With the unemployment rate there are more veterans going to the VA that have been layed off from their jobs and no longer have medical insurance. I don't believe this was worked into the budget at all.
My heart goes out to these soldiers. My Dad is a WWII Veteran that is totally and permanently disabled. It is so difficult dealing with the Detroit VA and trying to get his needs met. Either they look at us like we are looking for charity or we hear "it's not in the budget".
If you let the military repair the buildings, then you will have a real mess. Their repairs are to put cover-up paint and the mold eventually comes back. Get a private contractor to teat the moldy walls down and repair it right and the taxpayers will pay less. They all knew about this, but they don't care if they are in their big neat homes. This makes me sick to think of wounded soldiers trying to sleep with rats and mice running around. Just think if it was you.

I feel so bad for those soldiers I am glad that they put this on the new otherwise the military wouldn't even fix and of the problems.
