Quality trap as always.. on one of your videos youtube banned it for skinning a rabbit with flint however I have seen other videos on youtube with flint and rabbits... anyhow keep it up mate. I throughly enjoy your vids.
Unfortunately, traps / snares that don't kill can cause a lot of cruel distress (possibly for hours) to any sought after animal in them (as we see with this bird) which gets caught. I remember my Dad setting up a snare to catch rabbit years ago, as my brother wanted to learn. It caught the rabbit alright, but it had been caught in it over night and was screaming in distress and exhausted when they returned next day. Naturally, my Dad had to finish the job. Survival is pretty darn gritty.
Hi Malc, I just wanted to know if you ever sell your bows. Sorry this comment is in the wrong place. Your videos are great BTW. Nice to have BC vids that don't have three minutes of crap fake "native" music and a tilly hat. I think you'd kick Bear Grill's ass!
He's never sold a bow and I think he's crazy! Malc could amass a small fortune if he sold custom bows. He could take your order and you could watch him craft one out for you right here on YT.
I haven't seen how exactly he did it, but my uncle always used nets instead of cages to trap birds. he took the ones which sing nice back home for a couple of days and then released them back into the forest.
whenever he turned on the water they started singing - guess the running water reminds them of a river or something - was really cool.
That was cool! Where I live the wax wings attack those mountain ash like crazy...you have to really watch you don't get dumped on...know what i mean :o)
With a bird making those pathetic noises and vain attempts to escape, I don't think I could bring my self to kill it...but I suppose if a person is desperate for food...
Well I've been so hungry it hurt to walk, but I was at home hehe. But I know what you mean, and yes If I was that hungry I probably would kill a bird to survive.
What ever it takes to fill the belly in survival! Awsome 5/5* On this one Malc. We need to trad off.. I will take a week where you are and you can take a week here in the states! Your vids are always great!
How did you cook it? Was it tasty?
