This is great, to see and hear Shawn Phillips do this song. I purchased Collaboration - the album this song is on, and instantly became a lifelong Shawn Phillips fan. What an excellent voice. Wow.

Until "Ascent" grew on me, "Burning Fingers" was right at the top of my list, along with "Us We Are". I have loved it for decades, and yes, the studio recording is superb, but this version has become my favorite because of Shawn's "GREAT CHORDS" comment at the end ... which is oh so true!

I have a friend who shared a stage with Shawn and in his words, "One gets the feeling that he and his music are from another place and time neither here nor there nor then nor now but all those and more and beyond"....all I could say to that, and I had to say it silently cuz I was so blown away, was, Amen brother, amen to that.
