well im downloading it off Xblox live at the moment and ive never played it but i have played fallout 3 which is made by the same people. in fallout 3 there are sever ways to get armor and weapons.

1. Vendors- u can buy stuff off of merchants

2. Loot- u can find items off of dead bodies

3. Stashes- u can take stuff thats laying around or stored in a container.

but thats just how fallout 3 was im not sure how it is with oblivion

you can find the mundane ring twice in the game first time on raven camoran in the sewers during the path of dawn quest ( Main Quest) and the second time is also on raven camoran but this the quest is paradise and is at the end of the main quest but remember you have to be at high level i think 24 + so i hope it will help you

if your part of the mages guild you can do a disintagrate amour and weapons on your self or if you have the shiving isle expansion pack you can look for the Amulet of Disintegration(which disitegrates amour and weapons 10,000 points), it is needed for the coming storm quest, look it up in the internet for the detail. message me if you need more help :)

Take the helmet off, train Heavy armor up to 100 (Master). If you ONLY have Heavy Armor then, you will get a huge Armor Bonus. So rather get a daedric, steel, orc or some other heavy helmet.

yelloweyeswolf is right. i beat the game at lvl 32 and i thought it was easy as hell. if it was hard for u u can go to gameplay and just turn it down to easy... i set mine 80% hard, not overkilling 100%, but with my enchants and stuff it was easy as pie. marksman and sneak... combine the 2 and u are easy street. with 5 bows that do 40 fire dam in a 10yrd radious plus x5 or so damage. higher lvls really helps

go to uesp (dot net)..... it is the unofficial elder scrolls game site..... type in oblivion main quests and you will find out the main ones. The only oblivion portals you technically need to close to comlete the main quests is the one in Kvatch and the one outside of Bruma..... Once you complete the main quests, you can do the Shivering Isles or Knights of the Nine quests. Guild quests, Arena, and side quests are just fill ins and things to do.
