Corny yes, but a good lesson to kids back in the day? Perhaps. I still use the morals and values I learned from this movie to this day when dealing with developmentally challenged friends or people in general. Just because someone treats you poorly doesn't mean it justifies you treating them poorly, even the worst human beings can love those who love them. The challenge is continuing to love when someone hates you subsequent to hating themselves. Indifference is the opposite of love not hate.

In grade school they gave my whole class a copy of this movie and a piece of paper with a list of questions and scenarios to our parents. We had to watch the movie then our parents would ask the questions and then we had to give the paper to our teacher. They tried to use it to evaluate the students personalities and council the kids that seemed to have a problem with right or wrong.
