  • BISON RULE

  • Great video !

  • Bears can be so cute :D

  • Amazing footage!

  • Grizzly bears have in fact been historically known to kill bison themselves

  • stick a log cabin in the back and that my future home

  • Bears are different because they are omnivores. They will always choose the path of least resistance when obtaining food. They aren't going to risk an injury killing a buffalo if they can just go somewhere else and get some easier food. Tigers are ambush predators and carnivores. They don't have a choice. Bears are the best predators because they are so versatile and much more resilient. They eat moths, berry's, buffalo...trash...they don't care.

  • I think it's silly to think griz don't get salmon, the Kokanee run every year here, and I would bet they watch for that and the brown run. Cool vid tho. That Griz would whip any bison...second only to wolverine.

  • Nice video. That Grizzly would not of stood much of a chance against two full grown Bison though, lucky for him he didn't press an attack. I really have to visit Yellowstone sometime...

  • Sometimes its best just to walk away...with all your teeth lol

  • so cute just looking at eachother. then if something happens something fires off in their brain and tells them what to do next. lol

  • Bison have a heart..a true survivor...except in montana where the state and fed goverment haze and shoot them.

  • Great video. Didn't see a single bear when we were there in 2008. Bison. bison everywhere, elk, wolves and coyotes, but no bears . . .

  • @DoctorJK3 Well the activity really varies at different times of year, spring is really the best because they all wake up so hungry they feel like they could eat a whole buffalo! Also you really want to be looking hard at sunrise and sunset, this is right at the end of the day, the best activity is at dawn and dusk!

  • I think he's only trying to figure out how to get around the bison so he can get at the cameraman. LOL

  • Wow. You know you're pretty intimidating when a grizzly gives up. Smart bear.

  • The bear is like "Where my wolves at? I'm hungry!" lmao

  • Genetic diversity

  • A Tiger would have slaughtered all three alone.

  • @lotiq bullshit

  • @lotiq hahhahaahhaahahahahah nice joke

  • @lotiq Not sure about that. Bison are about the same size and strength as African buffalo and it takes a whole pride of lions including a male to take one of those down.

  • @Thewoog34 Tigers routinely hunt down Gaur - largest wild cattle, twice the size of a wild buffalo

  • @lotiq Yes but tigers killed by bears are sometimes reported.

Althow the opposite happens more often, average grizzly is more powerful then average black bears or sloth bears.

So I'm not sure tiger would have easy life against a full grown male grizzly. The opposite is also true.

  • @lotiq

that's because the bite the neck, once you bite the neck, it's over

  • @lotiq Tigers do not hunt full grown gaur head on. And no gaurs do not weight twice the size of a wild buffalo.

  • @Thewoog34

    I agree.

Siberian tiger is bigger then male lion, but male lions are more prepared then tigers to take a fight. So it's difficult to say that tigers are the tougher.

  • @Thewoog34 I have seen a male lion with the help of one female lion take down a cape buffalo...A male lion could do it on his own but it's going to be one hell of a fight and he will probably get hurt and could be killed doing it

  • a bear doesn´t stand a chance against a bison, bisons are extemely strong and powerful animals.

  • this was great footage to see.......it looked like a wild west scene.....i was waiting for one of em to draw pistols , lol !

  • Nice video!! Keep shooting

You know he was thinking about a meal, but two bison and the scent of a human...he'll go find some berries.

Bison have killed and injured more people in Yellowstone than grizzlies....but thats because tourists are dumb.

  • the bear probably didnt even care aout the bison he was probably focused on the cameraman

  • The camera man is more tender and juicy just like the KFC...hehe

  • haha their so cute

  • Does that mean that vegetarians are tougher than meat eaters?

  • naw. just means I aint about to get a busted leg just so I can take a bite outa y'all. also, if you weigh 2000lbs your lousy ass vegetarian!

  • when a bull Bison is out in the wild they rule the forest there is nowhere to inflict injury on a head so massive and a gigantic neck and chest and shoulders the rear quarter is about all a predator has but thats on an animal that is a ton even half the weight would be a very large grizzly

  • That's not one bison, but two and they're large males at probably a ton a piece. It's too hard to tell the size of the grizzly. The bear's no dummy. He walked away.

