  • Those unspeakable cads! Tony's drumstick bass solo is turned DOWN!!!!!

  • wrestlemania last great wwe ppv event

  • This is a great song, and I AM on my way and I am making it. Just slowly but hey good things come to those who wait are the words from my dad echoing in my mind,

  • he has really jacked up teeth

  • i heard this song from wrestlemania 21 =/ but watever atleast i like the song lol

  • @killaferny Actually, it was Wrestlemania 22 the tag line was: BIG TIME.

  • @Sabrewolf23 o thought it was 21 cause it was all hollywoodish can't wait for next year

  • I like the song solely for Tony Levin's bass

  • this album is 1 of the best of all time

  • Peter Gabriel, he's such a weirdo, ya gotta love him :)

  • What happen to good music producers, good song writers, good singers (if you know what good singers means) and what happen to good music? I just want to go back to the 80's.

  • for all you guys askin what happened with music... now we got guys singing in a box or can or whatever the fuc it is makes their voices sound like cylons off battlestar galactica.. hats off for shitty tunes... turn off radio .. go on you tube.. listen to real music BIG TIME.. sleep well .. smash radio.. feel better... BIG TIME. :)

  • Peter Gabriel was the only thing good about the mid eighties.(or should I say kick-ass bad).

  • Phil Collins appearance at 1'51" !!

  • back when music was good

  • My left ear became very jealous of my right.

  • peter is an artist ...literaly...

  • didnt wwe use this for a wrestlemania theme

  • @sharinggon456 Wrestlemania 22

  • Craig Ferguson - The Early Years LOL

  • Was that Peter who said, 'HI, there!' at the start? He hit #8 in Billboard, 3-7-87. God bless ya, for postin' it. Thanx! Have a great week!

  • Stewart Copeland on the drums here..

  • @melantoriano I knew he played drums on one of these songs that got played on the radio. Thanks for that info.

  • This song always reminds me of Amy Jo Johnson's "The Perfect Body."

  • I have always loved the WTF factor of his videos. Peter Gabriel FTW.

  • where can I find the songs of this DVD? i mean only the mp3s..(sorry for my bad english)

  • Just saw him with the newblood orch. It was worth it all....Thanks Peter

  • This was used as the "title song" of "Inside Job"... Let me tell you, I almost got thrown out of the cinema when I started laughing and singing when I heard this song... I mean, the choice was perfect - albeit a bit too obvious.

Anyway, my advice: it's better to STFU and enjoy the music.

  • Everywhere I turn ILLUMINATI symbolism

  • Especially impressive effects because they were all claymation, stop-motion or strata-cut animation, with no computers to make it easier. This video took months to create.

  • Inside Job :)

  • Fucking hell! Amazing tun... haven't heard it for a while... Thanks for posting!

  • Snow white pillow for my big, fat head!

    Love it!

  • Thumbs up if you came here cuz of wrestlemania 22!

  • audio is too quiet, i got it cranked :(

  • @zythepsarian I run in2 that problem every once in a while with a video & yr rite, it's low. Bummer......

  • pure art

  • Watching Gabriel's videos, I see subliminal messages in the most of them: illuminati sign, lots of weed plants, mushrooms, etc.

  • all extra illuminati ass video ha ha ha,reminds me of american psycho

  • That claymation stuff near the end is MIND BLOWING!!!

  • Ok its official Peter Gabriel has the best music videos, oppions do not matter thats how good they are, anyone says otherwise they are wrong

  • Panic! at the Disco apparently loves his, I came to listen, and it just so happens that I've always secretly liked this song when I hear it on the radio :p

  • This should be the CuLT of $CIENTOLOGY's song.

  • woahh crazy

  • Yes they don't make 80's vids quite like this anymore, mainly cos theyre from the 80's lol I'm not exactly sure of the chronology of Peter Gabriel's hits but I take it this was the follow up to the dancing chicken carcasses in Sledgehammer, well done lads.

  • @SlumberCloud Good call. Wayne White, who made this video, was one of the original designers/animators/puppeteers on Pee Wee's Playhouse! If anyone is in LA on November 16, Wayne White is doing a solo show at the Cinefamily. Check it out, not to be missed...and rumor has it that he may take the show on tour which would be AWESOME!

  • EPIC. Such talent, so entertaining for senses!! Thank God for synth's,too! BIG TIME!

