having people like yourself record (and completely nail) these covers is such a treat, because it allows us to zoom right in and appreciate even more how amazing the original artists, in this case the fantastic mr entwistle, really were.
thanks for your part in teaching the world a little sliver of music history.
I have really enjoyed your playing. As I work on songs for my band you have made life much easier for me . I hope there is an opportunity for people to see you play live. I mostly play either a 6 string or 5 string Callowhill custom bass. But I do have a modifed Fender Jazz 4 string. Do you do anything with a bass with extra strings?
where'd you get your tab from? i have only managed to find half the song and the bits i sub in are nowhere near as good as yours at the end so i was just wondering if you could help me out thanks??
@staypress You probably won't be able to 100% cop the tone of a P with a J. The tone in the video isn't particularly unique, although it is quite excellent.
How can you not 'Like' that? Awesome stuff man. Didju just do this by ear or were there tab's or something? If so could you give me the link? Again great stuff!
Thank you for making my day. I've been plugging away at those riffs for some time with no luck. Great work laying that out. You've knocked me out of my comfort zone and pushed me to be a better bass player. Thank you!
Thanks for replying! Great job on this BTW. It's inspiring, although I'm not sure if I can play like this.
I've heard a lot of good things about DR's. The only DR's I tried was the Marcus Miller Signature. It's well, balanced, it last a long time and it's pretty smooth compare to other stainless steel.
The tension are a bit high, but it's meant to be like that for slapping.
I want to try other DR strings that will suit my style. I'm using Roto flats right now.
They are 45-65-85-105. I guess you could call them standard or medium gauge. No I havn't tried lo-riders. DR makes pretty good strings though and I'm sure they sound good. I don't really experiment with different gauges too much. I'm so use to the standard 45's. I do like nickel strings a lot. Let me know how you like the DR's.
nice job!! just want wanted to know..what kind of strings are you using and are they original p bass pickups in your precision. because not only are you fantastic, but your bass sounds sweet as well.
Yes, the pickups are the originals. The strings I use are nickel roundwounds (DR Sunbeams). They stay fresh, yet smooth and when they start to fade I just boil them for a while in water and they're like new again. Thanks for the comment!
Thats a great job . I ve been playing for 30 years and it kills me to hear people ask for a tab on something like this. For gods sake get some ears and a groove. You can read it all day but if you dont FEEL it its goinna suck.
Brilliant. I can't believe how close that was to how Entwistle played it on the record. That was basically exactly what he played, even the tone...wow, man, amazing job!!
Too sick for words. With the way you play, shouldn't the backround in the video be full of studio equipment, in a luxurious house, Talent like that needs to be rewarded properly. Not like these wall street pigs who make tons of money doing nothing and provide nothing to society.
Ya, I record directly through my soundblaster, but I wish I could get my video frame rate more in sync. These damn webcams suck, but I guess you get what you pay for.:)
My fingers hurt playing air bass. I can;t imagine hitting all of these strings.. Great job man!

Local rock bands probably fight each other to death over him.

@Drblooter99 Yeah, but how many bands does he play in? I'm sure a bassist with his talent probably plays in several.

why ask him if he plays in ANY bands?!
