i hate "chkdsk" , i will never use it on any machine (especially on a server)
This process will delete your ACLs (User rights on Files, rwr, execute, etc) an set it to default. It can take many hours or days ! (the more files you have on your disk). If your WinOS has marked your disk with the dirty bit.
1 ) make backup of your files.
2) disable chkdsk autostart on reboot (it wil save your time)
You can set it in the registry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CURRENTCONTROLSET\CONTROL\Session Manager
For example, I run the command chkntfs /x c: in command prompt. This command would modify this registry entry to autocheck autochk /k:c * (you can also do it for many drives c: d: x: )
This is what happened to me on August 15, 2011 and continued for several days. Then the screen went blank only the mouse remained. Then the screen went black. This is the way it still is and the computer will not shut down, still feels warm to touch. Is there any hope for this Toshiba purchased 2 1/2 year ago for over $1000? Windows Vista. Any suggestion appreciated. Please help!
I don't understand why Microsoft is not doing anything about this - every 2nd person I know with Windows 7 and possibly 64-bit installation has had this crap!
Hi Oli, well im fine as long as I dont reboot. I have two dl380's attached to a smart array. The security decripters get out of whack when either server is rebooted, Im sure its an ACL issue but I have an appliction owner that doesnt know what the hell she is doing so that complicates me. Once its up I just repermission the whole damn thing "her files only" for everyone fuill control and call it a day until she reboots the thing again, which I dont think she will do now.

any negative effects after this happened. I got the same thing
Deleting an index entry with Id ####### from index $SII of file 9.
Replacing invalid security id with default security id for file #######.
My system's booting very slowly and i seem to have no mouse, but at least it's booting.