  • Please don't judge the song from the awful audio on this video, half of the sound is missing! Better off re-uploading it, dude.

  • Wow half the audio tracks are missing from this. What happened??

  • Audio sucks goat balls

  • Audio sucks goat balls

  • did Trey Gunn play bass on this?

  • The house he comes out of on :58 reminds me of pee wees playhouse

  • He looks like having sooooo much fun!

  • Sound is kinda low, otherwise the vid is ok.

  • @SuperMegaFart yeah, right.

  • If you like Peter Gabriel check out my remix of Games Without Frontiers. If you find it deserving consider voting for it in the competition. Go to indabamusic com/submissions/show/20553

  • Awesome this video. . . . . .

  • 3:05 Origin of Awesome Face

  • This and "Land of Confusion" are the first videos I think of when it comes to 80's MTV... classic!

  • great music

  • There needs to be more sarcasm in music. Thanks to Peter for taking this risk.

  • whats happend to music nowadays, it's a shame. /:

  • @lottywood Yeah What has happened to Music nowadays it sounds generic and mass produced and I feel like its being shoved down our throats

  • @lottywood you'va Lady gaga, isn't? this is not enough for you? :d

  • @lottywood - creativity in music is definitely stifled. to see some fresh genius check out Kanye West's new Runaway film. Highly creative music, writing, and concept. It's on YouTube.

  • @kazembe

    LOL

    You funny.

  • @lottywood That is the understatement of the century.

  • @lottywood not real sure what happened to music. I mean Britney Spears is still out there along with Kenny Chesney, Keith Urban, and Tom Mcgraw. Always look on the bright side of your life.

  • What? Progressive Music isn't even a real title or genre. People can't agree on the definition at all even Wikipedia took down the page on it due to the fact that it cannot be defined. This is progressive artistically, this piece along with some of Michael Jackson's works hired a large variety of animation artists to essentially stick to a theme and run with it. It set new standards in experimental animation styles in music videos and also was meant as a warning on becoming too successful

  • Also I learned this from my experimental animation class, we had to study this particular video in depth and recreate a lot of the styles of animation shown... Just letting you know I'm not one of those, "I learn everything from Wikipedia" people. I'm not expert on music, but I know late 80's experimental rock when I hear it. It's certainly is not Disco.

  • is it me, or is the melting clay the best stop-motion of the 80's? Granted the tons of cocaine needed to execute, but still.

  • the bass line mixes funk/dance/rock very well.

  • I like the thing he does with the Eye of Providence and the mouth on the pyramid. Best bit, that.

  • Personally, I like how this ties religion to politics in a nutshell. All neatly packaged in media/entertainment.

Here...have some cake...and eat it too.

GJ Peter, I bet not many get it.

  • Hi there!

  • I love the eerie undertone the harmonies bring out at certain points.

  • Wasent this the theme for wrestlemania 22?

  • YES IT WAS it's just a lil different

  • TRippppppppppppyyyyyyyy!!!

  • all you throwing accusations and blames, this is satire, peter gabriel owns. he runs a bigass charity now.

  • @manta106 lol well I'm glad you enjoy the video :)

  • same animation that does Wallace and Grommet.

  • i like this song, but damn. he over did it with the music video.

  • wish it was dubbed louder though ...

  • Amazing art in Peter Gabriel's music video!

  • Weirdest music video ive ever seen.

  • This video is fuckin brilliant, when i first saw it i thought i was trippin yo

  • I pray to a big goat, and I needed a really big church... lol... hmmm like Aaron and the golden calf.. it reminds of these "materially rich" pastors from their "donations"....

  • It's " And I will pray to a big God, as I kneel in the big church."

  • you are a fucking idiot

  • i love when 1:45 part starts..then goes from there

  • I dont remember this song but i remember the video i must of been 4 when this was on mtv

  • he was very into animation.. big suprise there...:) his best was "steam"

  • Wow, so... 80's :/ Good though

  • 80's = best for everything but presidents and yes I'm includeing fashion. See through plastic suits in public. Science bless America.

  • "my"

  • "with a snow white pillow for a big fat head" hahahahaha

  • "The place where I come from is a small town. They think so small, they use small words. But, not me. I'm smarter than that. I worked it out. I've been stretching my mouth to let those big words come right out."

    Fucking fantastic.