  • well, not a ton each as a ton is the upper limit for bison bulls, but yes much more than that grizzly and much more powerful too.

  • These are fairly young bulls and not on the upper scaled in weight....Large plains bison can weigh up to 1900 pds while the larger wood bison weighs up to 2250.....no match for a bear.

  • Less of the 'duh' nonsense, how wrong that is ! Your comment was ambiguous and open to interpretation...so you agree about the weights...

Well I disagree about the 'no match for a bear' part......

  • I wouldn't say no match for a bear. Bison were at one time considered more dangerous than even Grizzly bears. Grizzlies are mostly solitary animals whereas Bison travel in herds. And Bison herds tend to stand their ground.

  • @mr3vil666 I'm not sure about this past year, but the year before Bison and Moose killed more people that Grizzlies. There was an older gentleman that was killed just outside Calgary, Alberta that accidently walk up to 2 bull bison on crown last and was gored to death, poor guy, prolly didn't even know what hit him as it was very early morning in the dark.

  • @The1SandBox Yeah, they are definitely dangerous but beautiful animals. Their power makes them hard to domesticate, only a few operations exist that I know of, a few of them here in the Texas Panhandle. But even the ones raised in captivity are just as ornery and squirrelly as the wild ones.

  • a brown bear is a very powerful animal but up against a full grown bull bison,it would take a hell of alot of manouvering for that bear to kill such a large animal.

  • the bison would have killed the bear

  • @gjms30 maybe, maybe not, im sure the bear could out manouever a bison

  • 2 bison vs 1 bear? umm no

  • @DJBEAST275 I was saying it could outmanouvere the bison so it wouldnt have to fight...i wasnt suggesting the bear could take it on...thats silly!

  • i thought you meant out manouver & defeat. ma bad

  • that didn't stop a grizzly from killing to musk ox calves in another youtube right in front of the camera crew.

  • Yup. But musk ox are actually MUCH smaller than bison. It's only because of their massive coat that they appear to be that big. In fact, they are big goats.

  • Wow! the bison bull 2:00-2:28 really took a dominant stance, just enough for the grizzly to back out. The bison looked ready for a fight, it would of been epic battle!!

  • Yuppers, the turning point. If you notice the raised tail on the bison.....It's a warning.

  • tigers have claws.Theyre small enough and nimble to latch on.A bear might find it harder

  • damn only if bisons had longer horn then they would b more dominate...hmm idk...

  • There is nothing more dominant than a bison. In North America.

  • Big powerful fuckers them bison

  • damn grizzlys they dont need to ambush they walk & stare at u the whole time then if they want just kill u NO MATTER who u are or what u are!

  • the bear diddn t had the element of surprise, that s how they have a chance of taking down it s pray of this size

  • there is no bear - not even a polar that could take a grown Bison

  • Oh I'm sure a big polar bear or a Kodiak can take on a grown bison since male lions can kill buffaloes on thier own and tigers can kill gaurs, which are larger than bisons.

  • Grizzlies in Wyoming never get any salmon in their diet, only a few cutthroat trout in the spring.

I think this bear developed a taste for bison from feeding on a roadkill bison carcass.

  • Looks like that bear got sick of the salmon xD

  • smart bear

  • Great! You can see the bear debating in his mind... hmmmm should I or should I not...THe Bison posturing to say .. well Buddy if you think you want to go right ahead... LOL great footage!

  • when the buffalo arch the tail, this can be a possible fight, fortunatelt there were no consequences.

  • Bet your heart was pumping--once in a life time shot I would guess--well done---I see you must be using a high qualty movie maker--nice high qualty shots--your work is awesome, and I bet U-tube is just a hobby for you

  • Yeah it is one of the coolest things I've ever seen in Yellowstone, it's kind of shaky but I still like it.

  • ha great footage as usual. the bear reminds me a of a a dog, curiously observing

  • I see alot of bear in dogs or vis versa. Definitly.
