car. In terms of styling it was well executed but its not jaw dropping for a Luxury car in this segment, for 35K take an Audi A4, Infiniti G37 sedan over this

I've had this car for almost a year now (base w/tech package), its been a marvelous car. Drives wonderfully, very smooth and with a very good sports mode. The tech package works beautifully and I've had no problems with it.
The back looks nice but the front end has to go... This front end is even uglier than the 2010 ford fusion.. But this only my opinion... To all those that like it more power to you!
If you paint the grille (I did) make sure you coat it with some kind of chip resistant covering. The only thing that worked for me was a plastic layered coat (not sprayed on). The paint over chrome makes it chip easily.
It drives fantastic, is comfortable, comes with high-def nav screen.
believe my brothers, this new look wil grow on you, my uncle has an all white one S.H.A,W,D with HID lights, and 19 inch rims, it looks like a beast in road. one thing i will say this car will out last any german interms of quality, he was gonna get a bmw 5 series, but i lost all hope in bmw since they started being built outside of germany.
RWD is more fun and better fuel economy. of course AWD is better in snow and rainny day. during light snow AWD is better than RWD, but if there is really huge ass blizzard AWD cant do shit about it. I have nissan AWD, and still mad slippery. so if you want fun driving experience go for RWD.
Well just for fun to drive I would say RWD is a bit more "fun" and engaging. AWD is nice and it feels very relaxing and confident in bad weather but if your in a place without too much snow or bad road conditions I would suggest you get RWD. I think its also a bit more fuel efficent.
i dont like this car. Interior quality is inferior, is looks are "thrown together" (in my words) and it is horribly japanese and underpowered. I hate my acura and will by American next time arond. Detroit is ctually making something good of itself FINALLY!!!

Agreed. This one's ugly. I'm driving an 09 right now while my 07 gets. . .Upgraded. . ;) There's absolutely nothing in the 09 that I like any better than the 3rd gen, and many thinks that I like a lot less. This TL was a big step backward for Acura.
@hongpingmike actually hyundais are at 47% retention and acura is at 39% . You get more car for the money in the hyundai genesis and its a winner of top 10 engines in whicih acura is not. The Genesis won car of the year and has out sold lexus and audi.

But, the front grill is ghastly. Acura put a similar grill on most of their other models. What were they thinking? I want to like the new TL. But, I can't get used to the slab-sided view from the side and the fugly front-end. I'm sure it's a great car to drive. But I just don't care for the overall way it looks, especially from the side. I can't really explain it. But I will say this. Acura went from one of the best designs they've ever had to one that is a disappointment..

I really prefer the outgoing model over this one. It was visually striking both in and out. And ven though this one has more power the outgoing model got better acceleration and fuel economy. What was honda thinking?

The front grill is a TOTAL ZERO!!! It reminds me of the family Queen truckster wagon from the movie "National Lampoon's Vacation", and the rear looks exactly like the front--MAS TRISTE!!!!!

@divne8beast NVM, if you are one of those who know abt cars, then you will never link Nissan and Infiniti..there is no Infiniti built upon its lower end product.If you say that the Acura TSX is a euro accord then it's fine..but first off, we are talking abt america, as this is a KBB video, secondly, ppl who really know abt cars wont judge them based on their popularity or prices but how much you get out of it for the money.

@divne8beast Nowadays, very rich ppl are getting horses and bulls (Ferrari and lamborghini), okay rich ppl get Porsche, and a lil rich ppl just seek to decorate their households with one or two entry/mid range upscale cars to get girls or something. But some cars, to those ppl, cant even get girls for them..but Do NEVER ever overlook them..IMO SHAWD is the best in its segment, a Nissan GTR is still a Nissan, but is only 1/10 or something slower than that 400K LFA..

@divne8beast all im trying to say is that so what Acura is not that popular in Asia or Europe?? Why do we care? Secondly, Acura has its marketing strategies. Bimmers and MBs are popular in Asia and Europe, but look at how many else have purchased Acura, they have given you a solid reason that its not because they are afford some 3K extra to get a bimmer or something, but in some ways, Acura is just better, Popularity is for ppl who look for social statues and bullshit like that.not for DRIVERS.

