  • Where can I get one of those wire grab devices at 2:20?

  • @orbitrod I bet if you called them, they would probably have an idea.

  • @bluehealer1 I actually found it at Tractor Supply, its called a Wire Grip or Wire Gripper

  • I am curious, they have a tractor setting there, why dont they use it to carry the wire, would be a whole lot easier, use the three point hitch bars, lot easier than carrying a whole roll of wire.

  • Huh....well, now I know how to put up a barb wire fence...good stuff to know for a cityboy:P

  • I have that same device. My issue is that I have metal H posts, not wood, so after I've stretched the wire, there is no way to attach it to the metal H post except to wrap it. But in order to wrap it, you have to give the wire slack and you loose all tautness in the wire.

  • @jsalavar i find that if u over tighten the wire before u tie it off the slack is taken up

  • Not very helpful at all. Couldn't tell what the come-along was attached to or how he was tightening the line.

  • You can use a variety of devices that attaches to barbed wire. A close up of this particular device is shown at 2:20.

  • Start on "tie in end" with the barbed wire in a barb wire caddy(easily home made with 1 5/8 pipe. Grab end of barb wire and walk it to the opposite end. This works much easier than 2 people walking a heavy roll of barb wire across a stretch. This can be done by 1 person as well.

  • Extremely helpful video. Thanks.
