  • definitely an engineering feat...too bad it looks like a toy.

  • da crap bike! -_____-` as fast as snail chase!

  • Looks more like a scooter than a Bike...

  • only in Japan

  • i would keep on in my car, just incase, also one in my garage

  • You should make bigger wheels

  • @ahson211 no they are not that hard to ride but jumping is kind-of hard soon i will be selling tp about me sellhe a-bikes so type in dantwoboy on youtube and when a video about me selling them. call the number that i will say.

  • Wheels are very small like a roller shoes wheels. Are they any fast, or speed at all? How difficult is climb a hill with this?

  • Am I the only one who loves the bike, but finds the video kind of annoying?

  • Those wheels looks super small.

  • the wheels are so small you barley get any speed

  • @jamy313 The pedals use chains n gears n stuff to make it so you get more for each cycle of the pedals.

  • Get a Strida instead. Or a Birdy, in case you want to rock heavy.

  • i have 1 but does any1 no how tp switch gears plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz reply

  • i have 1 but its a piece of crap

  • i wouldn't recommend that, look at the size of the wheels, if they get into a hole or a crack, man, that would hurt.

  • its so much more quicker/energy effecient to walk, this bike is shit!

  • love ol' clive's idea, please give the a-bike full suspension (fox shox or equivilent) and an electric wheel and i'll bet it would by one handy machine

  • Nice but very smal wheels!

  • @fubicom I think that thy released a version with wheels that are a bit bigger, as well as an improved saddle.

  • me too!! i just got my a-bike few hours ago. i got it for $60 with bag and pump and im here in america! sooo love it!!

  • @janmaomuriano where did u got it? where can i buy one?

  • Giving a second look, very interesting bike... but pleeeeeeeeeeeeeease.... STOP WITH THE CHEESY MUSIC!

  • Totally spanks the Segway

  • Well done, Sir Clive! This is absolutely brilliant! Almost as good as the C5! Now get off your arse and get to work on bringing back the Spectrum!

  • transformers more than meets the eye

  • i saw an imitation in a 2 dollar shop that sells for 150 aud i tested it in store unstable with scooter esque plastic wheels...hope pow below is right...i rode it and it felt like i was gonna fall even before i started...how do i get the real thing in australia...huh i wish i lived in the uk or europe

  • 5.5kg isn't that light. Regular Aluminium folding bikes weigh 6 to 7kg

  • i rode the original a-bike and the chinese copy and i can easily say the original one is tones better!

  • where can i buy a-bike here in toronto?

  • I rode the A-bike and honestly its felt really nice. And it has a bag , so you can fold the Bike up and take it anywhere.

  • How?

  • WANT.

  • lol at 1:54.... 'the A-bike will get you poon!!'

anyway, it looks great for urban journeys, but i want to buy a C5 more than the a-bike because they look so fun!

  • yes

  • does anyone know how to get on in America?

  • it's ugly!

  • Clive Sinclair is probably the most underrated computer pioneer ever.

  • I just ordered one A-bike yesterday...hoping to get it soon!!! :D

  • must be hell of unstable

  • Poor chap? Hardly, he invented the pocket calculator, the first mass home pc and made millions in the process. If only I was as stupid and poor as him!

  • I like how he decides to take a cab half way through.

  • FYI The A-Bike plus is out mid September 2008. This is the mark II version and comes with a new drive shaft, free air cushioned saddle and shock pump. The genuine A-bike has been out of stock for about 6 months so chances are most A-bikes bought during this time were fakes. The real A-bike has a unique serial number and factory stickers.

  • the A-Bike is absolutely rubbish. I couldn't even get air into the tiny tyres cos they are so badly placed with the air tube so close to the rim i could not get any pump heads to pump air in. CRAP!

  • You mean to say you didn't buy the special pump? ;)

  • I got one, its absolute rubbish, harder work than walking, cheap build quality - a real dissapointment. If you must waste your money buy an almost new one on ebay for £40 as most people who buy them sell tham after less than 5 mins use. Im keeping mine as I find it an interesting object and like the way it folds but it just cannot be used as a bike.

