anung good... practice more?? di mo ba kilala yung tumutugtog na yan.. sya si "maestro" Jose Valdez... nabasa mo? "maestro" na sya.. isa sa composition nya ang "maalaala mo kaya"
correction lang po, 1st hinde sya si Maestro Jose Valdez and 2nd hindi rin po si Maestro Valdez ang nagcompose ng Maalaala Mo Kaya, si Constancio de Guzman.
This sounds awesome. There's the undoubting connection of Spanish influence in Kundiman music as you would hear in other Spanish influenced cultures as you would hear from Cuban bands like Buena Vista Social club. Thanks for the music compadre.
Isn't there a reason why Kundimans have heavy spanish influence though? I heard that a Kundiman was a method of secret patriotism for the native filipinos and their land against the spanish rule. the lyrics are sound were made to decieve spanish power from seeing it as a threat and outlawing it.
I've heard about the "secret patriotism" hidden in Kundimans as well. If I remember correctly, the lover spoken of in many 19th century Kundimans is a surrogate for The Philippines as a nation. Subversive, patriotic sentiments were disguised as romantic lyrics.
lovely..