@divne8beast Just wanted to correct you. Infiniti in 2009 became a global brand they are open in 18 countries across europe and are also sold in Asia and South America. Japan is the only country where the G37 sedan EX and M are rebadged Nissans, nevertheless these cars belong to the Nissan premium factory which japan chose to call it, they where going to name it Infiniti in japan but customers where already loyal to the Fuga(M) Skyline(G37) Skyline SUV (EX) as branded Nissans.

i can understand how some people hate the style, i personally like it, i hate bland, conservative cars like the 3 series and especially the c class, at least this car stands out, i think if your paying heaps for a luxury car you want it to stand out, at least this car does exactly that.

Sure it stands out but its no eye candy if thats what you mean. The car is eye soaring IN MY OPINION, so dont slay me for it. The exterior is very busy, the front is nothing more then repetitive, triangular angles drench the car at every corner, sure I guess thats Acuras design but its becoming nothing more then just another car. In terms of styling it was well executed but its not jaw dropping for a Luxury car in this segment, for 35K take an Audi A4, Infiniti G37 sedan over this

@Johncarson9113 well, you said 'in your opinion', so you can't be faulted. however, audi a4 doesnt have the solid reputation for build , and the infinity g37, IN MY OPINION, has rathter insipid styling (as opposed to the M-series, which, IN MY OPINION, is beautiful). i find this car, particularly in silver, to be beautiful, and stands out. the g-37 look like any other car, to me.
that's the wonderful thing about opinions...we all have them.

This is so damn ugly, they ruined an amazing looking car! I used to drool over the previous model and now am disgusted with the new model. Hell they are so rare around here, never see many any where I go. I think and Hope Honda gets their heads outa their asses and starts making good looking cars again! WHAT HAPPENED TO YOU HONDA??? HYUNDAI IS BETTER LOOKING NOW.....SAD!

I've had this car for almost a year now (base w/tech package), its been a marvelous car. Drives wonderfully, very smooth and with a very good sports mode. The tech package works beautifully and I've had no problems with it.

The back looks nice but the front end has to go... This front end is even uglier than the 2010 ford fusion.. But this only my opinion... To all those that like it more power to you!

If you paint the grille (I did) make sure you coat it with some kind of chip resistant covering. The only thing that worked for me was a plastic layered coat (not sprayed on). The paint over chrome makes it chip easily.
It drives fantastic, is comfortable, comes with high-def nav screen.

believe my brothers, this new look wil grow on you, my uncle has an all white one S.H.A,W,D with HID lights, and 19 inch rims, it looks like a beast in road. one thing i will say this car will out last any german interms of quality, he was gonna get a bmw 5 series, but i lost all hope in bmw since they started being built outside of germany.

RWD is more fun and better fuel economy. of course AWD is better in snow and rainny day. during light snow AWD is better than RWD, but if there is really huge ass blizzard AWD cant do shit about it. I have nissan AWD, and still mad slippery. so if you want fun driving experience go for RWD.

Well just for fun to drive I would say RWD is a bit more "fun" and engaging. AWD is nice and it feels very relaxing and confident in bad weather but if your in a place without too much snow or bad road conditions I would suggest you get RWD. I think its also a bit more fuel efficent.

i dont like this car. Interior quality is inferior, is looks are "thrown together" (in my words) and it is horribly japanese and underpowered. I hate my acura and will by American next time arond. Detroit is ctually making something good of itself FINALLY!!!

Finally a grille that I like. I like how the logo is no longer in the center of the grille. Reminds of a knight's helmet. Some people just have no taste these days.

I love this car, from it's awkward grille to it's overly aggressive design. If you hate it there is no need to make fun of it; just say the car is fugly and move on. I can't wait to buy this car. Only one more year until I can.

@hongpingmike actually hyundais are at 47% retention and acura is at 39% . You get more car for the money in the hyundai genesis and its a winner of top 10 engines in whicih acura is not. The Genesis won car of the year and has out sold lexus and audi.

I really like this car, but I think there should be touches to improve it:
1) Revise the front fog lamp area - smaller and less cluttered.
2) Make the headlights a little bit larger (vertically)
3) The accent line should be straight, not curvy around the wheel arches
4) Remove the red areas in the back
5) Make the exhaust a more simple design (Mazda 6?)
6) Take away the chrome strip on the trunk lid
7) 6 speed auto
8) Make a central system (MMI, Idrive) to reduce buttons!

Very nice car ! Shame we will never see it in Europe. The only thing that could be improved is the parking brake, which is still mechanical.