  • I'm just curious to know that is the one which you bought a genuine Sinclair A-bike? There're a lot of extremely bad quality, cheap counterfeit A-bikes flooding on ebay.

  • i have one they are sick

  • Creo que tiene problemas con el momentum giroscópico...

  • I got one today... so happy!!!!

  • Where did you buy it and is it an original not a copy?

  • I'm not a yachtsman, pilot or real camper, but i sure do want one for xmas!

  • cool idea but that must be so unstable i dont even want to think about a person crashin on one of them

  • i want one

  • there 150 pounds uk

  • I have 1 of those and they are fantastic. They get me from place to place whether short or long distances. It is extremely light and practical, and i recommned this to any1 whether old or young, short or tall, fat or thin.

  • lol what possesed you to spend good money on one of those??? oh and out of interest how much for??

  • Those tiny wheels are impractical. Whats top speed on that thing, 3 miles per hour? Also, lets see a demonstration of riding into the wind or over any sort of rough surface, which is important in city riding.

  • I got my A-bike last year. I ride it to work every day. Because there is a dual-chain system inside the crank case, the top speed can reach about 24km/h. (Someone has done a record of 32km/h!)

  • I've just gotten one, and I'm having the hardest time riding it. I'm 5'2 and 120 lbs. The handlebar's just too wobbly for me, and it seems like my pedalling couldn't catch up. Anything I'm doing wrong? Thanks.

  • I've post your question to the forum of abikecentral dot com under the topic "Question from Comments & Responses under YouTube Channel"

I hope you'll find the answer there.

  • Oh wow, thank you! You've saved me a lot of time ^__^ I'll bookmark the page and see what the others say about this.

  • I've tried to answer your question on the forum. I hope that is useful to you.

  • Thank you! Appreciate it very much. I'll try inflating my tires to the proper psi.

  • I dont see how this is possible, I have got one and the highest cadence you can get is about 80 on it which equates to about 6.5mph unless you threw the thing off a cliff it wouldnt go 15mph let alone almost 20mph

  • I'm just curious to know that is the one which you bought a genuine Sinclair A-bike? There're a lot of extremely bad quality, cheap counterfeit A-bikes flooding on ebay.

  • ahah!! - that might explain things, do you know how I can tell if I had bought a fake?

  • interessante

  • onumu taşıycam aq

  • tiny wheels = you fall on the first hole you encounter. Bad.

  • who needs to worry about rusting, when it rains, stick it in your pocket lol, haha my good ol' bmx will work just fine, no need for the A-bike

  • awsome! kinda look funnny riding it like other ppl say but thats a small price to pay for convenience

  • And you don't look like a dork while riding it at all . . .

  • Good old Sir Clive Sinclair.

  • So what happens when the front wheel goes down a pothole?

  • Very cool concept, but the dangerous riding isn't the best advertising.

  • I just got delivery of my new A-Bike. I love it. I have waited a long time for someone to invent this. Its a dream. I also have a cross country mountain bike and a downhill monster. Last year i had a 4x4 now i have three 2x1's. Life is good...

  • yawn emo

  • where did you purchase it?

  • I would totally get one of these. The might look dorky in the States, but folding bikes are EVERYWHERE in Japan since they're so convenient and everyone takes crowded trains.

  • jh

  • where can i get this one ? plaeas tell me !

  • Would you seriously ride down the street with one of these and feel good about it? Please!

  • Would you seriously ride down the street with one of these? Please!

  • so let me get this straight

the A- bike will get me a hot asian chick?

  • Imagine all the action you could get if you owned an A-bike.

  • yeah. the sexy ladies just love those folding bikes

  • yeah you would really look like a A-hole if you owned a A bike

  • If you're going to insult it, at least have correct grammar, an A bike, not a A bike :).

  • I dunno he was moving faster then walkers yea but he was also peddling pretty quick and they didn't compare him to runners or bikers.. they showed normal bikers but they didn't show any bikers and him in the same frame

  • yup... definately an A- (aieee minus) bike

  • LOL! you can even pick up chicks with it ;)

  • somehow i think this product is going to fail dramatically..

  • well I want one!