  • god, i love peter gabriel. :D

  • totally inspirational song. classic.

  • HighHighHigh - PhiKappaPsi

    Live ever-die never-PiKappaPsi!!

My pledge mates and i had to sing this song in a cold ass Buffalo basemet over 9000 tmes..good times

  • peter gabriel's videos are just so awesome

  • It doesn't get any better than this!

  • Never could figure out whether Mr. Gabriel meant this song literally, or just tongue-in-cheek. Either way, this was the hottest thing on Mtv in the day. Peter Gabriel rocks as always. Great artist!

  • Literally, I bet. If you've ever moved to a big city to try to "make it", you'd get the song.

  • i like this song!

  • this is so cool, i love the 80's and stop motion clips, they are making a small comeback, which is cool, i wonder if anyone could help me, i am looking for 2 songs from the 80's, around 1986, one is a cover of the kinks-'you really got me' a stop motion clip using barbie's, and the other is a stop motion clip, with a guy singing, a woman gets created in the clip, and pulls him into the wall, i would appreciate help, lol,

  • is it the one where he gets pulled into a cartoon or drawing thing?

  • na, it isn't take on me by aha, lol, it is 3d animation, done in clay or plaster i guess....

  • yeah thats what i was talking about i was lookin for that too, thanks. look a this one i like it more.

a-ha Take On Me 1984 version

  • love love love it!

  • Stewart Copeland on the drums ... love it !

  • What a great performer!!

  • I have't seen this in 20 years. The first time I saw this, I was smoked up and my face melted right off.

  • Phil Collins was way more successfull solo than Peter Gabriel.

  • You are retarded. Peter Gabriel still tours, still sells out HUGE arenas and still records great albums, scores films and plays. Check your facts before you say something so stupid.

  • that may be but did you check YOURSELF as gabriel cleaned the house at the music video awards and not one phil collins video made so CHECK YOURSELF!

  • Dude you're not 24ames

  • Successful troll is successful.

  • I'm not a troll I was just saying you hear alot more people talk about Collins then Gabriel.

  • Peter's music goes after your heart, not your pocket.

Success isn't as important as the long-term respect fans have for you worldwide.

  • I've stoped talking about Gabriel a week or 2 ago so please shut up.

  • No need to be rude. It doesn't matter if your comment was a month or a year old, I'm free to reply.

  • Success is everything besides look at all the fans KISS and Metallica have and their fans still respect them no matter what. Yeah sure Gene may be greedy but it's in his blood and he's said it before he's living the american dream, I mean him and his mom emigrated to the U.S. from Israel but Gene truelly does care for his fans even though most people think he doesn't.

  • people hate success,LTK360

    he ran a great business

i found his anti-drug message on TV great

RAce Fehley was never exposed until he

went stupid over and over and over again

wouldn't even practice for the 1999 tour they did...

    stuff like that, for example

  • big time!

  • wm 22

  • yesssss

  • @ BagnerthBruder2 and checcojuve92

    sorry for my comment

i saw your comments too late

  • no no wrestlemania 22 :D

it was the time when wrestling was good

    now it becomes shit

  • What a shame...no drumstick bass on this version.

  • The song is freaking awesome but the video creeps me out

  • and my heaven.. will be a big heaven and i will walk throught the front door BIG TIME! haha great song

  • does anyone know why he isnt in genesis anymore did he quit or did he get kicked out or did he phil fight or something?

  • If I remember correctly, I think it was an agreement between Gabriel and the rest of the Genesis members. During the Lamb Lies Down on Broadway, Gabriel wasn't getting along so well with the others, so they decided to part ways.

Either way, both ended up having superb music careers, so I guess it worked out.

  • You can refer to the song Solsburry Hill, which is about Peter Gabriel leaving Genesis.

  • His wife at the time had a hard pregnancy. During a Genesis tour. Tour pressure made it tough to be with her but in the end he chose that. After that things were different.

  • Its The Blues Clues Setup CRAZY At :56

  • reeeeeplay.

    this will never get old.

  • The video is great, but the instrumentation and vocals in this song just blow me away.

  • This guy made 2 of the best videos of the 80's ...actually ever.

  • Indeed!.. And cleaned house at the MTV Vma's!

  • The audio sucks! Great song from the 80's though.

  • very nice

  • i love this song!!
