I'm on the market for either a wampler plexidrive or paisley drive. Can I achieve plexidrive tones with the paisley drive ? It seems a more versatile pedal to me and it's hard to hear the difference on youtube. I only play single coils. Thanks !
@rioolput123 Not really, the sounds are completely different. The Paisley is more like a turbo charged VOX, or a Dr Z. It doesn't really have that Marshall sound. Sorry.
@steelwizard We do a talent Booster pedal which is a JFET booster, it will push this pedal further and further, there is a a few demos on YouTube, take a look..!
That's a really nice tone sir! The Jailbreak riff in the beginning sounds great, not like Mal on the orginal recording but much of his tone in later years. Cheers from Sweden - Jonas
dude you are a total Genius "God has blessed your hands " and we are blessed with your knowlede ....thank you Brian P.S (thats a good thing you are doing with the pink overdrive pedal donating profits to the lady with breast cancer _GOD BLESS YOU BRIAN!
@spawnofwheezedog this pedal is not the same as running a 250 into a marshall half stack. yngwie gets that sound from the tubes in the amp being pushed hard with a 250. pedals wont give you that sound.
what's "wrong" with you brian? this is almost unbelievable. I just ordered your super plextortion. will I also be able to get plexidrive kind of sounds from it by keeping the drive down? or is it a completly different pedal, sound, circuit?
Correct me if im wrong brian, but im guessing this is more "overdriveish" compared to the plexotortion, which guessing by the name is more of a distortion right?
i own a jtm45, it will give a tighter type distortion, creamier so to speak.. this pedal definately has the plexi flavor, a litte more crunchy in comparrison. cudos to brian..very nice
does this pedal react like tube amp, like when you turn the down the volume on the guitar it cleans the sound up? :)

@APortlyNinja It certainly does, that was a major consideration when designing it. It really cleans up without loss of tone :)

I wonder how well pedals like this work together with boosters? Like putting a Tubescreamer, a Treblebooster or a MXR Distortion+ in front of it.

Do you think a DOD 250 run into Plexidrive would get a good early Yngwie Malmsteen tone?

@joshuarugg I think it's worth a try. Hell, if it doesn't get the Yngwie tone, i've still got two seperate pedals that are great :)

i think i would get some '80s delicious shredy tones with plexidrive crancked in front of slight overdriven jcm800! what do u think?
